Also means lower membership numbers too and ground attendances. All affect the bottom line when we should be booming. But, let's hope this winning streak goes on for many years!

Its a great read for a Melbourne supporter but I take these article's with a grain of salt. The fact is, everything you do when you are winning is seen as "courageous, outstanding, honest, leadership" blah blah While if you're down the bottom every action is "disresepctful, weak, delusional, selfish". The reporters just jump on the bandwagon, and make the story fit their narrative.

Love the positivity on this thread but the Dogs are the team to beat this year. They have been destroying teams while we have been just getting across the line against average teams. Hopefully the Dees but I think the Dogs are just too good.

Really enjoy the podcast guys, particularly the guests interviews each week. When listening to Roffey discuss the new home base, I definitely felt a change in sentiment compared to Bartlett's, and even Pert's interviews. Roffey seemed a lot less confident that we would get a home base in the MCG vicinity, her comment was along the lines of "whatever the answer is from the Government, we just need that answer soon". Whereas Pert and Bartlett have been a lot stronger with their comments, in effect saying that we won't accept a home base anywhere other than the MCG precinct. A bit frustrating that the dialogue appears to be changing after Pert and Bartlett have led us to believe we wouldn't be moving far.

Slim? We are already within a bees.... If we are pushing for a GF surely there will be a rush for memberships late in the season to guarantee a seat. Even in 2020 we managed an extra 2000 memberships after the end of May and there was no chance of even seeing a game.

4500 to hit a record... what are the chances? Definitely sets us up for a good year next year, amazing to see how 2018's result affected the 2019 tally. Success breeds success.

True, and he's the kind of player that other footballers want to play with - teammates will re-sign for less or come from other clubs to play with him. Let's put in in perspective - he could go down as one of our greatest ever.

The whole Roos / Goodwin debate is a moot point. The fact is no one has done anything yet. We are in round 7 and coming off 9th and 17th placed seasons. Let's wait untill we are a successful club (ie winning premierships) before we start deciding who did what.

No I don't, but Neitz reached his 300 in his second last season anyway. I'd just hate it if Jones got an extra season just to get to 300. He is a superstar and will be cheering him on regardless on Saturday night!

I agree with you and unfortunately I think that will put an asterisk next to his 300 games. No doubt he is an absolute legend of our club but if they drop him after game 300 then it diminishes the prestige of the 300 club and is an insult David Neitz.

I heard a few of the players saying last year that one short break doesn't really affect them, it's wen you start getting 2+ short breaks in a row that you really start to feel it.

Not a chance in hell Jones gets dropped this week. The club will be selling it all week - to the fans to come along to the 'G, and to the players as motivation. It will be milked till the last drop! Can't wait till Saturday it's going to be a huge game!
