  1. For those who have young kids... Bernie and 'Zap' from an ABC kids show 'Hoopler Doopler'.
  2. The Brown Paper Baggers are in town 🤑
  3. De Goey and umpiring the difference. Great effort GWS, we should take a page or two out of their textbook for next year, GWS deserved to win.
  4. James Podsiadly 2.0? Could be handy at HF if Dees lower eyes more instead bomb it in deep. Seems to roost it regardless with or against breeze 👍
  5. Hunch. GC set to get another KF in draft, they are pretty stocked for forwards, out of contract next year, from Vic, most Vic club have geinuine KFs. We have a few players retired/traded this year, Tmac and BBB probably gone by next year, fair bit of salary cap being opened, we're in premiership window. I think we can pry him out.
  6. Dees will persevere with current crop and will go hard for Ben King end of next year.
  7. Dear Demonlanders, Valé Frank Vearing - 21.11.1943 - 25.05.2023 Post made in respect to a M.F.C player, to his family, friends and former teammates. Melbourne Football Club: 1965-1966. Played as a rover, wore #26. Games: 11 Goals: 5. Two x Melbourne Football Club Reserves Best and Fairest 1965 and 1966. Career highlights and stats - http://demonwiki.org/Frank+Vearing Best game was a 15 disposal, 5 marks, 3 goals 1 behind effort in a 30 point loss, during a round 4 1966 MCG match against South Melbourne - https://afltables.com/afl/stats/games/1966/111619660514.html Started and finished his career with Epping before a leg injury ended his career. One may even argue another great career highlight was turning down an invitation from Collingwood. Personally, Frank was a nice, kind, humble man and thank him as one of the people to influence me to barrack for the Demons. Best memory with Frank, when I was a kid watching the 2000 qualifying final against Carlton. Despite all of my family writing them off at half time, Frank calmly said, "We'll come back." The rest is history as we all know. Lastly, I'm so happy he got to see the Dees win a flag before he left us. As far as I am aware, the M.F.C has been contacted in regards to his passing. Valé Frank Vearing, may you rest in peace.
  8. I'm giving him 2 years of injury-riddled seasons before Freo salary dump his bottom and he gets picked up by the Pies for pick 13 🤭
  9. Good to see Melksham gave Jackson back his jumper...
  10. Yes, I find this definitely the case, Poles do love Aussies. They come across or perceived as cold but are very hospitable people and if you use some basic Polish there they really appreciate the effort, they understand it's a notoriously hard language to speak! That is awesome! I love hearing obscure stories like this. I'd imagine not many would even have heard of Aussie rules football in Poland and seeing some locals is Dees apparel is amazing haha. I took a football with me in 2014 to Poland and was kicking it around with my cousins on an overgrown, run down soccer pitch in a village 100kms east of Kraków to the onlookers of locals. They seemed very bewildered and intrigued by the ball 🤣 Haha. Gil said he's busy tidying up a few lose ends before he leaves his position, but he's sending us our cheques in the mail for our promotional works 😂😉
  11. Ja też kocham Jayden 🥰 (I also love Jayden). Haha, Polish is a funny language, especially translating it, I was wanting it to be 'goodbye and take care' but 'hold on' has the same effect hehe. Hope Poland is treating your son well! 😊
  12. Hunt says, do widzenia i trzymaj się 😉
  13. Earliest memories of non-household names started around 2000 for me. Think few already mentioned: Ross Funcke. Steven Pitt. Chris Lamb. Craig Ellis. Shannan Motlop. David Rodan. Viv Michie. Jimmy Toumpous. Too many players around 2007ish to mid 2010s to mention in this thread 🤣 Few recent ones, Harley Balic, Harley Bennell, Kyle Dunkley. Luke Jackson, only because it felt like he was at the club for 5 minutes 🤭
  14. Who's Kozzy going to borrow a headband from now if he forgets to bring his gameday? Oh yeah, Naughton 🤭
  15. Weideman should persist and do a pre-season in a ruck role, and if he gets his chance next year rotate with Gawn as ruck-forward. If the tactics or methods next year improves with not bombing it in into 50 and lower their eyes more often and actually hit up leads he could be more than handy. He's a pretty acurate set-shot, more reliable than Gawn anyway 😁
  16. Only time to cry from happiness other than birth of my children. It felt like the tears released the years of torment and anguish and brought so much joy, such a unique feeling. I could think back to the times growing up during school, workplaces, etc where I'm the only Dees supporter and copped it and thinking my children going for the mighty Dees won't be considered a form of child abuse these days 😁. It was a surreal moment, from the very start, season 2021 felt like things just went our way or was meant to be. The next day, we went to a park and I really appreciated complete strangers approaching us, even Bulldogs fans and saying how happy they were for Melbourne fans.
  17. 1. Kozzy, finally will take Mark of the Year (century) on top of Luke Jackson's head in R1 trip to Perth (theatre); 2. Oliver or Petracca to win the Brownlow, both either way, they will finish either 1, 2 in the count; & 3. Dees to bounce back and beat the Blues in a thriller in the GF (just have a feeling about them?🤷‍♂️).
  18. We were close to winning a premiership prior to the 6-6-6 rule. That rule stopped the fast, attacking and ruggered game style that could afford kicks not being pin point as they do now because of opposition players being in the space where there used to be paddocks of space for Demons to kick goals. 6-6-6 was the single most detrimental thing to happen to Demons winning a flag and now fallen in the pack because players not skilled enough to cater for the rule change. The misery continues for now.
