GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs Essendon
My faith has been shaken a little by the GWS sh*t show last night. GWS had something to play. Freo donât and theyâll need to have a red hot crack if theyâre to beat the doggies. Will they put their bodies on the line in an end of season game with nothing to play for? Iâm not confident.

GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs Essendon
If Goodwin canât deliver a performance with finals on the line then he never will deliver a performance when it matters. And this would be the second time itâs happened. A bad performance would just be further proof (as if further proof was needed) that Goodwin needs to go. Essendon are so poor I think a bad performance might still be good enough for a W. Thatâs why I want to see a proper, 4 quarter effort. Nothing less is good enough imv

NON MFC: Round 18
I didn't think GWS would be this bad. Feeble performance.

Caroline Wilson on MFC rumblings
We can afford it. We have approx. $7m sitting in an investment account from the sale of the Leighoak club last year. This has given us a buffer to weather covid and meant we havenât had to tap the AFL for a line of credit. If we dip into this fund to pay-out the coach then obviously that means less available to fund a new home base. Also, we donât know yet whether the pay-out would come within the soft cap for next year. If it does then we would have to make cuts elsewhere to come within the cap.

2021 Fixture
Agree. Europe has eased restrictions and infections are ticking upwards. Until thereâs an effective vaccine theyâll be no crowds.

TMac on the Trade Table?
Not sure about that. If we can move a highly paid under-performing player off the books weâd be fools not to do it. We should be moving him on any which way we can.

TMac on the Trade Table?
Yep. He is our no. 1 list management problem.

Finals 2020
Probably not. depends on how we perform in the finals if we get there.

Finals 2020
Positives: May, Trac, recruitment, the draftees and Burgess Negatives: miss finals (probably), inconsistent effort, midfield mix, forward set-up, forward half pressure, goal kicking, Tmac Ultimately, I think weâre underachieving based on the talent at our disposal so for me, no finals means a wasted year

Jack Viney Restricted Free Agent
His move to half back was a failure but I think your assessment is a little harsh. He has played poorly recently, like plenty of others on the list, because he was played out of position. His strengths are hard tagging, gut running both ways, keeps his opponent accountable, can push forward and kick a goal. His drive and application in the final quarter against Freo almost pulled that game out of the fire. Yes, disposal could be tidier but you could say that about most of the team. Persist with but must be played in his best position.

THE RUN HOME 2020
That would be a lengendary run Nelo. The only way it could be any better is if we beat collingwood in the granny

THE RUN HOME 2020
Iâve had enough of the rollercoaster. Some boring certainty would suit me just fine.

THE RUN HOME 2020
I admit I was confident before the Sydney game, less so for Freo. I wasnât thinking in terms of percentage either. I think we are a team with everything to play for coming up against a demoralised, disinterested mob. If we have our wits about us we should win well. Will we turn up, switched on? Weâll find out on Saturday at 2.10pm

Jeremy Cameron
We should definitely consider but I doubt we can meet his wage demands.

THE RUN HOME 2020
True. My point was more that Essendon are so bad we are capable of giving them a hiding.

THE RUN HOME 2020
Essendon are a rabble and have checked out. If we can get our foot on their throat early we can beat them by 10 goals. We need a collingwood type performance from us. Accurate kicking critical.

Weids is a perfect example. One of the best sports docoâs Iâve seen is the âThe Brady 6â. It tells the story of how Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback ever to play the game, was overlooked by every team but was eventually taken with the very last pick in the 2000 NFL draft. There are interviews with scouts who discuss the supposed âflawsâ in his game. He didnât rate highly in any of the key metrics, he was too slow, arm not strong enough etc. etc. They admitted however there is nothing scouts can do to measure a manâs heart, his drive, or his determination, qualities that Brady has in spades as he has proven over the last 20 years. Well worth a look for those interested in gaining an insight into the recruitment process and its limitations.
