  1. It'll either be. A close one and go either way. (Dogs if that's the case) OR The dogs will absolutely smash them by 40+
  2. Think you answered the question as to why his attitude is a bit shaky. His from Colstream, played for Casey and if the only clubs that are interested in him are interstate teams (Sydney), then I can understand he'd be a bit bemused not being re-signed to Melbourne. They obviously don't want to give him what his management is asking.
  3. Couldn't agree more. Veterans & Draftees/Rookies = 1-2 years Fringe, Depth & Role = 2-3 years Bonafide Stars = 4-5 years No one should be given 5+ year contracts, we only have 3 players on our list that are/were worthy of 4-5 year contracts... Petracca, Oliver and Gawn. No doubt Viney and his management are trying to sew him up for the rest of his career in a longer term contract and I hope Melbourne doesn't have a bar of it, he should be getting 3 years max, but don't be surprised if Geelong are tabling a 4+ year contract to him.
  4. I 100% think Rivers should and could be given a go in the midfield. I was looking the other day at what other clubs have that we don't have and the glaring player was a Pendlebury type.. 190cm, 90kg, composed and slick user of the ball. Rivers is exactly that, 188cm, 85kg, composed and elite ball user. He also had a point of brilliance in today's game, Essendon were well on top and he (Rivers) received the ball from the contest right in the centre square and managed to compose, look at some options and find a target out on the wing. He has also played some scratch matches in the midfield. Would love for them to explore that option next year, but only if we can secure another class HBF like Saad.
  5. Comparing players who haven't played a game this year, to one who has consistently played games, good move. Blocked.
  6. Turn it up. Was in the squad for weeks in a row, didn't drop in form, all of a sudden out of the team, no mention as to why. Pull your head out of your [censored].
  7. Lockhart not even an EMG this week, would love the club to bring forward some transparency on what's happening with him.
  8. Three of those players haven't even played. ????
  9. Season has been hampered by injury, if he can resolve those injury woes before pre-season (he started last pre-season in rehab from memory). Then yes.
  10. You should spend a day on the inner of an elite sporting club and see how your mindset is received.
  11. Because we finished 17th in 2019. Any expectation you had was optimism, not realism.
  12. Could not disagree anymore. How is LJ not ready? Just because you don't play a game in 5 weeks, doesn't automatically equate to you not being ready. He has clearly proven he is more than up to AFL standard from a handful of games this year, if the club says he is ready, then bring him in. Otherwise leave Brown. Weid competed well and he was involved in multiple score involvements. Just because you aren't hitting the scoreboard, doesn't mean you're out of form. He can get involved in other ways, which he did, we still found a way to kick a winning score? Imagine when he's firing as well (which he's proven he can... multiple times). Every game you play is about cohesion, clearly this is the way the senior coach sees it as well, having mentioned it multiple times. You achieve cohesion by playing the main stay players when and how ever you can, not fringe players whose only purpose, is to fill a backup.
  13. That's called a goal, not a perspective.
  14. Would much prefer Weid. Brown is not the future and I would not want to waste anymore time on him to be honest. Should never have been put on our list and the quicker he is off, the more we can focus on creating cohesion between players who are going to be there for 3 years+ Instead of picking him up, I would have much preferred to see J. Smith play as a third tall/back up tall this season in the forward line.
  15. Absolutely none of that correlates to the unintelligent line 'wasted year'. You clearly prefer to look at things through a pessimistic glass, not a realistic one.
  16. I'd much rather LJ in over Brown, even after not playing for 5 weeks. If Burgo says he's good to go and can play, then he's good to go and can play.
  17. Hard to see it as a waste of a year, when we finished 17th in 2019 and will most likely finish 8-10th in the cluster [censored] that is 2020. How much inconsistency did we come into this year with? Players that didn't/hardly played for MFC in 2019. May Tomlinson Langdon J. Smith Brown Jackson Rivers Pickett Bennell Vanders Sparrow Now how many of those have become a mainstay in this years team? You turn all of those players into regular players and expect miracles? Every AFL premiership side in... as long as I can remember. Have had one ingredient more obvious than any other, cohesion. The spine of the team have played between 50-100 games together. You can't keep chopping and changing and then expect results, doesn't happen that way.
  18. Because the team looked significantly better with Weid and LJ in the forward line. Someone has to go, Brown is the other tall, he's the one to go.
  19. Harbrow and Holman right at the top of this list.
  20. Not in the slightest. If we weren't so reliant on him playing deep forward in 2019, he may have been given opportunity there. Given he has played both ends in his career, I just don't see the club at this point giving him another spot and a chance to claim it.
  21. I just think it's too late for that now unfortunately. If they could pull it off, I'd be all about it. But it seems that Langdon/Baker on the wings with either Tomlinson/ANB/Vanders/Bennell as the chop out is the way forward. I also think if Bedford can't find a spot in the forward line, he should definitely be tried on the wing as well, he performed very well in our 3km and when he was playing for Casey last season, a lot of it was through the Wing position. (that and the forward line).
  22. The footy IQ is the main thing for Langdon and it's been brought up multiple times by commentators (ex AFL players), he holds structure and plays as a genuine winger. I haven't seen enough footy IQ from Hunt to prove he can do that, he gets sucked into the contests far too easily.
  23. Hunt, if not Brown. Understand that Brown played a good game, but he isn't the future of the club, neither is Hunt, so would much rather LJ in over either of those two. Going forward I would rather see it like this. In: LJ, Harmes Out: Brown, Hunt I like the look of Hunt up forward, but he just goes missing far too often (ala Geelong game earlier in the season).
  24. Would prefer to see LJ and Weid in together again, they worked brilliantly.
  25. I thought Kozzie's best effort was when he received the tap from Hunt for the goal. What wasn't picked up on, was that he was a part of the turnover in the defensive 50 and busted [censored] to run the entire length of the ground to be on the receiving end of that tap that eventually led to the goal. If he didn't make such an effort to run the entire ground, that goal probably doesn't eventuate.
