Are the expectations of this team in excess of what they can possibly deliver this season? While flags are ever won in June, the gap between our best and our worst has widened measurably this year compared to 2021, 2022 and 2023.

When you have everything to play for and do this - you’re a disgrace of an outfit. Every single line is out of its depth and playing below itself. There are lots of reasons why we’re this bad but we don’t have a single line that is performing and that’s just abysmal. We have a right to deserve more effort. I had a bad feeling that losing Langdon for personal reasons would hurt us and it really did on game day. I hope he’s back next week. I know the season is long but it’s hard to be optimistic about our chances when you get a bath from the Eagles off a 10 day break. I just don’t think we’re genuine contenders anymore.

Wondering how much it will hurt not having Langdon…

I was really impressed by Langdon’s game. Was used differently that usually by Goody given Trac played mostly forward but I thought he was really effective. Also wondered whether the panel members noticed the heat of this game as it seems to have been multiple occasions of players mouthing off at each other like Gawn to Pittonet and Clarry to the Carlton player who got a free kick on the wing. How much of this was a distraction? I do wonder how dirty the Carlton players were scragging us or whether it was purely a back and forth of words.

Losing Salem so early in the game was a critical factor to our demise on Thursday in my opinion. To lose a key experienced distributor off half back and someone who could have taken midfield minutes to give our mids a chop out really hurt us. I’d love the panel’s thoughts on the significance of losing Salem and how we can cover his absence moving forward.

Unsurprising given the AFL have [censored] us with 3 games in 13 days.
