  1. We can send thanks to the Saints, Carlton & Norf as those coaches had targets on there back coming into the year. As finals are around the corner this will allow us to slip off with very little scrutiny but Goodwin will have a massive target on his back come round 1. if we are 0-2 it will spell then enough of Simon "Talking points" Goodwin
  2. We sold our pokies venues so we'll need to keep selling games. The fin's don't look that great outside of the significant cash injection from the recent venue sales as general revenue will take a hit next year. Let's hope they invest the money wisely into long term ongoing revenue streams otherwise we'll have the hand back out to the AFL in a couple of seasons.
  3. After yesterday its clear that Pruess is a very good VFL Ruckman but isn't up to AFL level. Poor below the knees, poor skill execution, too slow and a lack of game awareness to have any impact on the contest regardless of his mobility. Petty might be the answer a the second ruck once Macca is back playing up forward next year.
  4. Is it desperate coaching/selection to bring in Jetta and Lever at this point of the year? Surely getting them cherry ripe for next year would be the main aim rather than forcing them to play off very limited preparation. We should be shutting guys down early to get surgery and have them right for 2020...seems like the coaching box/selection committee are protecting themselves rather than looking at the greater good.
  5. We'll finish in the bottom 3 again this year so do we get a pick as well for being [censored]?
  6. For all his shortcomings he was pretty good last year so don't think we can write of a young bloke who played a big role for us last year. In reality we've got a number of blokes who are having down years so to target Spargo seems a bit harsh when questions about list management/injuries/coaching are probably more important than questioning a 19 year old kid who should continue to develop after playing 18 games in his debut season!
  7. How is the administration of the club gong? Answer: You gave a coach an extension before we'd played a game and now we can't sack him cause its to expensive.......
  8. We need speed on the outside and the steak knifes part of the GC/May deal can't get on the park so Hill's speed would be very bloody welcome!
  9. You'd think we'd be looking to review everyone and perhaps so assistants who've been in winning situations as coaches rather than fresh ex players who've never been in winning coaches boxes. If you look at the current AC's we don't really have any "winners" in that group from a coaching prospective they all seem to point to playing success on the clubs website as to a reason many of them got the gig rather than being in great coaching/winning environments.
  10. surely we sit Max for the rest of the season. Same with anyone else who'll need surgery or has a niggle. No point making the same mistakes again and having guys getting surgery at xmas and being behind the 8 ball again. Couldn't care less if we played only kids to fill the team lets not risk any of our top 10 players for a nothing season.
  11. we loose to Carlton and the assistant coaches simply shouldn't bother coming in on Monday. I'd say we'd sack Goodwin to but can't see the club doing that this season. I assume we'll start booking blokes in my surgery so we might start as underdogs in this game if thats the case.
  12. Except is Viney quick enough for this role? The best pressure forward tend to be super quick of the mark and great at close space quickly to trouble rebounding defenders. Viney and the chase down tackle don't really go in the same sentence.
  13. The Bombers will pay him as his form as picked up. If we get back to 2019 form next year we'll have a few guys that will need to get paid so don't think it would make sense from a salary cap/future prospective.
  14. I don't think we should trade Viney as i think we'd get limited value back for a heart and soul player so its simply not worth it however in terms of the key mid field group if we had to make a move he'd be first on the block. It seems our outside mid's and run/carry with polish are more of an issue than the core mid's being discussed.
  15. Hell No do we trade Brayshaw! (Check Meters Gained and then think about Viney/Oliver and how they play!) It pains me to say this but if any midfielder was put up from trade from the group of inside mid's it would be Viney. If you line up the Key Mid's Harmes/Brayshaw/Oliver/Viney its clear Viney should be the one we are asking the questions of re his physical limitations and further development to take us to the next level. Modern mid fielders are built like Oliver/Brayshaw and they are both younger with more development to come as the question is Viney going to get better? Based on physical upside you'd say no so how does he continue to improve our group?
