  1. Anyone have the guts to head to Casey to watch the game on Friday morning behind the fence even though it's closed to the public?
  2. I really like Langdon as a player but he certainly had his honeymoon period of "Demonland whipping boy" immunity in terms of his kicking. Kicked about 2.8 last year. Needs to kick 10 to 12 goals as a full time winger this year. I think it will be if we continue to have games like the Doggies loss last year where they kicked 7 in a row and put the game to bed in one quarter, or the Cairns debacles where he couldn't steady the ship and get the boys focused against two poorish sides. Gawn's nailed the off filed component of being a captain but the on field is up for debate.
  3. Surprise - James Jordon Whipping boy - one of older fellas such as T Mac, Jones or Melksham. Lever’s an outside chance as it’s his 4th season and he hasn’t really lived up to his price tag to date.
  4. Carlton V Essendon, Bulldogs V Hawthorn (both games members only) and Adelaide V Port are announced games that will be streamed live. Hopefully we follow suit.
  5. May as well make it a package deal and change the coach while you’re at it.
  6. Either Melksham is doing his rehab and out for 3 weeks or Tom Browne was wrong. It surely can't be the latter.
  7. I have a feeling you can rule him out for the early rounds. Has he even done a training session since 1 Jan? Our depth will be tested early on with BBB, Weid, Melksham, Hibberd and possibly Kozzie all out for at least the first 1-2 games.
  8. FWIW, Carlton and Essendon are doing a members only live stream for their game on Thursday.
  9. Agreed. Hunt needs to play forward with Melksham injured and Hannan gone. Plus he's one of the more natural goal kickers on the list and is coming off a 4 goal game.
  10. I wonder if both clubs will kick up a fuss if they see people watching behind the fence? And hopefully they'll do a stream of the game.
  11. Given Richmond and Melbourne can choose whichever day they want to play, I doubt very much whether Richmond would voluntarily impose a 5--6 day break on themselves as opposed to giving themselves a proper 7 day break if they play this scratch match game on Friday.
  12. Richmond are playing Collingwood on Friday 5 March so I doubt we'll be playing Richmond this weekend. Will be more likely Friday or Thursday.
  13. Speculation this game could be played on Friday at Casey Fields according to the Richmond Bigfooty board. No further details as yet. Please MFC do a live stream!
  14. Sounds like Goodwin was the stand in coach today with those stats.
  15. I think the AFL and all state governments should have confidence that despite our horrid reputation in containing the virus, we actually have done very well in keeping the recent Black Rock and Holiday Inn clusters under control. Therefore only a catastrophic outbreak like the one we had in July 2020 warrants games being moved out of VIC. I can’t imagine the better part of 2 years of no AFL footy at the MCG and Marvel. What an absolute waste of world class stadiums.
  16. If we have to go 28 days without community transmission, then round 1 should be ok for 50% crowds as we haven’t had a case since 19 Feb. Hopefully the VIC hotel quarantine program is “gold standard” for the next 4 weeks. If it is 30% for round 1 then members that book tickets nice and early should all be accomodated, and keep in mind that the record crowd for a Melbourne V Fremantle crowd at the MCG is just 27,000. With respect to the St Kilda game at Marvel in round 2, I think most MFC supporters will struggle to get a ticket for that one.
  17. All fantastic games you've mentioned. Interesting that nobody ever talks about our 1988 finals wins. Great wins over West Coast, Collingwood and Carlton. And we were one of the rare clubs in history to win 3 finals in the one year without winning the flag, in 1988.
  18. Is Daw even a certainty to get listed?
  19. And how’s his mate Hibbo? I don’t think he’s done a proper session yet all summer. Given Melksham played the last 2 games of the year in the midfield averaging 9 possessions per game , I’m hoping we can cover him as a forward option. He was fantastic in 2018 but hasn’t looked near it since.
  20. 2002. We were down by 8 goals at qtr time but somehow managed to kick a combined 14.7.91 in the middle 2 qtrs. We were out of petrol by 3 qtr time.
  21. Wonderful win that one. I’m far from a Goodwin fan but he coached some brilliant wins in his debut year- Adelaide and WC both away.
  22. That last quarter was thing of beauty if you’re a fan of Yze, Trapper and McLean at their best. Will always remember Pickett’s goal in the third quarter that gave us all the momentum.
  23. 2018 Prelim. Particularly the second half where we actually kicked goals.
