  1. Gets the footy with all the forward momentum and stops in his tracks every time.
  2. I love Spargo but live at the game vs Brisbane he did look quite slow. Bedford looked lightning quick on the weekend.
  3. Love him as a player, his speed is a real asset. However the fact is we are in desperate need of young KP talls and another ruck, with too many small forwards who are too good for VFL but can’t get a game. Therefore we should consider some trades.
  4. If you take out the Geelong game where he must’ve been injures as he only got 4 touches, he averaged 24.3 touches across 7 games.
  5. Not sure what this is based on to be honest. He’s played 7 games for Casey in 22. He’s averaging less that 14 disposals per game and kicked 3 goals. Hasn’t had one game over 20 possessions. That’s not screaming that he’s ready for the next level to me.
  6. I thought the same thing. Why have a ruck as forward coach? But when it comes to kicking accuracy, purely on statistics he’s one of the top 35 ever. Raw data of course but interesting. https://afltables.com/afl/stats/accuracy.html
  7. https://www.sen.com.au/news/2022/08/09/flag-contender-meets-with-magpies-ruckman-grundy/?fs=e&s=cl&fbclid=IwAR0cgZD_SGZtA1VfCO6lZ4XD5yZzWasNOPds-qa6qXNFLEx0jQtIMbfZ9m0&fs=e&s=cl
  8. Felt a lot of empathy on this one too!
  9. Been a wonderful player but he’s been on one leg for some years. His ankle is pretty cooked. Think he’s retiring at the right time. We desperately need to develop some young key position talls, not recycle blokes that are already spent.
  10. If anyone saw the Viney interview after the game have look at Brown in the background. Can hardly walk.
  11. I hate to say it but Pickett is soft. Hears footsteps when it’s tough. Happy to lay on bumps on blokes when they are unprotected but when the game is tough vs the Maynards and the real hard players he is not at all interested in the tough stuff anymore. Rarely puts himself under the drop. Would rather fly at the footy from behind. He’s really not up for the hard ball most of the time.
  12. More likely she found one of each
  13. Couple of settlers are a must. Doctors orders.
  14. So Harmes is effectively omitted? Can’t say I understand that. Or is he still injured?
  15. I’ve also been in the camp of trialling him as a back, out of sheer desperation. The risk for me is that he is such a poor judge of the footy. He constantly runs under the fall of the ball. Good judging of where the footy will land and associated positioning is one of a good backs most important attributes in my opinion.
  16. He just does not have the competitive drive and appetite for the contest to succeed at AFL level. These are his prime years. This is as good as he gets after 7 years in the system. It is what it is.
  17. Whatever you were doing, go do it again!
  18. Where did you see the Weightman interview?
  19. When was that?
  20. Pretty reasonable to suggest he is. I’m slightly above average height and kept growing til 21. So from 19-20 I’d imagine he will grow a few more cms from 199.
  21. This is why I come to Demonland. For the real questions.
  22. Great podcast fellas. Some fantastic insights and while I don’t always agree with everything, I can always see the reasoning as it’s well explained. Measured, considered and articulate. Really appreciate the effort and makes my drive home much more interesting. Thanks for the pod.
  23. In: Darren Burgess out: Selwyn Griffith
  24. Says Max is off injured online? what happened there?
