  1. I'm starting to come around to the idea that an external review is required. Way too much noise around our club the last 12 months or so. Clear the air once and for all. I'm a big fan of stability but if the review determines the CEO is part of the problem, then make the change. I'm still very much undecided about Kate but the Caulfield option is the last chance saloon for her. If that falls over then she should fall on her sword. 10 years on the board is time enough to have firm plans in place around a new home base.
  2. I think i've spent all my outrage credits in the christian Petracca thread today. Not sure i can summon the energy to follow the tribunal.
  3. Do you think Trac wants to be traded?
  4. Every pies supporter i know say they hate Carlton. If Trac's family are as dyed in the wool pies as i'm led to believe then they wouldn't be happy with him going to Carlton at all.
  5. Even if true, it's not the real reason he's leaving in my opinion.
  6. Read through the Christian Petracca thread.
  7. I'm annoyed we don't have a home base. but it wasn't a problem for Trac when he signed his 7-year deal so I'm not buying it's a problem for him now.
  8. the only possible reason is the home base. I think he really wants to leave for brand purposes and perhaps because he doesn't have faith in the list to win another flag. the rest is just post hoc rationalisations
  9. i'm assuming a late withdrawal.
  10. They should include Maynard in the trade for good measure. JDG is too injury prone at this stage. And he fails the no DH policy
  11. A lot of variables for sure A colleague at work told me the emergency team said his injuries were equivalent to a car crash victim (i can;t remeber where my colleague said he heard that from). As bad as they've seen. I've no idea know how truthful that is but there is a question mark as to whether he will fully recover. I don't think making him play at Casey is practical. cutting our nose off to spite our face. IF Trac is that unhappy then we are forced to trade. Trac's brand would be very diminished as well so i can;t see him pushing this option either. If the club could somehow bring in a top 10 pick and maybe a late first rounder I reckon JT would turn those into good players for us. Not sure how that could eventuate but I sure know we don't want to be bottoming out when the Tassy team enters the comp. that would be a disaster.
  12. It may well be time for both of them to go. I'm not sure. But I will say you can't have a player demanding changes in the top office like Trac is. Or the coaching team for that matter. that's lunatics running the asylum and leads to disaster.
  13. 2 things can be true at the same time. Morris is a DH but also telling the truth in this instance.
  14. Hayden Young has had a tremendous season. He would look great in the red and blue
  15. In the original story broke by Morris. The article says that the problems Trac has with the club does not include the coach. Morris made a big point of this.
  16. Plausible deniability. Could work. The press conference where he clears the air will be box office. Not sure how he walks back some of this stuff but that’s what PR consultants are for. He has expressly stated Goody is not part of the problem. I’m sure he will be by his side for the public reconciliation. He will have to shield Trac from the public while he is being re-integrated back into the fold and help mend fences with his teammates. Goody is critical to all this We’re going to have 6 weeks of de-stabilisation ahead of which trac will be totally to blame. It is still a distinct possibility he burns his bridges to such an extent there is no way back. No matter what way you look at this it is a big mess, and the outcome is still very much up in the air.
  17. I’m deducing based on the information in the public realm. He wants to be traded. That’s not in any doubt at this stage. He wants to play for a big Victorian club. That’s not coming from the MFC. It’s disparaging to the club so makes no sense for the club to say this. We know Trac wants to build his brand so this would only come from him The club do not want to trade. It makes no sense for them to leak what’s been leaked. The problems with the top office, the way the Clarry situation was handled. It all reflects badly on the club. It only makes sense if it’s coming from Trac’s side.
  18. The club have said no trade (and a fair trade is highly unlikely anyways). It’s the only stance that makes sense. Trac’s leaking is torching us and the club. I don’t think it’s very smart to leave himself without a pathway back to the fold. He is being very badly advised. The long-term contract means the club holds the upper hand. I’m sure I would agree with him about a lot of the issues at the club but the way he’s gone about it demonstrates clearly a very selfish streak. He wants out and doesn’t care about damaging the club to achieve this. He has a lot of back pedalling to do. It’s going to be interesting to see how he goes about that. I’m not even sure its tenable given how he has trashed the club. Very interesting times.
  19. Just spent close to an hour getting up to speed on this thread this morning. Not good for my productivity.
  20. I can't get past the fact he says he wants to play for a big Victorian club. It's very disrespectful to the MFC. I don't know how he walks back that remark if a trade can't be done. Maybe I'm being overly sensitive but i can't see myself cheering his name if he lines up for us in round 1 next year.
  21. I'm surprised with posters taking Trac's side against the club. No player is bigger than our club. Great player and gave his all on the pitch. we can't fault his effort in that regard. He's been through a tough time with the injury but i have to say, it comes across like he's the first player to ever experience a bad injury. His body language hasn't been great this season. He's made stupid comments in the past about us not making enough noise. He's made a right mess of this. Why sign a 7 year contract if you want to opt out at the first sign of trouble for the club? Trac isn't invested in our club so best we do our best to facilitate a trade. Love bomb McKay i say and try to convince him to switch. It's going to be awkward if a trade can't be brokered. I don't want to accept someone back into the fold that said they don't want to be with us. What a clusterf this is. Thanks Trac.
  22. We've signed him to a long term deal so we've protected the clubs interest. If he leaves it will be on our terms not his.
  23. Port Dogs GWS have a good record against the Swans so i tip them for an upset Lions
