PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 13th December 2024
I do jest, and there is never a happier time than in pre-season where most are healthy. I am forever faithful, I just know there are going to be a disappointed few. Especially if we start well.

We are going to have 27 play Round 1 at this rate. Big chance to win with 5 extra players…

Training Ground?
You can take the supporter out of Collingwood, but you can’t take the Collingwood out of the supporter.

Welcome back to Demonland: Tayla Harris
Mate, we might have been happy to shop her for a first round pick… ”you don’t need clubs like that, !” This is a business and Tayla is a great human being, a Demon flag hero, an excellent athlete and footy player, and I am glad she will be a demon a little while longer.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 11 December 2024
They aren’t really candidates because they haven’t had good first years. Shame they are still struggling. Caleb is different and was immense on the wing but will have a lot of attention paid to him and getting ahead of a possible form drop might be what the FD is thinking about putting him behind the footy.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 11 December 2024
It is interesting having Windsor move behind the ball. I can see both sides of the issue; should be great experience to learn to defend versus the wing being such a natural spot to use his speed and skill. One wrinkle I have been thinking about is the ‘second year blues’ - which are really just coaches putting the time in and figuring out how to diminish these effective kids in roles. One way to get around that is to displace them and make their role less about what they do and more about what they stop the opposition do, and of course in a new position - harder to game out a plan to diminish him.

About as long as the cheque took to clear
- Welcome to Demonland: Harvey Langford

Lily Mithen off to the Suns?
I think we are paying for getting overs for Mithen there. Turning 10 into 2 is amazing.

Farewell Judd McVee
Lily Johnson’s management refer to her contract with us as for the ‘24 and 25 seasons’ - so not on the delist bubble at all.

AFLW Contracts and list details
Also Lily Johnson’s management have on their website she is signed on for 2025.

Lily Mithen off to the Suns?
Tayla has more to offer the game. I can see us wanting to move on to Gall and Campbell. And trying to get her to a competitor for the flag. But if we don’t get value for her and she is happy to stay - Georgia’s - beat Tayla into the side. Footy and internal competition is not a dirty word - Tayla brings hardness and selflessness and drive. Be better than her at those things and you will play footy. As for Lily - no brainer for ND2. She is a demon through and through but she has not kicked on and that deal is not something you pass up.

Season Review video - Eliza McNamara
My favourite Dee. If they ever trade her I will go full on Tigers fan on the place.

Mark Twains not dead?!

Chad Warner
I don’t really understand this mind set; ‘the faith’ was to pick him and not take our 3 firsts offer (Windsor, Tholstrup, and Langford). Maybe they should have taken that offer? If he is destined to leave early. These kids have no one to repay; whether they are with ND1 or with the last pick of the first round of the rookie draft (Judd McVee). It’s up to the clubs to create an environment that they want to stay, develop and play in.

Defensive forward - ANB’s replacement?
Nah, it’s in tact. Let him prove he can play at AFL level.

The Roy George Thread
I think it’s indicative of our interest really. So for 2024 it would just be injury replacement through SSP?
-
Farewell Judd McVee
She’s 20, played the last half of the season. Otherwise known as the good half of the season. She will be around next year…

Farewell Judd McVee
Who is that?
-
Defensive forward - ANB’s replacement?
My bad. Point somewhat intact tho.
-
Defensive forward - ANB’s replacement?
So Goodwin created and encouraged this variety and versatility but we worry about whether he will use it? Re: Sharp - he has not played a game of AFL yet. Let’s have some tether to reality.

Forward line fix?
Which one are you? Seriously naive and lazy take. Chaplin is our best line coach and respected in the league and he is coaching leading patterns and ball movement. You don’t need to be a ‘former AFL forward’ to be able to understand them, apply them in a team context, and coach them to blokes to execute on the weekend.
-
Defensive forward - ANB’s replacement?
I still think it’s Chandler. Sharp needs to prove he can play AFL footy before you give him a crucial role in the 22.

Ok, but how about sentence structure…
