He is a tough consistent footy player, and until Moloney brings his worst games up a bit, is the most reliable senior player. Good on him. There are always spots in Premiership sides for tough, neat players like Jones. And his decision making is getting better which has always been his major drawback IMO.

I'm taking a gamble and having Hale ruck alone against Jacobs and Martin because I know that Hudson and Hale wouldn't get near those two... And putting in another runner - deciding between Johncock or the Christensen kid from Geelong. Tough one.
-
I'm just saying it is a huge month for the club but as big a one for Moloney as Green.

Read between the lines, man! Do people have to spell out the things that others don't want them to spell? Or are you one of those people that only spell the things you have spelt before, or 'know' how to spell? Stop getting spelling lessons and realise that it isn't what people spell that is important, it's what they don't spell. Spelling is in the eye of the bespeller. The word spell has lost all meaning to me. Sorry about this post.

It's another rpfc gem... I sometimes feel as if there are Melbourne fans that subconsciously see the MFC as the little red-headed brother of Hawthorn, Essendon, Collingwood, etc. with regard to keeping players, winning big games, general clout in the game, and general respect. You won't become a big club and gain respect, if you constantly think so little of yourself.
-
It's a good question. But whether it is the chicken ot the egg it still doesn't allow Brent to get off the hook. He doesn't play well in those games where we need him the most.
-
I love Beamer and his clearance work is up there with Judd. But he can be accused of being a frontrunner, or at least, someone who can be tagged out of a game. Against Haw (17 disp), WCE (18), NM (15), Carl (16), and the WB (18) Beamer was down on output and effectiveness. And, bar the Coll game, those games were all our worst losses. And its those games that you won't your leaders to stand up and lead the way.

We have to put on our big boy pants sometime in the next four weeks if Bailey wants to keep his job. Will it be this week? I don't know. They will be strong, and they are a much better side than we. I want us to play some confident, tough footy and see where we are at.

Now that is spin...

BB would not consider himslef one of my troops... I'm happy with people thinking he will go, I am not happy when they claim he has gone. It means you are calling a Demons player something that we should not. Anything outside of that is fine. All will be revealed in mid-September.
-
I'm happy to push the button in mid-September...

That one week idea came from a Blucher interview on 6PR where Brad Hardie mentioned the timeframe of a week or a fortnight and Blucher agreed. I hardly think that one can read a significant amount into that statement, but I guess that is why I believe what I believe...
-
What if he is being genuine? He can't meet your challenge, can he? You are damned if you do and damned if you don't. And I don't think Tom Scully leaving will end our 'renaissance' but I do believe that he will be a da Vinci like fugure. The renaissance is still the renaissance but not as good without da Vinci...

Considering the stratospheric expectations that some people had at the beginning of this season, it is the right message. We thought - we are the Sydney game of 2010. Without qualifying that by saying that we lost the only proper leader at the club and a seasoned pro in Junior and Bruce, and we became younger, and less experienced for the 4th straight year. We have a ways to go. PS. That doesn't mean we won't play finals or win them in 2012 and 2013 but that we will face teams better than us in the finals.
-
Didn't the decision to delay contract talks until September 2011 come before Junior was pushed? I think that was the word coming out of the Velocity camp many months ago. Of course, you don't have to believe that 'word' either but that does mean that all 'words' are not trustworthy...
-
Just realised we can't because of Fevola... Next season - train the kid to play in the square.
-
The emergence of Martin has moved the goalposts significantly. We are no longer looking for a Hale-second-ruck-type but a legitimate forward who can kick multiple goals. Narrows the field and the possibility of finding one. Fevola is not going to be apart of a flag winning team. Read into that statement all the different angles. I reiterate my point about Gawn - if he is to play semi-regularly in the next three years it will be as a FP. So I say train him up!
-
That may be. But you can plan on it. Which is the point. We won't get into a bidding war because that is all we will offer. And I would reckon that, a dodgy knee aside, Tom Scully will be worth $600k when he is 22, 23, and 24... And depending on how the salary cap changes with the new CBA, he may be a value player at 22, 23, and 24.
-
The deal that was proposed ($3m over 5) is about as good as we can do, or should do. Plan on that. Done. Now Harrington can sign the rest of them up. If he has the extra $600k then throw that around and give us some extra cash for FA in a couple years time.
-
Yes, you have made a great deal of sense in this thread. (Although that isn't comparatively difficult...) But leave the jokes to rpfc... I would use an emoticon if I used emoticons.
-
Some bittersweet memories in this thread. I hate going to the finals with that feeling in your gut that there are teams you just can't beat. Viva la rebuild!
-
I thought you were getting better... Please point out to everyone when/where I said that. Either that, or tell the leprechaun on your shoulder that he got that piece of info wrong...
-
I have to agree. It's not great. Dig into him if he does go, but I have issues with this nonsense occurring while he is wearing that jumper. I know there are concerns with him disrespecting that jumper - but that isn't proven, and that's the point.
-
I thought we were going to move past the "lied to" meme? I couldn't report a post that mentioned that, if a mod is reading this. Talk about hypotheticals or updates, but can we stop accusing an MFC player of being a liar and not "being one of us?"
-
There is the fact. Well done. Anything, anyone infers from that are assumptions. You can assume if you want to. Go for it. But you know what happens when you assume?
