Wildcard Round
Yeah it’s effectively making it a top 6. 7-10 don’t get a week off and play an extra to the death final. If 9th/10th play an interstate 7th/8th then they travel back and forth. If they win, they might have to travel again to play another interstate 5th/6th. Finishing 5th/6th looks a lot better now they’ll play a softened 7-10.

Wildcard Round
So last year, Sydney finished 10th on 48 points whilst both Hawks (8th) and GCS (7th) finished on 60 points. If Sydney got into the finals by beating either GCS or Hawks in this round, that doesn’t sit right at all.

2026 Pre-Season Ladder Predictions
Yes indeed. I think it’s going to take a season or so for a whole new midfield group to find cohesion together. Excited to see the growth over the year!

2026 Pre-Season Ladder Predictions
Apologies for my sieve like memory, but over the last few seasons, did we play any games without both Tracc and Clarry on the park? Did Clarry play all the way through Traccs injury in 24’?

32.11 seems like the kind of accuracy we could use.

I would have thought it’s the players responsibility/choice to tell their clubs?

Surprised Kentfield is starting 18 and Culley isn’t even on the bench. I thought Culley showed he has some X-factor about him.- Sam Cumming
Interesting comment, what differs between U-18’s and Men’s league that allows more/less space to work in?- 2026 Pre-Season Ladder Predictions
Blues fans are out for blood so if he stinks up the first 5 rounds, it will be a bloody long season for him. Or short.- 2026 Pre-Season Ladder Predictions
I’m guessing we’ll be bottom 6 whilst King gets his game plan enacted etc. Pies out of the 8. Who of Clarkson/Scott/Voss will survive next year.- Big Cox
- AFL Draft 2025: Pick 30 (formerly 37)
Why do you wish to strip me of joy? Is it too much to expect that Fred becomes a 5 time premiership player for us with 100% kicking efficiency?- AFL Draft 2025: Pick 30 (formerly 37)
‘Lethal on both sides of the body’ That is all.- Aidan Schubert
Confusing player. If I look at that footage of him and think ‘this is a forward’, I’m not impressed. If I look at it thinking ‘this is a ruckman’, I’m a little bit curious to be honest. If he’s going to make it, I reckon it’ll be as more of a utility type player than a dedicated ruck or forward, but as Gator mentioned, the fact he could be picked up this high in the draft order isn’t filling me with confidence about the quality this year. I don’t follow draft stuff that closely, but from those highlights, he looks like he’d be a late 20’s pick in a ‘normal’ year.- Aidan Schubert
Do you reckon Schubert in fact did not have a neck? Or did the painter do him dirty? Eternal no neck.- Welcome to Demonland: Oscar Berry

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1AhFDxBv8X/?mibextid=wwXIfr Good job Dees. More of the shnitz posting- New Rules For AFL 2026 - All SEVEN of ‘em!
Don’t wait for the players to get back to position in 6-6-6. If players aren’t where they need to be after a goal, no warnings, PAY A FREE KICK. Ball ups - just throw the ball in at boundary throw ins and throw it up at stoppages. Essentially as soon as they get it. No ruck nominations at all, just have a rule that only one player from each team can go into the contest. If it’s Gawn vs Caleb Daniel then so be it. If you want a ruck at every contest, then the two best rucks on both teams will have to cover more ground. Stop putting the onus on the umpires to learn more and more rules/interpretations. Put it back on the coaches/teams to figure out how to adapt.- Our Social Media Presence
I think Gus would actually be perfect (and Max once he retires) to lean into making shorts that are a bit of a [censored] take or memeing on other teams and at times ourselves. Gus is widely liked and seems to have a cheeky sense of humour so that could work. Outrage gets clicks, that’s just how the algorithm works (and why the world is hell, haha). So if you can walk the line between taking the [censored] but not being overly vitriolic about it, you can draw in a lot of non-Dees supporters. Gorringe has actually hit that sweet spot because he pots everyone (including Carlton and the AFL) but also praises other teams too at times. A lot of people say he’s a [censored], but that misses the point. He’s a [censored] that gets a lot of engagement which is all that really matters in internet world. This exercise isn’t about promoting Dees upfront, it’s about getting people to click on a person associated with the Dees that flies the flag, making AFL content, mostly to non-Dees fans. Get people to like a Melbourne supporting person. I’m a musician and coming back from a few years hiatus, that landscape has changed. It’s entirely social media now. You don’t exist unless you have a strong social media presence. So in saying that, we basically don’t exist compared to a lot of other clubs. Only my opinion though, I’m deffo not an expert.- Our Social Media Presence
