  1. ✔️ Launceston IMO is the wrong location, the past cheap-alternative, of one size fits all. It doersn't work.... they do need two grounds imv, one in either Burnie or Devonport. I would go for Devonport, so all can travel from across Tasmania, to get there. Devonport & Hobart home grounds. There is hope , and Tassy is a growing market, with an influx of people moving there.
  2. Eds been sniffing someone elses crack, again. He's trying to steal the march and the thunder from our ideas... by getting in first. We need it, we want it, its our idea. From years back.
  3. No, It isn't taxpayers money.! It is the Australian nations revenue. It belongs to babies and the geriatrics , the teens & the pensioners... every bit as much as the partime tax payers who mostly rip off the system anyway. By the way, do you think much of the money belongs to Harvey Norman, and Andrew Forest, Gina Whineheart, et al.? I think not. Call it revenue... and stop naming it as tax collected... Because its nation building revenue. It belongs to all of us.
  4. should a need arise.
  5. Yep, I see your point. and usually they could raffle two spots from about 10 - 12 clubs per past season, apart from bottom 4... But they tend to go for top 4 clubs, which is the big problem.
  6. This is the sort of thinking that turned this league into a two tiered system of have's, and have-not's. All very well on paper, but the long-term is damage. Just making the bigger clubs, bigger. The proof has been before us for 40 yrs. A marketing guru's delight is not necessarily sustainable.
  7. JSmith imv, is not a tall; and not a small, obviously. I my mind, I think JSmith will be our new, to become competent, 'swingman'_ An ex basketballer, so should have good hands and mind in close, probably could play in all sectors For/Bck/Mids. I see him as a medium who plays tall, and good below his hands.? My tall forwards bracket are TMc, Weide, Petty, MBrown, LJackson, May, Gawn, Preuss.
  8. Harry Petty came on last year, giving other marking options up front. And with TMac & Weide, and add LJackson to the mix, I can understand Smith getting pushed back. Mitch Brown another tall forward, and the tall marking area is well covered. I think our structure up front will be different from the last seasons. With more pace added, and more marking. I think Petracca will rotate from bench, more often. Add Hannan and AVB to the forwardline, often.
  9. Hannan might be doing a lot of off legs fitness work, keeping the miles down.? Chronic knee meniscus and all.
  10. I'm glad you grew the beard back, Max.
  11. Exactly, 'AtboG' The scans will be to confirm 2ndary injured areas, if any, and severity of injury.
  12. Not the last trade season. The coming trading season; possibly back to Qld, and we trade another mature one in, with more skills. Who knows, we might be able to deal with the Suns come end of 2020.? I think Preussy will get a bit of game time to build his game in 2020. Which might add something to his market value. Look forward and upward. Not stay as we are.
  13. That won't happen. And I won't be around long enough for that to occur.
  14. I think maybe Bedford wants a winging position, in the starting 22 ? ?

  16. OK... its a lot of rot then, Bin. fair enough you'ld know. It's all about attitudes, and we all have impacted our kids poorly over the years, having a detrimental effect on them, and so their careers.
  17. The antidote to too much blind loyalty in support. Some pay it back automatically; and other need to be shoved off their 'security blanket perch' they have attached themselves to. Petracca is the latter. As was Gawn for the first half of his time with us... and Petracca has reacted positively so far, to the stinging criticism... as deep down he knew he wasn't putting it all out there for our club. That's the sort of low expectations of our players, which allows that casual approach and level of commitment to creep back into our culture. Too much sympathy is detrimental to most young players... give an inch, and a mile sneaks out. Sympathy and praise in balance, and it should be honest. Petracca has had plenty of times to get himself fitter over the years by doing extra work away from the club on his own accord. Just as he has done this year with some others in the US. The pushing and critique has caused him the question his own past mental attitude... and he has taken it upon himself to do much more away from the club. He asked himself for the truth, and got his own answer, and the rest so far this preseason, seems to be showing itself. Time will tell how effective this will be, throughout the course of the 2020 season. All the critique Demonlander's have placed onto ANB over the seasons, has not hurt his efforts to do his best... he has become the leader of our running brigade over the past number of years, establishing his career through the past few years. Why can't Demonlander's see their inconsistencies based on playing favorites??? Can you guys not see why this club has failed to develop its higher draft choices... because everyone tells them how good they are, all the time. A false sense of security undermines their mental development and efforts. Balance Balance Balance. fear of failure is a driver to improve, to change, for the better.
  18. By his talents yes, a talented plodder, has been his past to date. Last year he showed some hunger. And I'm pleased to see, he's now saying, and showing on the track, that he's putting in extra effort. that he want it. Now lets see that convert to his plays through the midfield. There is a reason he hasn't been used in the middle much before last mid-season, after the season was shot for the Dees. He wasn't fit enough. He had not done enough work to earn the position. That is on his head. ------------------------------------------- and looking over your stats, stats can leave a false impression. Numbers are useless unless they create winning outcomes. DeGoey is much more damaging, regarding lifting his team, and creating wins. -------------------------------------------- Over to you tracca. the season is ahead of you.
  19. Last year he started to show some maturing, after much needling from outside, about his attitudes/approach, over the whole preseason. He finally started to work harder around Rnd 8ish. He was under the pump off field, and he should have been. Just a Roosy put it on him, when he played basketball breaking his ACL; before the start of his time with our team. He is responding to the chatter of his efforts and so he should have. He's been a talented plodder to this point in his career. And he much needed a push. So far so good. All be it without a ball being bounced by the men in white/green/blue.
  20. That's photo chopped, just ask HRHaaa'Andrew, prince A how its done.? Bennell's body on someone else's legs. ?
  21. I really hope your right, 'bingo' because he has wasted a couple of years in my book. Not the knee injury, but a wasted couple of boyish seasons where he's been allowing others to show the way forward, just treading AFL waters, so to speak. It's high time he stood up as a real leader, in this team.
