By definition Maynard was careless by jumping into a smother directly at the player and then chooses to lift his shoulder to connect with Brayshaw’s head. It’s careless and impact was severe = 3 weeks. Maynard and his defenders like Dangerfield can get [censored].

Collingwood fans cheering a player who knocked one of ours out and booing Viney after he got head butted by the same player. Seriously Jesus Wept - they’re not called the Filth for nothing. I will always Boo Maynard from this day on. So disappointing to not take our chances but [censored] proud of the boys for fighting until the end and making it close. Will the same game plan work against the Pies as it did on King’s Birthday? Will we try to strangle the corridor and stop Collingwood’s run and carry? If it rains as expected on Thursday, in what ways would it hurt Collingwood’s game style? My final observation is that we well and truly have the ‘wood’ over the Pies in terms of finals historically. According to the AFL Tables website, the Demons have won 16, drawn 1 and lost 5 out of 22 finals we’ve played against Collingwood.

I’d love Pickett to go berserk and kick 5 or 6 on the night. Re weather. Pies rely on quick ball movement and handballs. Good luck doing that in the rain. It’ll hurt them too. Last thing we want is a shoot out with them. The weather will slow the game down.

The MCC should have loyalty points to determine access to seating during finals and which club you support. Why should for example a Richmond MCC member or a MFC/MCC who went to no games during H/A have the same level of access to a Demons finals as an MFC/MCC member who has gone to 9 games at the G all year?

So Grundy not likely to get to Port then if we wanted to trade him.

Best thing for us is McKay stays at North. Eagles would be afraid they’d take Curtin with Pick 2 if they have up pick 1.

Luke Darcy and BT 🙄 Two ‘commentators’ who can’t stand the Melbourne Footy Club. Unsurprisingly how often they get to call our games.

Don’t think the club has gotten plaudits for being able to make top four with a tough draw and arguably one of our worst years in terms of injuries. The ability to win 16 games despite having key stars out for key periods of the year including: Petty, TMac, Oliver, Fritsch, Brown, Salem, Gawn, Viney, Spargo, Smith and now Melksham is remarkable. Injuries play a huge factor in a successful season and despite the horror run we’ve had we’ve still found a way to put a good team on the field. Our high performance and rehab teams deserve a lot of praise in my opinion.

Absolutely [censored] luck with injuries all year. Amazing we’re fourth and two finals at the MCG. Hope there’s 95,000 but will probably take a hit in turnout if Thursday night. Atmosphere will be electric!
