Its definitely not the best team we could pick, to win this game. It is the team we see as our future setup, even with a couple missing out.
-
Rebuild.??? your words 'DJ'. The team and list is in perpetual motion. A rebuild is only after a total gutting of the list and culture. All clubs lists are growing and slowing, constantly, so the median tide is looked for to measure ourselves to see where we sit, and what we need... where we rate. the information is really important to know our direction towards becoming the best, and winning our next Cup.
-
Yes, and in games for points, when still developing the team & list.
-
IMO, our footy dept' see Carlton as one of our main future opponents, and both sides will be young next year, or one after. think the footy dept want to get a measure of where we are, Re matching up against their list to form our future strategies. We will likely only get this match to gauge ourselves against Carlton's, this year. We are quite close in list talent, and development. So I think we have picked this young team to do this, and also to shakeup the expectations of some, a bit more senior, players.
-
But your not the only one, 'OD'.

FB: Jetta, May, Lever HB: Harmes, Smith, Salem CL: Langdon, Oliver, Tomlinson HF: Jones, Jackson, Melksham FF: Fritsch, Hunt, TMc Rk: Gawn, Petracca, Viney Int: Brayshaw, Pickett, Bennell, Rivers,
-
Wing or half-forward as you say, rotating to the bench. I think Hunt will play deep forward leading up, so Bennell can be used high forward. TMc deep, and unsure if Jackson deep, or half-forward. Tomlinson could also play CHF, or CHB. A versatile lineup.

What the Opposition are Saying: Rd 02 vs Carlton

What if West Coast didn't know about the seasons suspension, Pre game..? They didn't have to travel really, to the game; and certainly didn't have to catch another flight home. -

'ET', those coppers who sprayed the pepper-spray, and were not masked, they should also self isolate as well. It is a pity that the Liberal party isn't as concerned about workers getting Asbestosis, Silicosis, and Black-Lung disease. But they cannot make any political advantage, by mentioning these terminal illnesses. Then there is the decisions of sending our troops into Iraq, for weapons-of-mass destruction. What a convenient Lie. Political animals like SloMo, are born to deceive. Yet they are church goers.
-
No, they could have observed from a good distance, just in case. They did not need to be within 30Mtrs of anyone, now what if a copper gave it to another copper, because they weren't wearing masks.?
-
Who says this Police weren't Asymptomatic, when attending the protests. None of them, that I saw, were wearing face masks.! But the majority of the protestors were wearing face masks, and taking precautions. So, IF the protestors were being irresponsible... then the police were being downright dangerous.!
-
So let me understand this... i'm slow you know. SloMo, wants all state borders open, all schools open and people off to work; I presume Via public transport by most, breathing one another's air, within the public carriage. But we cannot protest heartfelt conscientious ideals together. I think, SloMo is purely a narcissistic opportunist salesman.

If its underpinned by political decisions and laws, Or theologies... then it is, Pol- itical.

What the Opposition are Saying: Rd 02 vs Carlton
MyFavouriteMartian replied to whatwhat say what's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would agree normally. But I won't based on one single 1st game of the season... immediately following being told Pre-game, that the season was off. -
Some non-colour people do understand. For Want of a much better word. Anyone who has been marginalised to a strong degree... will be able to understand well, what it is to be portrayed this way, mostly unintentionally, by the mass of white christian stereos. ... or even most christian stereo's. those of power in this world. Those who think they get to announce what is normal, to all-others outdside their reality. So yes, 'HL' is very much a victim of this, and I believe what he says, because it comes from his heart. Just as Adam Goodes was incredibly brave to take on the mass of white typical AFL footy supporters, who cannot stand anything criticising their belief structures.

My Creator. How blind can one be, cannot even see how you have changed along with the wish for money. since childhood. Just like addicted druggies, loyal to the drug. Love no less. As they say, love IS blind.

It seems White, is Right, wing, an a prayer. It's more prevalent these days than ever before. Right wing has gone way right, since Bobby Hawke took Labor right. Menzies would look more like Don Chipp, these days. # Hi to Trump, Boris J, Temer, Pinera, Bolsonaro, Hanson, Bernadi, Leyonhjelm, Abbott, Dutton, Abe, Orban, Macron, Berlusconi,

I like it. Like it when opposition talk themselves up, like that. We'll go in quiet, low key, and take them from there. -
IMO, We won't be expecting to do much this year, Re Grand final, with last years list... but would like to make finals. I'm sure. So I agree with you, 'EO'. I reckon the footy dept knows too well we need more class, hence Bennell's recruitment. We took a risk, and, so far so good. But we need the likes of Weide, and Petty as well, to start to mature. Looking at Mondays - "1 week to go" thread, by Demonland, Picture 40... Weide' finally looks like he has a Mans body, Not bulked yet, but is now shaped like a man. IMO, he still needs more weight, but now has the frame shape to build that onto. I think this is the season we can now expect to see more from him. If we hadn't been so low, Re our list, he would have had plenty of time to quietly develop at Casey. Lets get behind him this season. .

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
MyFavouriteMartian replied to Tinks's topic in Melbourne Demons
I hope all goes well for Harley. and he is working hard, as all can see. Often, when all goes well for talented type players who have strayed off line in their past, the real challenge comes after things start going right. When all and sundry start putting them up high pedestals. Often, when the pain of disappointment that has driven them to work diligently fades, EGO creeps in. Which can derail things. I want him to do really well. Lets hope he can manage the pressure, if this happens. -
Yep, agreed. I went to watch games when Scully and Trengove played, and I could not see why Scully was so highly rated. An athlete yes with work ethic, BUT what about being a footballer.??? I thought it was me who surely was wrong, compared to all the hype from professionals. I was right into Trenners, but I just wasn't into Scully. But I just accepted, that he scully was the real deal. The game was changing at the time, and having an engine was the fashion. still is now, but the game needs to swing back, via reduced interchange.

Your right it is Ralph, but lets not talk ourselves into the mindset of thinking the development rot started only in 2007. It had been with us since mid 90's, but has gotten worse thru the new century. Many kids didn't make it at all, and others who did make it, didn't reach the highs of completeness they should have reached. Again poor culture impacting developing ours, to be the best they could achieve. Yze could have been better fitter and harder. Bruce should have been more skilled and tougher. Green as well, should have developed a tougher side than he had. Robbo had a lot more to give, defensively, and holding his feet. We should have been better than we were, back then, and more consistently winning, and not being pushed around physically. This period is when we became soft/bruise free. We should not allow this to happen within the club, ever again.
-
I think you ares pot on Hff ...and this is the sort of poison that gets into their heads, allowing many kids to get big heads, and upset the learning/development. Loss of urgency; from being on edge; and intensity; which watts went without. It has gotten in the way of many, and we also do it amongst us, pumping up their tyres, before they've done anything of note over a period of consistency.

How did we go from 2000 to 2007, 'H2014'.?
