POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs Richmond
If he is prepared to do it, i think there is a real role for him as a mentor and (effectively) on-field coach at Casey, as well as continuing his involvement with the women. He is clearly a wonderful person. As i see it, his move to the Dees has been win-win; he got a premiership medal, and he helped us get them.

What They Are Saying at Punt Road
Im with this. I thought they were fair and largely stayed out of it. The exception was the centre bouncing which was disastrous and directly cost us a goal in one instance, and before halftime (it changed after the break) they were curiously reluctant to recall the bounce.

No, we want to finish second, and if we win our games, and Port lose to Adelaide tonight and Geelong at Geelong (on the rebound) next week, then it is very achievable.

And will be barracking hard for Adelaide tonight. If they can win, and then Port Adelaide go to face Geelong on the rebound, 2nd will be up for grabs.

All good for us. Now we need to get the job done tomorrow.

Simon Goodwin Coaching Record
The team of 1956, which has a fair argument for being the most dominant team in the history of the game, lost matches. In 1963 the premiers, Geelong, lost to Fitzroy and IIRC it was Fitzroy's only win for the season. Good teams do lose matches. To expect us to win every week, even against poorer sides, is unrealistic and doing so in no way damages our premiership credentials. On the other hand, winning against good sides, e g Collingwood on KB, establishes those credentials.

Contracted Tomlinson Looks to Move On?
For sure, on this site it will be - Too conservative playing favourites tired what are the match committee doing? what is Goody doing? (Tick one of the above)

Contracted Tomlinson Looks to Move On?
Surely after Sunday he stays!! He is contracted and we should hold him to it and PLAY him! Apart from anything else, in a team where our disposal is iffy, his is a real plus 90% of the time. I love the idea of him, Salo, McVee all distributing out of the backline.

Are you a Melbourne supporter? I think if there has been another minute e we would have won by over a goal.

How much longer before the West Coast administration realises that the players are simply not playing for their coach? And when that happens, inevitably, the coach goes.

Contracted Tomlinson Looks to Move On?
He should not have been dropped after the KB game. He was back to his form of early 2021. We don't have a replacement for him: Turner is an interceptor, and is not nearly as strong as Tommo one on one. He should be our permanent third tall defender, releasing Petty to the forward line, where he was playing when we were the highest scoring team in the league. That was not a coincidence; although Petty was still learning, he was contesting and defending in the forward line extremely well. And Petty can make serious mistakes, which cost goals in defence; in attack they simply weaken a scoring opportunity.

Farewell James Jordon
I think Goodwin thought he should act in accordance with the rules.

Farewell James Jordon
To my mind, he will always be a fair to middling player and never a great player. We should have a good hand in the draft coming up and we can get potential greats. And I have no doubt he will go to another club, will probably get a regular game, will never be a champion.

Damian Barrett
Anyone who thinks Grundy was a mistake is forgetting the period of - what was it, 4 weeks? - when Max was injured. And his game on Friday shows how good he is when he is not getting mauled physically every week. Going back to that fool Barrett, my main gripe is his insane Geelong bias when he is employed to be a neutral observer. And his constant underrating of Melbourne.

I don't know Bernie did that. It makes me like him even more.

I couldn't believe it - he's at it again!!! Jeremy Cameron is "ready to pounce" - on what basis?? On Friday he was pumping up a home Final at that ....hole of a ground. Now he's got them winning a flag on the basis of one win against a team that are clearly pretenders! I can't stand him.
