  1. I'm flabbergasted Fritta has kicked as many as 4 behinds. He's been deadly accurate this year. Come a long way since 2019 when he kicked 22.24
  2. Does look great. I assume this will be worn for the Port away game in round 10.
  3. Miles Bergan or Kozzie Pickett? I think the recruiters may have just gone that one correct....
  4. Is that what you are hoping or you have intel? Chandler's a key re-signing for our future forward line. Now we can go to the G for the rest of the season and genuinely enjoy Kozzie's talents with the comfort of knowing that he's ours for many a year.
  5. Which is exactly what he’s averaging a game this year.
  6. Second is just as good as first. Top 2 gets us MCG finals the entire finals series if we win week 1. And our MCG form has been tremendous so far.
  7. Looks like we’ve got the Suns next week in their token “good patch” of a given season.
  8. Weid a career best 5 goals. Edit *Sorry wrong thread*
  9. Weid with 2 goals. I get that Essendon’s defence is EDFL division 3 standard this afternoon but Geelong’s potency will be a concern at the business end of the year. 64 points half way through the second quarter.
  10. The obligatory “Weid just kicked a goal” post.
  11. You’d think they finally passed away the year we beat them three times in the one season, and yet here we are. (and why has an elderly man got 4.1 to his name by quarter time)
  12. The media aren’t talking about him but I’m sure clubs are well aware of his contract status. He’s been a massive highlight of our 2023 season. 1) is a deadly snap at goal. 2) has stepped up with goals in crucial moments against Richmond and Sydney. 3) General skills above average. 4) defensive intent highly noticeable. 5) Clearly on track for a 35+ goal season if he plays the entire season. 6) plays with passion and would be a coaches dream. In line with the thread, if he were a stock he’d be A2 Milk circa 2017-2018. From $2 to $12 in the space of 12 months.
  13. Our loss to Essendon isn’t ageing well.
  14. Who would’ve thought an off broadway Sydney v GWS game would be one of the games of the year. Happy for the Giants and Sydney’s top 4 chances aren’t looking great.
  15. Awesome. More interstate trips.
  16. Good pick up with the St Kilda travel. One of the Thursday/Friday night slots will surely go to the GF rematch and the AFL would be reluctant to put a likely wooden spooner in the other marquee slot. Therefore I’m confident St Kilda would be on the Saturday or Sunday. Whatever the outcome, our preparation needs to be cheery ripe against a hard running St Kilda in a key match. We ran out of gas last year at Marvel against the Dogs on a 7 day break after Alice.
  17. As I mentioned above, Alan Richardson was interviewed on SEN over summer and was asked whether the Kozzie speculation had the potential for the distraction that Jackson did. Whilst he didn’t say it in so many words, he absolutely implied that Jackson deceived the club with his meeting with Freo. He said something like “it was a bit of a surprise to read the headlines that he’d had a meeting with Freo after we let him go and see his family”. This is after Richo thought both parties were in a good place for the majority of the year. He then also said “I don’t want to go into too much detail” in reference to his disappointment of the way he conducted himself last year on the contract front. I took that as Jackson stuffing the club around last year.
  18. Lyon subtly suggested that the 5 day break really hurt his side last night. Something for us to be mindful of tonight.
  19. Is that the same player that stuffed the club around in 2022 with his indecision, his mid season interview with Freo behind the clubs back as confirmed by Alan Richardson via SEN, the media circus he created and the phoning in of the 2022 finals series. He will cop Tom Scully boos -circa 2012 MCG.
  20. Collingwood supporters started that in round 2. The same group of supporters that are happy to boo Oliver on receipt of Neale Daniher medal but take the Moral high ground when their beloved Pendlebury gets booed on Anzac Day or Ginnvian on the SCG scoreboard. Worst group of supporters in the AFL.
  21. St Kilda will: a) turn this around and win; b) make the top 4.
  22. North have had it worse than us. Melbourne - Perth - Launceston - Melbourne - Adelaide - Gold Coast.
  23. The week after Alice: Don't rule out St Kilda V Melbourne being a Sunday afternoon 3:20pm game as channel 7 love a big game leading into the news. Marvel host 3 games that weekend with Dogs V Pies probably being on the Friday night and they could have Essendon V Adelaide on the Saturday night if both club are flying. So we may have 7 day break after Alice, and then Melbourne V Brisbane could be Saturday night or Sunday 3:20pm.
  24. The mid season trade period can't come soon enough for capable blokes like Dunstan who would be craving a regular senior game. I still see BBB in our side in the second half of the year, injury permitting.
  25. Saints are a certainty tonight against Port despite it being the second most even game according to the bookies. In 2021 we beat Fremantle in a round 1 home game. In 2021 we broke a 57 year premiership drought. In 2023, who played Fremantle in a round 1 home game? In 2023, who has a 57 year premiership drought?
