Roos spoke about the veil of negativity and we have our little MFCSS references but they have so much truth to it. You are raised by your environment and there are some more affected than others, some have enough self-reflection to know when they are being ridiculous and temper their thoughts, and then there are those that want to disengage with the neuroses of the supporter base altogether. We see reality through a lens of impending and inevitable doom and watch as a lot of us slip back into that over the next weeks and years of pending and sustained success. We are going to get a bunch of bandwagoners and let's try and keep them around. They will come for success, for Gawn, for Oliver, Hogan and Brayshaw, and let's try to build an atmosphere and an ethos beyond the proclivities of the rusted on inmates that we all are.

What about those posters that just put their thoughts into that thread? Was I contributing not supporting the club. Obviously that is rhetorical.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
rpfc replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
Mate, you have no idea... -
No tears just yet. Just relief, really. We got 'miles to go before we sleep' - but it is a milestone and we will enjoy it. Kudos to all of you that hung around - it doesn't get easier but we have to opportunity to do some damage.

That kick to Kent for the sealer was just emblematic of his growing maturity. Excellent.

What a time to throw this into the fire... I would prefer Hogan stays and you go.

I don't want to be satisfied because you don't anything in August blah blah blah. But [censored] me, we are relevant again and it feels great. Demons!

Why we bothered taking 18 year old rucks is beyond me... Develop 4 at Casey if you want to but don’t bother putting them on the list for 5 years before they become playable. Waste of a spot.

Welcome to Demonland. We have opinions on selection. I would consider myself more credentialed than most on here but that doesn’t exclude others from providing their thoughts with respect. If you have a problem with that you won’t like it on The Internet... And, lastly, match committee selection has been truly perplexing this season, occasionally horrible.

Interesting how the biggest hypocrite on this site laments hypocrisy... I would prefer Garlett to Hannan. Kent and Weideman have a great opportunity that didn't look likely a few weeks ago. Spargo, Spargo, Spargo... I think he is cooked. Evidently, the club doesn't agree. Huge stakes.

That sounds like logic...

11 year bump? Did someone have this thread favourited in Internet Explorer 3?

He tore us apart because we refused to kick to avb’s advantage. And avb still kicked 3... With Hogan out, avb isn’t going anywhere.

I was at the game at you find what you are looking for. Lewis is in our best in my opinion and THAT is a problem but it isn’t Lewis’... He is playing with some very dumb footy players and that was our worst backline for quite sometime... No Hibberd, Lever, Smith. Hunt for a half. Pedersen for what 45 mins? Oscar playing on a small. Oscar letting players run around him. Jetta is superhuman. Salem’s left foot is Yze like. Frost and Fritsch are doing good things and Lewis is playing well. What a makeshift backline. They have been impressive.

They make poor decisions. I don’t know what you are getting at.

There is no negative emoji to put onto posts so I will say this: Those that want to trade Hogan are betraying their lack of footy knowledge and intelligence. And they are also revealing they don’t know what ‘drives’ football clubs. Hogan playing hurt for the team must give a little bit extra for the players and he has my appreciation and admiration as a supporter. He was also in the discussion for AA earlier in the year. Beggars belief some of your neuroses, Land.

And @Fifty-5 - our best players are proverbial babies whose decision making will improve when they mature. The future MFC team is much better than this one - I just worry we are not taking advantage of a year where anyone can win. Like a young team with flawed leaders near their end...

Seconded

About time @Dappa Dan wrote a thesis! Kudos! Honestly, we are at the point where we are trying to be a Sydney. A team that wins games they shouldn’t and stay competitive for years past their ‘use by’ date. We are not there yet but we are close and it may come in the next two weeks. I want to be around to see it, I have put up with much worse than this on false hope and I am not about to argue with the reality that we are a good team that just needs to put it together for 4 quarters against a good team in a game that means something. Even if I have to wait until next year...

Yeah, I love how we play and our focus on contested footy. But I have never had a season where I get the text on a Thursday night about selection and be confused on so many occasions. Petty against St Kilda. Pedersen as back against a team without talls. Spargo playing so much footy for a kid in the most gruelling role in modern footy. I would persevere with Garlett because I assume we fix how we enter the forward line and then he becomes more dangerous at the feet of Hogan and T Mac. Out: Pedersen, Spargo, Hunt In: Melksham, Hibberd, Kent

A player used to drive me up the wall because when anything went wrong, he would look at his shoes and betray his anxieties and his lack of confidence. We are 12 and 8 and looking to make some noise in September - why would they be dispondent or angry? They have a job to do - regroup and take it up to WCE next week.

I am more concerned with where the mids kick to and where the situate themselves when we have repeat entries. They over commit and our opponents transition out and through us like butter. Transition is a bball term and it is fitting here because it is down the other end regularly beating the shot clock... Forwards coach isn’t the problem. Frontrunning mids with poor skills is the problem.

Is sore and fighting through it. He is a beast. We are not making the most of our two fantastic tall forwards. Leave him alone.
