  1. Great win Dees against an inform team with more to loss and good to conserve your energy in the last dying minutes when the game was won. (I think?) As for Melk's run down, good to see him keep going even though my own grandmother could have kept up with that Port player
  2. I feel strangely calm about tonights loss. Good time of year to shuffle the deck chairs and see what works (or not)
  3. I would love to see all other clubs following the respectful acknowledgement of Indigenous name changes during the Indigenous round as The Narrm Demons have done. It's a great way for us all to learn some First Nation place name history. Well done Narrm!
  4. I thought the emphasis on the rules were protect the head at all cost. Feel for Chandler. He walks his dog in the same park as me and he is an upstanding fella and could see how shock he was over the incident. But just because Bowey is 'rubber man' does not justify Ryan's 1 week suspension. That action, which the AFL is suppose to be stamping out, would have knocked most players in the league.
  5. We all got the virus and my 21 year old sporty son was hit the hardest. It took him a month to get over it. Its very unpredictable. I hope Oliver has already had it!
  6. I for one am happy with Weeds pick over Tom Mc. He is taller, younger and finally getting close to the bulk and strength of Tommy. He is part of our new generation.
  7. It interested me that even though we were beaten in the last quarter by a lesser team, those that were interviewed after the game, Petracca, May and Lever all stayed positive and focused on the win. In the past the 'disappointing last quater that we can learn from' rhetoric would have come into play. The mindset of this team is all about winning, not percentages. Go Dees!
  8. Agreed! Smith was impressive in the finals till injured. Not many at his hight can run along side Charlie Cameron. I think he is worth round 1 selection.
  9. So it comes down to strategic training loads as is indicated by the doggies camp for their slump just before the finals?
  10. Young and Bold v tired & old
  11. Geelong has had a easy run in their backline and facing very mediocre pressure up forward. Dees by 30+ Friday night
  12. I was sad to see him go too. This dedication to the team and not the individual has see some of the current players develop in a winning team. Why would it be any different if Jack stayed at the club and was given the opportunities to developed a defensive, team orientation mindset along with them.
  13. Obvious Greene had a brain fade from his inability to justify his actions when questioned about it later in a post match interview. Angry little man!
  14. Smith stays. First player in weeks able to stay with Cameron and stop his goal fest
  15. And to top off that mark did anyone notice Hawkins look around for someone to blame!
  16. Jordon will be back. I have been so impressed with Sparrow's energy, marking and contested possession abilities. Some other shortcomings can be rectified. I expect we will be impressed with what's to come with this young man's game in the finals. So excited!
  17. Daisy Pearce has the temperament and the footy smarts to be the first female AFL coach. Come on Daisy, blaze the trail!
  18. The media have been notable quiet when it comes to reporting on the Dees achievements so far this year. Is this an advantage for us as we head into the finals?
  19. Begs the question " Why did this AFL club continue with this man as their Captain' I remember a game a few years ago when Sloane was concussed and in his confusion refused to get off the field. It was Eddie Betts who went straight to Slaone to support him off the field while Tex was unmoved in the forward line.At the time I was thinking Eddie showed more leadership than that boofhead. Could have made a difference to the Crows culture if changes were considered then.
  20. Harmes had similar stats the million dollar Man. Brayshaw is the after party band leader. Both say in!
  21. When we start to get the ascendancy I watched on in awe at the Dees desperation in the 2nd quarter. 5 minutes to go- tackle by Jordon then Spargo followed by Jackson then win the ball up and go forward. Also loved the smiles all round after a huddle before starting the third quarter. The Tigers are renowned for their fighting spirit but the players weren't concerned. Out there to enjoy Jones 300.
  22. Coniglio has a blinder tonight- Giants romp it in And for the Dees- Kysaiah starts clucking in the goals, Lever has no dropped marks inside defensive 50, Melksham pulls his finger out and we go all the way
  23. And like Clary he often has a smile on his face when you would see most footballers have a look of intense concentration. Obviously enjoying his footy
