  1. If Clarry is out, I don't mind. He needs to get his hand right. He is too important for the rest of the season. I'd like to see Petty play a somewhat defensive role on Harris Andrews. Keep him out of it and Brisbane are in real trouble.
  2. I suspect he is much healthier this year - his knee is more under control.
  3. I have a completely different recollection of that game.
  4. As far as I have seen, Turner for TMac is not like-for-like. Turner is a floating interceptor, not someone who could play on eg Harry McKay. And although I always hope for the best, so far he has done nothing in the one or two games he has played to justify pinning our hopes on him.
  5. I'm on the side of resting Clarry -- he is clearly hampered and we need him to be right - so let the hand heal. I know it is not like for like, but perhaps bring Tommo back in as he is pretty versatile. Maybe bring Salo back into the middle - even though I don't think it really suits him and put Tommo in defence. Perhaps Salo could play a run-with role on Neale.
  6. One has to ask: is anyone surprised by this s..t?
  7. Hope you are right. Max is still at 100/1 - same as Grundy which is ridiculous - and I am on him.
  8. 8 to 3 frees so dar
  9. I mentioned that incident in another thread. Apparently, Viney was NOT intimidated by a much older, seasoned veteran breaking his jaw - he wanted to go on with it! Too many bandages in the team as they ran out for my liking
  10. The link to the highlights has gone from my thread - could it be put back up? He was amazing. The clash of cultures just didn't work for him.
  11. I would rest him this week if there is any real problem - and it seems that there is. The Adelaide mids are not threatening. He is too valuable to risk.
  12. As he should. It is clearly a deliberate tactic that some teams are adopting : to physically attack him at every chance. It was great to see an umpire actually give him the protection the rules call for.
  13. I see JVR as a CHF rather than FF. If Petty does leave, it is worth noting that Jeffo was marking like a champion ( but not kicking like one) at Casey today.
  14. All this depressing stuff in the papers AGAIN!!! Please, come out tonight and show the world how good we are!!
  15. He regularly nails those shots. He might even be the best in the league at them.
  16. My two favourite Viney moments - one is that tremendous goal after wrenching the ball off McInerny. But the other, which I only heard about, was from before he played AFL. He was playing under age in the VFL and, as we know, there are often some pretty seasoned older players in that comp. One of them - I think from Geelong- hit Jack, then aged 16 or 17, and broke his jaw. Was Jack intimidated? - no, he wanted to go on with it!! His father was a great player. Jack is better. I hope he has lots of kids!!

  18. Well, Collingwood weren't that good! Brisbane, at least at the moment, are totally [censored]!
  19. I wanted Collingwood to win on the basis that Brisbane are a bigger threat - but then, watching them celebrate a goal, I can't stand it. Nup.
  20. Of course, there are heaps of them around.
  21. This post can't be right. After all, many on DLand know that our coach can't coach, our players are cooked, our culture and (therefore our collective will to win) is stuffed - sorry, BPA, you've got it all wrong.....
  22. Praying for a draw
  23. Surely the Sydney win over Collingwood should ( but it won't) shut some of the doomsayers up - those who said, Melbourne is gone, we should be more like Collingwood etc etc.. They beat us by 22 pts on their home ground, with conditions they are used to which suited them. Collingwood lost by 33 pts on their home ground (yuk!) in conditions that suited Collingwood perfectly. Sydney is a very good team; they always are; losing to them is not the end of our season!
