He's just a man. He has no power to cause the calamities that have befallen Melbourne over the years. Only the Footy Gods have that power.
-
I hope so. He has become a sidekick to Oliver over the past 12 weeks. Time to just reassert your dominance my man.
-
I always thought of the "Curse of Norm Smith" as the curse placed upon Melbourne by the Footy Gods for what was done to Norm, not the curse of Norm for what was done to him.
-
Long way to go, but it's a Melbourne vs Port or GWS vs Port grand final for me.
-
I much prefer this GWS outfit than the Swans, but I think Melbourne match up better on the Swans, so c'mon Swannies.

Max Gawn kicks the winning goal after the siren vs the Cats to win the Minor Premiership for the first time in 57 years, Round 23 2021 Jeff White nails the winning goal vs the Dogs to put Melbourne into the finals, Round 21 2005 Jack Watts kicks the winner vs Collingwood to bury his demons against the old enemy, Round 12 2017 Nathan Carroll turns the tide vs the Saints, Elimination Final 2006 Nathan Jones caps the night of nights vs Geelong in Melbourne's first final in 12 years, Elimination Final 2018 HONOURABLE MENTION: Tom McDonald you genius (TMac kicks the winner vs West Coast in Perth, to give the dees a sniff of finals for the first time in 11 years), Melbourne vs West Coast Round 14 2017

My worry for this game is what happens when the ball hits the deck in our backline. Cameron can take leading marks, but he is also deadly with the ball in dispute. Zac Bailey kicked 4 against us I think all from crumbs or stoppages. We can’t let that happen. Our defenders cannot be dropping their marks like they have in the past. Clean that up and we go a long way towards holding Brisbane to a score we can beat. Obviously the midfield battle will be key as well. Oliver will be like a man possessed, but we have to set up to limit Brisbane’s quality exits from the centre as well. I also predict Harmes to be involved in a lot of handball chains along the wing into our forward line particularly as the game goes on and Brisbane starts to fatigue and get slower. That’s where we’ll get them offensively IMO. EDIT: Typos

Just getting all the bad luck out of the way early so there’s nothing left but good luck come gametime. Smart.

Judd or Ablett? Perhaps Carey?

If I were Port I'd say to the AFL: "Actually, can we go to Perth for the Prelim? We want to play there." They shouldn't be allowed to (integrity of the competition an all), but that's what I'd do if I were them. It's all about winning the last game. Anything else is a waste of time, so practice on the ground the grand final will be played at is ideal. If you lose, well fine you probably wouldn't have won the Grand Final anyway. If you win, then you're better placed than ever to take out the Premiership.

Disgusting. Who uses the index finger? It's thumb all the way for me, unless I need to do some real exploring, then the pinky gets involved .
-
I think we were all more scared of their personnel than their game style. That aura has completely disappeared now.
-
If they play Melbourne, it will be as the away team against Melbourne having won on that ground just 8 days prior. Rolled gold to get to the granny. Not so much to win it. EDIT: Port last played on Optus in Round 3 against the Eagles. They lost.

The whole medical sub thing is an absolute crock. Fantasia basically saying "I could have played but we had a fresh guy there." It's not what the medisub is for, and the AFL shouldn't be putting players in the uncomfortable position of trying to justify why they took no further part in the game.
-
lol danger going on a run and hitting up Aliir as if he picked him out on a lead. Most overrated player in football. See you in a few weeks Port.
-
The big thing about it being better to finish 2nd or 3rd is that the 2-v-3 matchup is usually tougher than the 1-v-4. I'm expecting an almighty struggle agains the Lions tomorrow night. Winner of that is surely best placed to win the flag, given this match has had the intensity of a Gold Coast Suns match.
-
Fantasia has the knees and arms of a little crippled boy. Amazing that he is an AFL player. Imagine if he had a somewhat normal footballer's body.
-
Apparently a home prelim is on the cards for Port and Brisbane should they make it. Our carrot is 2 consecutive weeks on the GF venue. If we make it, we'd be better placed.
-
Not to mention the 1st effort from Henderson (an easy uncontested mark even I'd back myself to take).
-
Not to make your MFCSS flare up, but isn't there a part of you saying "We were 44 points down against THIS? We must be terrible!"
-
Apparently if you have a free kick and the ball is knocked out of your hands by a Geelong player it's "Play on" instead of 50 metres. Bizarre.
-
The man himself declares it once more. Mr "Days of Domination" himself!
-
Huge scrutiny should come on Dangerfield after his performance in the 2nd half last week and all of tonight. Absolutely putrid.
-
Swans vs Giants is my neutral game of the round. They will absolutely pummel into each other for the full match. Giants will win IMO.
-
No way we'd be playing as stodgy and lifelessly as Geelong is.
