  1. Holy heck! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
  2. If my quick maths is correct, 4th quarters are 125 points for and 4 points against, the last 3 rounds the opposition in fact hasn't scored a point in the 4th. Incredible.
  3. No team has kicked a goal against Dees in 4th quarter this season! 🤯
  4. Also, Hore is an absolute jet, putting in an AFLW B&F season.
  5. There a reason the main camera broadcasting from other side of oval?
  6. This opens up the squad gets a medal debate. I think it would be hard for AFL not to not award Jordan a medal at the time, because if someone got hurt he'd go on the field and play, unfortunately he didn't get to play on the field and was the quirk of the rules at the time. Bit different now, as sub can be used tactically not just for an injury, which has been a better rule change of recent times.
  7. What I like is he showed some serious composure for a first year player, reminds me of the composure you see from Pendlebury in the sense that he never looks rushed and he has a nice kick. Looks more a future midfielder that would be nice to use as a distibutor inside 50. Think he was a midfielder in juniors. Pick 18 in rookie draft, absolute steal.
  8. Pretty obvious he wasn't expecting or deserving it, didn't even have a speech prepared.
  9. Every type of emotional experienced. It was very stressful at the time, but looking back now you could make a movie about it! We were down on the canvass with Bont's 3rd then we kicked 3 goals in a minute twice!! Could hardly believe what was going on, it was spine tingling stuff, some of the most dominant football ever seen in the 3rd, then party time in the 4th! Happy anniversary everyone 😁
  10. I have to pretend to barrack for them as my Mother-in-law goes for them, she kindly goes for Melbourne when Pies aren't playing, but still, I can't genuinely do it. If any consolation, succesfully converted my wife to Dees years ago, could of argued a deal breaker if not 🤣 Anyway, go Lions 🤣😂
  11. I think the difference is that thesedays we look to be an established good side now, both on and off field, which has taken a long time to achieve. Sure, we had some good teams between flags but it's different right now. People will come and go, naturalny we will fluctuate but the difference will be, we will more likely to be relevant and within striking distance of a flag. The comp is too even thesedays to replicate multiple, successive flags. IMO our list is in good shape, given our fringe players are mostly startup players in other teams and the fringe players have improved over several years, we have the luxury to get 'needs' based players for a while. It's also great to see the AFLW team dominating, think there is a bit of bridiging between good side to happen there still, so I reckon we are likely to see another 'golden age' with them, I can see multiple flags coming our way, regardless of AFL or AFLW sides. Gee, we were up to our eyeballs this season, few better execution of skills in the finals and a bit of luck with injuries we'd have another! But, we're in a good sweet spot for sustained success and personally happy to have seen an AFL and AFLW flag when I thought I'd never see one gives you some perspective and appreciation. Go Dees, bring on '24!
  12. Someone's a bit enthusiastic on the siren button 🤣
  13. Wouldn't mind if we used the tactic of volleyballing the ball into open space and surging numbers to ball then start our chains a bit more next season, Brisbane doing this well tonight reducing Blues intense pressure on ball carrier.
  14. For those who have young kids... Bernie and 'Zap' from an ABC kids show 'Hoopler Doopler'.
  15. The Brown Paper Baggers are in town 🤑
  16. De Goey and umpiring the difference. Great effort GWS, we should take a page or two out of their textbook for next year, GWS deserved to win.
  17. James Podsiadly 2.0? Could be handy at HF if Dees lower eyes more instead bomb it in deep. Seems to roost it regardless with or against breeze 👍
  18. Hunch. GC set to get another KF in draft, they are pretty stocked for forwards, out of contract next year, from Vic, most Vic club have geinuine KFs. We have a few players retired/traded this year, Tmac and BBB probably gone by next year, fair bit of salary cap being opened, we're in premiership window. I think we can pry him out.
  19. Dees will persevere with current crop and will go hard for Ben King end of next year.
  20. Dear Demonlanders, Valé Frank Vearing - 21.11.1943 - 25.05.2023 Post made in respect to a M.F.C player, to his family, friends and former teammates. Melbourne Football Club: 1965-1966. Played as a rover, wore #26. Games: 11 Goals: 5. Two x Melbourne Football Club Reserves Best and Fairest 1965 and 1966. Career highlights and stats - http://demonwiki.org/Frank+Vearing Best game was a 15 disposal, 5 marks, 3 goals 1 behind effort in a 30 point loss, during a round 4 1966 MCG match against South Melbourne - https://afltables.com/afl/stats/games/1966/111619660514.html Started and finished his career with Epping before a leg injury ended his career. One may even argue another great career highlight was turning down an invitation from Collingwood. Personally, Frank was a nice, kind, humble man and thank him as one of the people to influence me to barrack for the Demons. Best memory with Frank, when I was a kid watching the 2000 qualifying final against Carlton. Despite all of my family writing them off at half time, Frank calmly said, "We'll come back." The rest is history as we all know. Lastly, I'm so happy he got to see the Dees win a flag before he left us. As far as I am aware, the M.F.C has been contacted in regards to his passing. Valé Frank Vearing, may you rest in peace.
