  1. Could tell by the way he shirked physical contests he was gone mentally.
  2. Probably has to ask mum if that’s ok first.
  3. Given he was delisted immediately after not long on the list, and the fact he’s the only delisting. Makes me wonder if it was behavioural/work ethic? Nothing else really makes sense.
  4. The whole thing is weird. What would it matter if Scott and Harmes spoke today vs the weekend?
  5. Chol would’ve been a great pick up. 39 marks i50, and 44 goals. Would’ve been second in our goal kicking with that output.
  6. I like Hunt, always have. As others have said his pace is something we really lack. However, he is far too inconsistent and when he plays poorly he has absolute stinkers. He played 20 games this year in 8 of those he got under 10 possessions. In some of our most physical games of the year, against North (5), Freo (8), Sydney (3) and Pies (9) he really went missing. Possessions don’t tell the full story of a player’s contribution of course, but all the pace in the world doesn’t mean anything if you’re not getting the footy. He was good against Carlton and Brisbane (r23) but didn’t do much else

  8. Reports Rosman is on the out. Can’t say I understand this when he has had some injuries and only been on the list two years. At 194cms one of the few developing talls we have. Was taken after McCreery and Walker who have had decent years and getting regular games. Strangely, the post was liked by JVR?
  9. Then why didn’t they select him again the rest of the year? He has potential for sure.
  10. Try and educate yourself on the modern game. Attack is usually launched from defence. I’m not saying he’s a spud. I’m saying that right now he is not playing to AFL level. His performances are not warranting selection. Locking down a defender isn’t enough in the 2s to play seniors, you need to win the footy and attack.
  11. He played 14 games and in 6 he got 9 possessions or less. I watched the games. Towards the end of the season he didn’t do much. In the last round he had 5 touches and 1 mark and in prelim he was unsighted. Got some potential for sure but he’s not exactly bashing the door down for senior selection.
  12. Turner has struggled at Casey and JVR can’t do it alone. 195cms is roughly KPP size these days so it’s an arbitrary measure. Indeed a fair portion are busts. Which is why you need developing young talls as not all will make it but they’re crucial to success. We have wasted space with Daw, M Brown etc and now have a real issue. With Jackson gone and M Brown certain to be delisted, we now have 4 players over 195cms. A hobbled B Brown, a 30 year old Gawn, a not going to make it Weid and Petty. Compare that to the league leaders: Geelong has 8 , Collingwood have 10, lions have 10. Not all will make it of course but I don’t think it’s great lost management from us to have a glut of Bedford/Chandler/Laurie types all playing for Casey and no back up ruck or developing talls.
  13. All comes down to some poor list management for mine. We have far too many of the same type of player that are too good for Casey. And almost no developing talls over 195cms.
  14. 4 years ago?... And played no more than half a season since and 5 games in a year where we have been desperate for a tall forward. So I’d say the coaches have seen enough.
  15. Agree. Weid is a pea heart no way should we bring him in for a final.
  16. Gets the footy with all the forward momentum and stops in his tracks every time.
  17. I love Spargo but live at the game vs Brisbane he did look quite slow. Bedford looked lightning quick on the weekend.
  18. Love him as a player, his speed is a real asset. However the fact is we are in desperate need of young KP talls and another ruck, with too many small forwards who are too good for VFL but can’t get a game. Therefore we should consider some trades.
  19. If you take out the Geelong game where he must’ve been injures as he only got 4 touches, he averaged 24.3 touches across 7 games.
  20. Not sure what this is based on to be honest. He’s played 7 games for Casey in 22. He’s averaging less that 14 disposals per game and kicked 3 goals. Hasn’t had one game over 20 possessions. That’s not screaming that he’s ready for the next level to me.
  21. I thought the same thing. Why have a ruck as forward coach? But when it comes to kicking accuracy, purely on statistics he’s one of the top 35 ever. Raw data of course but interesting. https://afltables.com/afl/stats/accuracy.html
