  1. Is Hunter going take his spot because he won’t be replacing Langdon or Billings?
  2. Can't believe we got that many for a Wednesday night game, even factoring in the GF rematch.
  3. Can Petty, JVR and BBB all co-exist in the one forward line? I'd expect Petty to return for the Port game next week and possibly give BBB a rest. But could BBB return for the Adelaide game and share the forward line with Petty and JVR or is that too tall?
  4. He was also all over us in pre season (as well as prior years) while most others lead by David King and Matthew Lloyd were dropping off. And Anthony Hudson in Fox Footy's "First Crack" show has us as the number 1 ranked side in the league right now. As much as I like this, I'm not 100% in agreement with it.
  5. What were Cornes, McClure and Wilson honestly expecting for a Dees/Dogs game? 60,000? Give me strength.
  6. I reckon Sicily gets off due to the MRP framework at Hawthorn's disposal. All Hawthorn have to do is argue that the kick was low impact rather than medium. McGrath will help out Sicily and has already been on record by confirming on radio that the he received no bruising and incurred no pain from the kick. I think we need to prepare for Sicily to play on Saturday and move on.
  7. We could have gotten 60,000 but that would have required 10-15K more Dogs supporters rocking up. Unfortunately the MCC and AFL members are bereft of Dog supporters; and many standard Dogs members aren't rocking up to an away game and paying at the gate. Add to the fact that both clubs have had a disastrous off season from a PR perspective which may have contributed to a few staying away. 44k is a solid crowd given the history of attendances between the 2 clubs.
  8. Fair points. They'd need to ensure the games are all played at twilight and night if at all possible. From an entertainment and viewership perspective I have no doubt this will be a successful move. For years I've felt the AFL have given the NRL a head start in the first half of March.
  9. So they’re adding one more home and away game at the expense of that weekend of meaningless match simulations. What’s the issue?
  10. Given we bizarrely booed Baker last year who could not have done any less to tick of the supporter base, I’d imagine the answer is a clear yes.
  11. Coburg went 0-18 last year. I wonder if they’ve improved or we’re heading down the ladder? Hopefully BBB can keep us afloat for a couple of weeks so as not to rush Petty.
  12. We’re 4-0 in round 1 clashes against the Dogs.
  13. Hopefully they put in an improved performance this time around. Sydney are deplorable in grand finals under Horse.
  14. Hawthorn are probably going to have a text book MFC loss. Blow it through inaccuracy while the opposition kicks something absurd like 16.4.
  15. Can Sydney’s style of footy under Longmire stack up on Grand Final day? History suggests no. I think they’ll have an outstanding home and away season but I’d be looking at others to win it all.
  16. Is about to sign a 2 year deal. Next….
  17. BBB and T Mac made the cut.
  18. Agree with him but we somehow landed 100 points on Carlton the other week (albeit a practice match)
  19. Tomlinson played a solid and mistake free game, and was subsequently rewarded with yet another omission. I'd have to re-watch the game as I too thought McVee had an ordinary game. 20 possession is a good outcome. Like Rivers, I haven't yet seen a quantum leap from 2023 into the first 2 praccy matches and round 0.
  20. I can't see how we don't hold Petty to his contract for 2025 unless we have a proven and experienced key forward to replace him. The club owes it to itself and its members to look after its backyard first and foremost (which they didn't do with the Grundy trade) We should tell Adelaide that if a forward hasn't agreed to come to us before or during trade week this year, then we're not trading him.
  21. If it wasn’t 2 metres out it was all of 3 out but it was a shocker of a miss all the same. Would’ve given them a handy 13 point lead. Surprised Carlton didn’t pile on the goals in the last quarter given the opposition were down 3 players.
  22. So nothing surer now thab Lobb kicking 5 and being the difference.
  23. Tomlinson kept Lobb to 2 marks and 0 goals in the corresponding game last year so ofcourse we go ahead and drop him for this one.
  24. Go back and analyse the results last year when only Lever and May are our tall defenders above 195cm. We invariably lose, including the Pies final when he stubbornly dropped Turner and didn’t replace him with Tomlinson.
  25. Disappointed B Dale got up for them. He was understood to be in doubt.
