  1. The players love him. Tie him down long term the only person I would give a contract for life is Jason Taylor. That bloke has a gift
  2. Great report DIO. Thanks
  3. Looking forward to seeing the great man at the G for Rd 1 https://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/afl-legend-ron-barassi-is-back-at-the-gym-and-his-old-self-after-covid-fight/news-story/832051d21db8fe8862f3c4f1812b8e21 A snippet for those who can't get past the paywall β€œRon is on the improve,” Rosemary Long said. β€œHe went to the gym (on Thursday) and the plan was that he was going to take it easy. But Ron did his full routine, much to the surprise of his trainer.” Melbourne is now likely to ask Ron Barassi to play a role in its premiership flag unfurling in Round 1 next year.

Says a lot about how the club deals with players that TMac and Nibbler, both told to look at their options in the off season, performed so strongly in the B&F voting. We really are in great shape culture wise
  5. And they all made the AA team

I'm glad Glen Bartlett got some recognition. Nice touch Kate Roffey

I like the choice of song. Nice little dig at the doggies

    Very soothing
  9. 1. Oliver 2. Lever 3. Gawn 4. Trac 5. May
  10. i know you're speaking hypothetically but he can stay where he is. We have a youthful list that has just won a flag. No need for top-ups
  11. Only Gold Coast Suns player I'm interested in is Mac Andrew. Hopefully the culture up there doesn't stunt his development

Fingers crossed by the time the AFL season gets underway the pandemic will be all but over The data continues to come in from South Africa; Omicron is very mild. It’s highly transmissible, no question about that, but there’s nothing yet in the data to suggest anything other than it is not only mild, but the best possible outcome; a fast-spreading, super mild version of Covid. It looks like we got lucky It will have to be monitored as it spreads across the world, but based on South Africa’s experience there is no need to worry about this variant
  13. We don't need to take punts on questionable players anymore. SA clubs haven't been beating a path to his door either. Says it all.
  14. The intel will be valuable i'm sure but the biggest problem Scott has is his list are well past it. It's Jason Taylor they need to commence a rebuild.
  15. We'll have to wait and see how they go over the next few years but the potential is there. Maxy has 5 AA jackets already and there's no ceiling for Clarry and Trac. Viney won't play every game just need him right for finals. Support act more than able as well.

Last year proved you need to play home finals. If we have luck with injuries and Tayla Harris fires then no reason why we can't finish top 2. Really looking forward to the season starting and hopefully we'll have another flag to celebrate
  17. One of my favorites threads each week during the season was the opposition supporters thread before each game. always worth a read. From my recollection there was almost universal acclaim for Gawny. As well as being the best ruck he's the most popular player in the league by a long way.
  18. The abiding memory form this game for me was Kozzies goal. Phenomenal evasion in heavy traffic.
  19. There were 15 seconds left after Clarry scored. Plenty of time to kick a fourth goal. Trac won the final clearance but couldn't quite get clear to deliver inside 50

Not thinking small at all just stating a fact SWYL We have a small base because we have been success starved. Now that we are back on the winners podium we can grow the base particularly by attracting the kids. So good to see so many running around in Demons gear We can absolutely grow and rival the Pies, Bombers, Carlton and Essendon. We carry the name of the city we reside in, play an exciting brand, have very marketable stars like Gawny and Trac and age demographic wise have a young list so can dominate for a few years. And we have a very good womens team who are capable of a flag themselves. They will attract female members hopefully. With sustained success over the next few years we should aim for 100,000 members. No reason we can’t hit that mark
  21. We'll put this win to bed when we lift the cup at the G in September 2022

I think it would be a great site as well but we are all in on the MCG precinct

I like the fixture because i get to go to Alice, play against decent opposition (as opposed to the Suns) so should be a good game and we get well paid by the NT government. We've just won a finals series on the road, obliterating the opposition in the process so away fixtures hold no fear for me. And i'm certainly not afraid of Port Adelaide, probably the biggest down hill skiers in the comp.

It's difficult for us because we don't have a large supporter base. We only made a profit because of the large boost we got from merch sales as a result of the GF win I don't know what Essendon and Carlton did this year but i suggest we copy it. $8m and $20m is an unbelievable effort from them
