I didn’t know what to expect when I saw the title of this thread! I don’t get the groping or the finger up the [censored] thing amongst teammates. If a bloke tried that in my time he would have been decked. 2 consenting adults in the privacy of their homes well that’s their business. Having said that its obvious the boys were in on the joke so what does it matter other than just don’t get caught on camera. The blood suckers in the press are always looking for a beat-up so don’t give them the opportunity.

My faith has been shaken a little by the GWS sh*t show last night. GWS had something to play. Freo don’t and they’ll need to have a red hot crack if they’re to beat the doggies. Will they put their bodies on the line in an end of season game with nothing to play for? I’m not confident.

If Goodwin can’t deliver a performance with finals on the line then he never will deliver a performance when it matters. And this would be the second time it’s happened. A bad performance would just be further proof (as if further proof was needed) that Goodwin needs to go. Essendon are so poor I think a bad performance might still be good enough for a W. That’s why I want to see a proper, 4 quarter effort. Nothing less is good enough imv

The bombers have been awful recently and have nothing to play for. We on the other hand have a spot in the 8 in play. I expect a full throttle performance and the W. Anything else and the “Is Goodwin the right guy” thread will explode.

We can afford it. We have approx. $7m sitting in an investment account from the sale of the Leighoak club last year. This has given us a buffer to weather covid and meant we haven’t had to tap the AFL for a line of credit. If we dip into this fund to pay-out the coach then obviously that means less available to fund a new home base. Also, we don’t know yet whether the pay-out would come within the soft cap for next year. If it does then we would have to make cuts elsewhere to come within the cap.

Agree. Europe has eased restrictions and infections are ticking upwards. Until there’s an effective vaccine they’ll be no crowds.

Not sure about that. If we can move a highly paid under-performing player off the books we’d be fools not to do it. We should be moving him on any which way we can.
