  1. It's next level worse than anyone else. Trust me.
  2. Excellent effort you've produced. You certainly can't accuse the MFC of being a choker in finals over the last 35 years. Touch wood. Do you have the record of Melbourne V Sydney games at the MCG from 2002 - 2022. It's quite frankly horrifying.
  3. Also puts the narrative to bed that Collingwood are a young rebuilding side.
  4. Is this a stock standard Dunstan VFL game, because he’s been very impressive. Should be playing AFL for someone.
  5. This is where the finals structure is flawed. Geelong (the minor premiers) plays a team with a percentage of just 104 in the week 1 qualifying final. However if they win that, they potentially play the second or third ranked side (Melbourne or Sydney) in the prelim with percentages around the 128-131 mark. Clearly, all things being equal Melbourne and Sydney should be a tougher match up on paper than Collingwood to win a prelim. History suggests there’s a good chance Geelong has a comfy win over Collingwood but then fall over against a higher ranked Sydney or Melbourne in the prelim. We did well last year in that out prelim opponent (Geelong) was a tougher matchup than our qualifying opponent (Brisbane).
  6. Can someone please explain to me how hamstring injuries work? How does Jeremy Cameron only miss two weeks despite a confirmed strain and be available for the Pies final? I thought players typically miss 21 days with a strain, no matter how light? You never really hear of a player missing 2 weeks with a hammy strain. Oh well, it’s their risk to take. Could backfire and see him miss the rest of the finals.
  7. I'm already at the G after watching that video!
  8. They did. It came in during the 1986 season.
  9. And what happens to T Mac if Casey wins next week and we don't select him for the Sydney final?
  10. One hopes that 82 year old drought WON'T be broken on semi final weekend.
  11. I realise 1987 was ages ago but the last time the Dees and Swans met in a final we got 80,000 at the MCG. Not without a chance to get mid 70's IMO.
  12. https://afltables.com/afl/stats/games/1987/111619870913.html Won by 76 points but were actually trailing at quarter time
  13. Reading the above article it makes you feel as though Sydney didn't really have any intention in chasing a 50+ point win to get second and play us at the SCG. Longmire just wanted a win. Sounds like Sydney are backing in their 10-2-1 record against us at the MCG since 2002 and then get their prelim at home. Hopefully we have other ideas.
  14. The beauty about Geelong V Collingwood is at least we get to see one of DL's most despised clubs cop a loss in week 1 finals. If we win on Friday week, I hope Collingwood also win so we avoid Collingwood in a prelim. Would much rather Collingwood in a GF than a prelim where there's more neutrals and corporates.
  15. Particularly his game against Port in Alice. He needs to find another club if he's desperate to be a 22 game a year player next year.
  16. Only Carlton (1987) and Essendon (2000) made good on that stat. You won't ever see a more dominant club than Essendon of 2000 while Carlton's last last 8 or so home and away games and finals in 1987 were seriously impressive. So I'm guessing it was the Geelong and Freo games we were down at 3tr time.
  17. That is an incredible crowd for a semi final given GWS were the oppo. Based on those numbers you'd be looking at mid 60's as a pass mark for next Friday.
  18. I don't think he'll be back for the Sydney game and might not even be back for the prelim assuming we win, as they won't want to mess with a forward structure that is working well at the moment. As others have mentioned, Richo gave the impression on SEN radio that they're not in a massive hurry to rush him back. Mind you it's hard to make unforced changes when you've led a top 4 contender by 66 points at half time. In terms of T Mac's recovery and game minutes, it will actually be beneficial (just for T Mac not for Casey's flag chances!) for Casey to lose week 1 so he gets a second hit out the weekend we play Sydney. Then he'll be match fit for either an AFL semi or (hopefully) AFL prelim.
  19. Yeah agree with that. I'd say level 4 of the AFL members will be rather empty particularly around the half forward flank towards the city end. Will be plenty of room for walk ups on the night.
  20. And that’s exactly why the non competing club full AFL member allocation sold out in five minutes for the Pies V Eagles 2018 grand final. 7,000 of the 13,000 odd allocation were already allocated for Collingwood Gold AFL members. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I almost hope Collingwood beat Geelong next week just to avoid the stress of getting tickets for a potential Dees V Pies prelim. (Assuming we take care of business against Sydney)
  21. In our 2021 game, Sydney actually outnumbered us in the AFL members. We certainly do not have many AFL (MFC) members
  22. And to make matters worse, Collingwood supporters hog most of the AFL members reserve Going to be a nightmare getting tickets in the AFL members if we play them in a prelim. And if we do get tickets, it's going to be a nightmare sitting next to the ferals. Hopefully they go out in straight sets.
  23. Kicking 50 goal in a season probably had something to do with it...
  24. And the fact that two of our best wins of the season have come in the last four weeks. And the fact that we've had a brutal last 4 weeks as opposed to last year's last month where we had the struggling Gold Coast, West Coast and Adelaide. It's a very good achievement.
