Top tier ruckman are very rare, and although we've had the luxury of having one of the best ever ruckmen it's only a point of difference rather than a requirement for a premiership. If we have to live without the best ruckman in the competition well then that's obviously not ideal but it's not as if we'll never win a clearance or be able to kick long down the line as a result.

Reading over this thread, jeez we're in a good mood collectively. The players' good vibes seem to be brushing off on the supporters?

What do we all think about the Peter Wright incident? For me it's Maynard all over again, and should be 3-4 weeks. An attempted spoil or attempted mark is no longer either of those things when it ends up as a bump to the head. Here's the vision:

Watching the Tigers vs Port, the Richmond crowd were a bit much when the Tiges were on top, but I'm remembering now how much fun it was to watch nuffy-cam when they were better known as ninthmond.

We've lost 2 key defenders. We need to bring in at least 1 to compensate. If Lever is OK then I'd still bring in Tomlinson so Petty can play forward.
-
Roo is playing a great game as 2nd ruck.

Providing heaps of run and we're actually using him offensively which we stopped doing in 2023.
-
Petracca. He has those suave looks, but he'd probably bust through the walls of the Russians' secret lair rather than finesse his way in.
-
I'm assuming you've put Maynard in the "makes me want to murder something" category?

The streaker wouldn't have lasted anywhere near as long if the security guards weren't shaped like blimps instead of, say Ben Keayes who flattened the [censored] no trouble at all.

Same. I can only hold so much hate in my heart.

The whole goal review concept needs to just go in the bin. I honestly couldn't give a rats if there are a few human errors from the goal umpires. It's a human game - let them make their in-the-moment decision and get rid of all the complexity that goes along with the review system.

The Crows look like they're going to have a Fremantle 2023 year - one step backward to go two steps forward (remains to be seen if they can do that).

Ahh you love to see it. #RIPCollingwood

Absolutely. The Giants have rocketed into relevance in the past 6-12 months through the power of their onfield performance and top tier social media work. That could be done by any club. All it takes is some understanding of how to engage people on the Internet, along with the traditional engagement clubs always have done (and the obvious - winning games). -
Good news week (positive news only)

I rewatched the game last night and TMac's performance was absolutely sublime. He's far ahead of Tomlinson imo. -
At times he sounded a little bit like he was calling a horse race, but overall he was miles better than anything we get from Channel 7 and most of Fox's big name players (e.g., Dwayne Russell and the like).

I've seen a couple of the 4K games as well on Kayo and it's only marginally better. I have very good eyes and am a stickler for this kind of thing. 1080p Kayo vs 4K Kayo is not worth an upgrade.

Brisbane getting smashed. You love to see it from the 2024 premiers.

I think someone said he had his worst game ever. His first 6 weeks or so for Melbourne before we accepted he's an intercept defender not key defender were pretty bad.
-
Just pretend you won't care till we win a final. That's my strategy.

I'm frustrated at my favourite player from 2021 what can I say? I think the criticism is legitimate, even if he's not literally as soft as butter is (that is very soft, admittedly, in this weather).
-
I think we can make judgments about 1st-2nd year players at the club but yeah, nothing this year is going to matter a whit to me until we win a final.

There's a certain #2 he reminds me of as well, not having been there to see it in person admittedly.
