Delighted to hear of his positive impact around the club but not sure about the bolded. Our skills are not good.

The market for AFL CEO’s, or any other CEO for that matter, is small. Digging heels in and going against the grain isn’t a wise strategy from a future employment prospects point of view. Pert read the room and made the smart decision. He’ll be back in a job soon enough.

Given all that went on over the last 12-18 months a clean break was the best course of action. Whether he was at fault for some most or all of the problems doesn’t matter. He was head of the organisation so has to take ultimate responsibility. He leaves with a flag each for the men and women on his cv. He had a very good run. He won’t be short of offers.

Whether he was pushed or left of his own accord doesn't matter All i'm interested in is who our next CEO will be. I imagine Steven Smith will be heavily involved in the recruitment given he'll inherent him/her as president soon enough

Constant calls for Jefferson to play. Hmmm. Sounds like our very own picket! So you’re Chris from camberwell@picket fence.

The best thing he did for the club was his review of the footy dept post 2020 which brought Yze to the club. Brough in a good coaching ticket to work with Goody. Delivered a flag as a result. I'm very thankful for that. Culture went down the toilet under his watch. Was obvious to everyone. Had to go as a consequence. Thank you Gary for your efforts. You'll always be part of the 2021 flag.
  10. I’ll qualify by saying: · the MFC have yet to confirm what role he will have with us · Jonesy is a legend of the club. I have nothing but the utmost respect for his playing career and legacy with us. Our last midfield coach held the role with a 3-time premier in the tiges before joining us. has left to take on the head coach role with the eagles His immediate predecessor was on the coaching team of the 3 peat hawks before being part of our flag Jonesy may take on the midfield coaching role with us after coaching a school team this year and may or may not have his AFL coaching badges. I’m just questioning his qualification for the role. If he proves successful, I will happily eat my words. I'll be delighted. I have no issue with him rejoining the club in some capacity, I’m just not sure it should be as midfield coach.
  11. Looking after the midfield? really. what qualifications does he have for this role. He's been in the commentary box since retiring rather than coaching. not sure about this. He's a club legend so no issues getting him back involved just think midfield coaching role is too important for a novice.

  13. We know what we have to do. Beat the pies on Saturday afternoon and hope that Carlton do us a favour v the bombers. Pies may be bottom of the pile, but we don't want to take them lightly. remember 2017!

  15. She is a premiership player for the Dees. A little bit of respect please. She hasn't been good at all this year. If Beasley hadn't been injured, then i'm sure she would be playing instead of Lily. but she's been a great contributor over the journey for us.
  16. valiant effort. plenty of perspiration but no inspiration 2 great chances to kick goals but unfortunately, we squibbed them. and thats the game Hawks the better team overall and deserved the win mathematically possible to make finals but chances close to zero hopefully better luck next season. not all doom and gloom. some great experience for youngsters like Gall and Campbell. We're well set to bounce back next year. Go Dees
