Pavlich has been poor this season but kicked some important goals late against the Bombers. Frawley or Garland to go to him I would say.
-
No, they'll leave them. If they are no chance of getting the pill, they are no threat. The Collingwood defenders will push up into the press, as they did, and create numbers around the ball and win the footy, as they did.
-
They only problem with that is you would have those defenders leave those deep forwards in the press and move up the ground making it nigh-on-impossible to get the ball within kicking distance of those deep forwards. Our forwards moved up the ground to even up the numbers in the press but don't get back into the forward line quick enough or often enough when we get the pill. Howe did quite well, Sylvia too. Jurrah not so much... You need forwards who are ultra-competitive and have a great workrate if your opposition is doing a hard press.

Don't if this was intended, but it's clever... It was so intended...

Saying that a coach is a "good salesman, that's it" is a pretty extreme view of his coaching... Bailey has been good in areas and poor in other areas, and it will be difficult for him to get an extension, but he is more than just a 'salesman'...

No bump. That's a bad bump. Bad Benno!

I could get into this but I don't want to. I just don't want to.

You would do well not to take this one interview in isolation. Give the guy some credit. Just because you want him to be replaced at the end of the season does not mean that he is nothing but a 'good salesman.' I know we like working with extremes on here, but you will quickly learn that not many people will take you seriously when you talk in extremes.

It's a joke about Freak's amazing ability to continually not be right about things - but also add odd non-sequiturs like the the rumour of someone buying property near where they are rumoured to go means they are going.
-
Which you mention every week he is selected...
-
He doesn't have to be correct on every aspect of the Dees, but he hung his own rope with the specificity of his stupid question.
-
That is not the basis of wanting to wait until the end of the season. I can't comment for other posters but I want to wait because there is still an eighth of his contracted reign left, and a quarter of his 'actually geared to win' contracted reign. There is no downside to waiting. Malthouse won't be available if we want the best, Roos will be there, Viney too, whoever.

There was one point in which Leach intimated that Colin Garland's career was at the crossroads... It was a major WTF moment from which Dean never recovered and he must have thought to himself - what am I doing here?

Absolutely know where you are coming from and I should have expanded on that point about Beamer 'shutting up.' I have expanded in the past. If your captain needs help reaching players and being seen as a leader (I would say that Green would be the perfect example of this) then you need one voice (his) at the breaks to listen to. It is the domain of the Captain in my view, and not a slight on Beamer at all, if anything, it is a sign that he is the true leader of the group. The point I am making is that you can either act like a captain, and make sure that others aren't doing your duties, or you can give the captaincy away. In my personal team the former has happened and we allow the captain 'the one voice' at the Hawks the latter has happened - Mitchell stepped aside for Hodge. Green has to pick one because at the moment he is in the unhappy middle and it is not helping his captaincy.

lol So the guy you know, who is in the know, knows no more about Scully than the rumours we know. But he would know rumours because he is in the know? And I've gone cross eyed...
-
My theory is that winning in white keeps those threads to a minimum. Alternate strip always looks better whe you're winning.

Trengove it is then.

Just to back up your opinion - Carlton were on the down slope of very deep U-curve when Pagan was poached. Malthouse would pay for himself in this landscape - if it's a success. I'm sure when we talk to him, some numbers will be thown around - I would think that Malthouse will have football spending demands that might be prohibitive rather than his salary. But we will see...

People can think what they like RN. And they can post what they like. But don't call me self-righteous for critiquing their opinions. It's a forum. And I don't think I have been that bad in this thread - I haven't really touched on the fairness of losing Scully, only the belief that he has gone and the desired actions of a few if he has gone.

Beamer does most of the revving up at the breaks. That tells you something. Not only does Green not do much of it, he doesn't feel comfortable to get Beamer to shut up so Brad can at least fake a rev up. I'm really sorry to any person from the club reading this but, if Dean Bailey goes it will partly due to the ineptitude of his 'leaders' and the inability of Green to inspire consistent effort from himself and his teammates, and his body language is Robertson-like. If Dean goes, so does the Leadership group and Leading Teams don't get paid this time. The new coach can decide who the team should look up to, not who they do look up to.

Yes, I am not certain they will be giving their biggest cheque to a 19 year old introvert... Probably a good thing they have two years to get players because they will most likely need it to get that marquee player. Essentially, it gives them access to two/thirds of the players as opposed to the one third that the GC had.

Cop what? Nothing has happened to us yet... How about this: You can lose your nut if he goes, but until then try to keep it together people...

Who gives a flying if it is destabilising. We are not going to win a final this season let alone challenge for top honours. And Rogue is right - this stuff happens all the time, hell, Watts didn't sign until after the season last year. I don't think it is fair to have a higher burden on Tom just because he is highly sought after. Melbourne fans are not used to having nice things, and we are showing it.
-
Ok? I'm not saying you can't bring up what has happened in the years before the last 11 rounds... I am just saying that an entire season of judgement is fairer to everyone, no? Cause I could reverse your statement and say that the first 11 rounds were harder and therefore our 10th placement is rather good... Anyway, it's all arguable, and it's all subjective, and it's all about the effort rather than the results.

The number of people on here that want to only play Scully when he has signed is starting to grow... This would be an embarrassment if we did this. This would be turning this saga into a distraction. Just respect his wishes and stop sounding like a paranoid girlfriend. He'll sign for the Dees in October because why would anybody want to leave?
