  1. I’m giving all parties the benefit of the doubt here and assume that because the show was over in Adelaide for Gather Round there was no room for his segment this week. In the unlikely event that Goodwin’s already pulled the pin on the segment, then it tells me he’s feeling the pressure in the worst possible way. He’s already appeared to have canned his own post game MFC website segment after just one week.
  2. Exactly. Our draw gets laughable after round 9 with games against Hawthorn, Brisbane, Sydney, St Kilda and Collingwood. Ouch.
  3. It's going to be 27 degrees at opening bounce and 24 by final siren. Perfect conditions for a team that runs out last quarters as well as we do.
  4. I see it more as 0-8 instead of 2-6 as the benchmark. I reckon the board and supporters will be doing cart wheels if we're 2-6 after round 8. The brand of football we've played the last 3 weeks simply can't win games of AFL. Against anyone (aside from maybe WC in Melbourne)
  5. Even Harmes is a loss. Clearly in Dog's best 22 who are miles better than us as a club. A couple of poor games in 2023 and his papers are stamped.
  6. Agreed. I wouldn't rush Tholstrupp back this week and I'd give McVee a week at Casey next week. Bringing in under done players who are a fraction off the pace (eg- Spargo) just hasn't worked well for us, nor should it for other sides.
  7. That's great to hear. But should they look at bringing him back via Casey for 1 week to shake the cobwebs out. He's missed a lot of footy. I note that Freo brought back Hayden Young via the WAFL last week.
  8. Not related to this week but Luke Jackson could miss our game with a hammy. Probably won't make much of a difference tot he result but it's hard to watch a former Dee dominate you game after game.
  9. Hard to believe that this time last year THIS TEAM (only Lever and McVee out for Bowey and Melksham) had just beaten Port Adelaide and Adelaide at Adelaide Oval within 5 days, and then beat the league leaders in Geelong 3 weeks later. Out of all the horrendous on and off field happenings, these achievements just gets buried under everything. Heading to 5 of the 8 non MFC games. Pies/Sydney and Saints/GWS the pick of the bunch.
  10. Is a key cog in the league leader's midfield, despite missing the last few games with injury. A yes from me. Not sure why he'd leave Hawthorn when they're on the cusp of potential premierships.
  11. IN - Fullarton, Lindsey Out - Spargo, Sharp I get the want for Fritta and JVR to be dropped but they're supposed to be our major source of goals and it's only letting the opposition off the hook if we further deplete our forward line. So many players on severe notice it's not even funny.
  12. I mentioned this months ago but I was reading the Brisbane Lions Bigfooty forum during grand final week. I was checking into to see who would replace Oscar Mac in the ruck. A couple posters suggested that Fullarton could've had the chance to play in a GF had he remained with Brisbane as he wasn't that far below Fort as an option to replace McInerny. Anyway, another poster chimed in and said that Fullarton and his Dad had a major falling out with the MFC during 2024 and they were most upset with the club at the time. Could be BS, but I'm not sure of the upside of someone making up a story like that on grand final week, on the Lions forum discussing ruck replacements that have nothing to do with Melbourne. If he doesn't get selected this week I dare say his papers are stamped.
  13. No I don't think he'll add much to our team. However there's a thing called selection integrity. He's kicked 10 goals in 3 games in the VFL while our AFL forward line is worse than 2013. By round 4 2013 we'd kicked 48 goals. This year we've kicked 34 goals through 4 games. The point is VFL form should be rewarded while the senior boys aren't getting the job done.
  14. Don’t mind that. And get Petty the heck away from our defence. I’d give Petty a role up forward given he’s the only player that can take a contested mark aside from May and Gawn.
  15. There was precisely no upside in delisting Tomlinson. All it did was compromise our depth given Marty Hore is forever injured.
  16. Surely he's done after round 8 if we go 0-8 with losses to all of Essendon, RIchmond and West Coast.
  17. Gawn's streets ahead on the leader board even though he is having a sub par start to the season by this lofty standards. Pretty instructional as to where we currently sit.
  18. Can someone please explain the 12 month pay out clause? Is it a matter of if Goodwin's sacked today, we would have to pay him through to 7 April 2026 and then the balance through to 31 October is negotiable between the two parties??
  19. What happened to Simon's Sign Off? I was awake till about 3am after the game waiting for his video.
  20. Yes it is. That's how far we've fallen as a footy side. But that doesn't change the fact that Kozzie and Fritta aren't kicking 0.6 between them every week. If they kick 4.2 next week between them we might actually win against a lesser opponent or go very close.
  21. Scary to think that they beat us by 15 goals last year when we were still a semblance of a competent side.
  22. There’s talk that Enright might succeed Lyon in a perfect world for St Kilda.
  23. Ross Lyon reinforced today why a non premiership coach can be regarded as a better coach than a premiership winning coach. 17 years in the caper and still getting the best out of his list while implementing a game plan that suits the modern day.
  24. Freo on Easter Saturday might be a significant event for the club.
  25. Can see St Kilda being one of those sides that goes from missing the 8 to finishing top 4 either after round 24 or at the conclusion of the finals. They’ll win the majority of their games at Marvel and will pick up a bonus away win today. Could even beat GWS next week at a neutral venue. Port are a bit like us at the moment. Severely low on confidence.
