Analysis of the Demon’s Forward Line
Moving the ball quicker from the back half definitely. Brown looks more dangerous than he ever has. But when we went small… gee whiz, golly gee wowee as Brian Taylor would say. Throughout the game we were creating front half turnovers, they still went coat to coast but they are the best in the comp at that. So when they screwed up we made them pay - that’s all you can do to good teams. Petty is as really serviceable but seemed a little lost the closer to goals he was. Spargo, ANB, and Chandler are the fuel that powers that forward movement. Soaking in a win against that arrogant mob.

Analysis of the Demon’s Forward Line
From a pure ‘list development’ POV, it would be ideal for ‘a JVR’ to come in with ‘a Brown’ still with 2 seasons left so that the younger player can have some ‘protection’ from having the better defender and having too many targets on his head. I don’t think we can simply think that TMac and Brown are to be replaced by JVR and Jefferson EVEN IF those players are the talents we hope them to be. And we can’t squander the 2/3 years we have left with May and Gawn with our younger stars.

Oh I’m sorry, did I give the impression I gave a flying? Consider my posts in this thread, and specifically about your rudimentary crusade, as similar to the perfunctory discussion one has while reading the morning paper with uninteresting people.- Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition

Wow. This smaller forward line is intriguing. Although if you don’t have Gawn then maybe don’t try exactly what you trying with Gawn. I think this CAN work if we embrace the quick movement and Brown gets to help out Fritsch deeper because the ball is coming down quicker. IF Brown has to come up further and do what TMac does, this won’t work and we won’t score more than ten goals.- PODCAST: Selwyn Griffith Interview

Again, it’s about membership revenue not about numbers. The Saints gave out $1 memberships last year to meet goals… Those that only care about member numbers for the purposes of ‘voting’ are telling on themselves.- Membership Tally 2023
Imagine being spurred on to post from a Deeluded comment… Beggars belief.- Will our Demons have another competitor
I doubt it. Market not big enough. To me, Canberra provides a base of support that can sustain the lean years for GWS in WS. Both GC and WS are growth markets where we just need to keep cricket grounds with 8 posts ready to go as an alternative sport. In my view, we grow or we wither. Progress is never linear. Et al.- Will our Demons have another competitor
Have you had much to do with them? GWS have worked really hard to build themselves into networks through Western Syd and Canberra. Here in Canberra there is a bit of a soul to the club. It is going to take a generation to embed this in these markets. I don’t know what people expected.- Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition

It’s an option but has he trained enough as a swing man? I am really keen to see a Brown, Fritsch, and Pickett/Petracca focussed forward line being supported by quick ball movement from Spargo, ANB, et al. Brown and Fritsch are at home in lead up roles and this is what this style can give them. With Gawn not there, TMac and JVR could get up the ground more and leave BBB and BFF have the leading lanes in front of goal. Sounds sexy to me.- PREGAME: Rd 03 vs Sydney
