out Bruce (age 28)? That would leave Whelan (28) & Wheatley (26) as our only players over 26. I know we're blooding youth, looking to the future, but I think, especially with Green gone, Bruce is essential this Sunday.

I hate nothing more than when we play late on a Sunday. No more twilight games, no Sunday games at Subi. I have a young cousin from a Collingwood family who I've converted, and his even younger brother is susceptible to persuasion. Unfortunately, I can't take them along to Sunday games because the older brother plays footy. We desperately need to learn to win games on the road. Even in our not so distant better years we struggled (Subiaco and AAMI especially). We got thrashed at AAMI after our first win against the dockers this year, weren't much better in Brisbane and Sydney. The team is flying up on Friday and getting 2 good sleeps in before the game on Sunday. An important lesson Bailey has to impart to our young'ns - Don't fear the road! I originally voted for Watts, but I'm now in the Natanui camp. I'm sure I'll change my mind several times before draft day. Natanui will go first, so if we beat the eagles in rd 20, we're gonna miss out.

Schwarz interview J. Morton of the Hawks yesterday. Said something along the lines of "Cale will go onto bigger and better things. Not that you won't, but he wears a Melbourne jumper." Since David was a Hawks supporter as a kid, and he sounded like he was positively glowing after round 1 this year, I've wondered about where his loyalty lies - so for him to say something like this was great to hear!

I'm not sure, but I think I like yours more than my own. Either way, they're a huge improvement on the current travesty. I think more than ever it's important to remind the football world of our place in the game, of our heritage, and i believe the MFC logo as well as the year we were established do this. I was jumping around like a mad man in the final minutes of that game. A great win, made all the more important in the context of losing in elimination finals the two years previous. The Difference? Nietz.

If we want to match their physicality then Bode and CJ shouldn't play. But if we want to expose their pace then by all means bring them in, although if this is the case then Davey's absence will hurt.

With a few pacy midfielders around him McLean can be a great player, but he never looks a chance to run the opposition down from behind - when he's chasing, teammates up the field should try to corral or slow the player so he has a chance of reaching them. He's playing some great footy at th moment, and in a better team he would make Sheahen's top 50 easily. Had he not broken his foot last year, who knows? maybe he would have been our one rep at the State game.

Bode and CJ replacing Davey and Morton? That doesn't fill me with confidence. There's a huge drop in ability there.

I wouldn't be too cocky. After Lyon calling a large part of the team soft, every man out there will have something to prove - to his teammates, coach, captain, the media and every saints member. I expect them to hit us hard.
