  1. If nothing else, last night vindicated my pure, sheer unadulterated hatred for the filth.  I can handle losing a match, although that was one we shouldn't have lost (I maintain it was lost the moment Maynard went through Gus), but what I can't get over is the despicable crowd behaviour.  The cheersquad doing the Collingwood chant as Gus is stretchered off.  The filth cheering every time Maynard went near the ball.  The hoards of ferals that descented on our cheer squad baying for blood at the end of the game.  Hearing about a friend of mine (not in the cheer squad) being king hit and then descened upon by three filthy thugs after she called them out for cheering Maynard, leaving her bloodied and bruised, and the security doing stuff all about it.  The group of thugs tormenting a child outside the ground at the end of the game, leaving this kid in tears, terrified.

    I hate them.

  2. We need Grundy tomorrow night.  On King's Birthday he carved Collingwood up - Gawn/Grundy combo had 42 hitouts (Grundy 26, Gawn 17) compared to Cameron/Cox combo of 25 (Cameron 12, Cox 13).  I'm so tired of the negative talk around Grundy, I don't want him to leave.

🙋‍♀️ I accidentally bought a kilometre of ribbon in 2021. I’ve long since run out since I take some with me to every match and oftentimes a little DA member will come down the front to say hello and go back to her parents with red n blue ribbons in her hair. 😁 No such thing as too much red n blue ribbon.

Cheap as from the local $2 Shop

We used this company in 2018. The club owns the image & provided it to us to use for the final’s campaign. The image was not shared for a private company to continue using so we wouldn’t be encouraging anyone to get this made up.

Ooh, I wasn't aware.  Thanks for letting me know.

  5. Okay, I've just ordered some red and blue fairy lights for my apartment balcony, and I figured this could be a good place for people to show off their home decorations for finals.  Also it could be a good place to share ideas, and also let each other know where you got a particular item that someone may be looking for/inspired by. Let's out red and blue each other!

Not to long to go now!

In the lead-up, I've put together a couple of trivia questions for the devoted W crew here.

    9 days til Round 1...

    Emoji-react with your answer:

Q: Melbourne has scored two of the top three winning margins in AFLW so far (78 and 88 points). Which teams did these wins come against?

West Coast and Fremantle.  The West Coast game was at Casey in 2020, and the Fremantle game was Season 6 last year at Optus.  Daisy Pearce kicked 5 goals that day.

Absolutely zero chance Bowey is getting dropped..

Actually watch yesterday's game and you'll see that Bowey defended really well and won some critical intercept possessions.

Just hoping Bowey's shoulder is okay, it had to be popped back in during the game.

the swans fans i know are, mostly, old school 'bloods' who stuck with their team after they headed north

their hardcore fans are as passionate about footy as we are

I agree, but there aren't to many of them in Sydney.  Mostly they're South Melbourne fans

Hope someone remembers to give Grundy a tour of the new training facilities and a couple of good Sydney cafes while he’s in town.

Please, show Grundy the cafes in Sydney, then he'll see how [censored] they are, and he'll choose to stay.

can not see how Port can lose to Richmond - who finished their season on Saturday; unless its on purpose. Same for the Pies, although the Dons may be so embarassed about last weekend that they decide to try this week. The Bombers did have Collingwood on toast in the Anzac game.

Saints could push Lions as they would get a home final if they win. Lions, would want to win so as to lock up first or second and avoid an away final in the first week against Port or the Pies. Therefore I think Lions will.

I really think this game on Sunday is a dead rubber for us. I will be going. So good to win yesterday as I can be relaxed and not embarassing my Sydney mate who is taking me to the SCG members. I think they are all Rugby Union playing AFL theatre goers who are used the umpires being called Sir and Ma'am. He hasn't invited me for about 8 years as he is still getting over the shame I caused him last time.

I'm flying up on Sunday for it, it's my first SCG game.

I think there's also scenario 6 which is all 3 teams above us win but we lose to Sydney. One good thing about the time of our game on Sunday is that we'll know by the time the game starts who we'll play if we win or if we lose. However, with Goodwin's philosophy we'll absolutely be trying for the win.

Well, I didn't use that one, because like if all teams win, and all teams lose, the status quo applies. No change.

  12. Just a note about next week, does it matter if we lose to the Swans?  We're locked into the 4th spot, I'm just concerned if we win, but either Brisbane or Port lose, we'll be playing an interstate final first week.  Scenarios as they stand -

Scenario 1 - All 4 top 4 teams win, we play Collingwood at the G (same as if all 4 lose)

Scenario 2 - Collingwood lose, all others win, we finish 4th, but Brisbane finishes top, we go to Gabba.

Scenario 3 - Either one of Brisbane or Port lose, all other teams win, we finish 3rd, and play either Port or Brisbane interstate.

Scenario 4 - Collingwood and Port Adelaide lose, Melbourne and Brisbane win, Brisbane goes to top, Collingwood, 2nd, us 3rd, Port 4th, we play Collingwood at the G.

Scenario 5 - Melbourne wins, Brisbane and Port lose, we finish 2nd, irrespective of how Collingwood perform, and we host a home final to either Brisbane or Port.
