They all looked pretty good by the end of the game. I know it's only preseason and they weren't going 100%, but made me remember Burgess' comments in "To Hell And Back" about standing next to your opponent and knowing you'd put in more work than them and would outlast them (or words to that effect).

If it had been Korea instead of China we could have even had another spelling...

Would be interesting. I have the same feeling. We had Goodwin make the captain's call on Viney then the failure to communicate it to Jones, then the cancelled camp the next offseason, then the disaster that was the preseason of the 2019 season... Seems we trip over our feet at about this time every year lately.

Which is a more than fair observation, but pretty harsh for people to be having a crack at his ruck work today.
-
People aren't seriously potting Weid for having to ruck all game? Gee wiz.
-
Copped a knee to the shin I think. Hopefully not a bone injury.
-
It's on FoxFooty and Kayo if you have either too.
-
Not sure if mentioned here yet, but Viney is also out of contract end of this year I'm pretty sure.

Leon can speak for himself of course, but just from the perspective of someone impartial; I've found him to be a very very credible poster who puts up spot on information.
-
Spargo? Hasn't he been in either rehab or a moon boot for most of the preseason? I know both games mean nothing, but wouldn't it be better to run him on Friday instead?

Hawthorn have different strengths and weaknesses to us. As already mentioned, we were the worst team in the league for back half turnovers and opposition scores from back half turnovers, so i think trying to create a more safe and reliable backline is a good move. Different teams have different needs, that's why there's a trade period.

I'm not as worried as you about the team who averaged the most back half turnovers and opposition scores from back half turnovers losing it's worst ball user. nEV

'Tis the season to sell some hope apparently... “I think Melbourne are going to bounce back and be the Cinderella story,” Mooney told foxsports.com.au on Tuesday afternoon. “They remind me so much of what happened in Geelong in ’06 and ’07. We were supposed to have this great year in ’06 and we absolutely fell apart and everyone nearly got sacked after a review. “We came back and got super fit, super strong and it all clicked for us. Talking to a lot of Melbourne people who were at Geelong at the time said it reminds them of Geelong in ’06. I think that’s going to happen again.” Geelong great Cameron Mooney believes Melbourne can win the 2020 premiership after nightmare 2019

Here's a free version of that article posted by one of those websites that basically rips off existing articles and posts them as their own... Richmond station among five possible locations for Melbourne’s new club headquarters

Was posted in an MFC facebook group that Brayshaw was doing some match sim or contact work and seemed to aggravate it. Edit - marking work, not sure on contact work. From Facebook: "Gus appeared to reinjure his left elbow in a marking duel after which he took no further part in contact work opting to hone his skills at kicking for goal, fingers crossed he is ok."

I'm sure they do, but they also should know by now the mood of the supporter base and provide more clarity around that because sadly we've heard this all before (Red & Blueprint springs to mind) and none of it has come to fruition.
-
Spot on. First thing I thought also, this isn't a "plan"; this is a set of goals. Perhaps they have more details about the actual strategies behind the scenes, but releasing something so low on detail just increases the skepticism among the supporter base.

Nah not at all mate, didn't take it as a crack and I agree it's been swept under the rug a little bit seemingly. Not sure if that's due to everything else going on PR wise, if they thought we'd just remember or they just didn't really want to push it. TBF not a lot of people usually go though.

With unprecedented access into the club’s football program, Melbourne Media have captured an action-packed pre-season documentary series, launching on Sunday 9 February. Melbourne to release pre-season documentary series
-
You may be right, but the impression I got was that the club had produced it. All the media releases etc say 'The Melbourne Football Club has released' or similar.
-
Loved Maxy giving a rev up before the first time trial, outstanding leadership to recognize that's the point it starts, not round 1. And the production quality went up a notch this week too I felt. The media team have done a sensational job with this.

Male players may give up cash to fund AFLW pay rises
Lord Nev replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's an 'elite' competition because it's literally the 'elite' level of it's sport being women's football. And yes, I'm satisfied that women now get to have footy as an option for a career, I'm sorry that you feel the need to try and shoot that down. I've never met you, nor I, so I'm not sure what you're assuming with your attempt at a personal comment at the end there. -

It's the elite level of women's footy. Your argument is baseless. No one is asking you to watch it, nor are they asking for your opinion on it. -

Lord Nev replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
But Marsh said it was unhelpful to pit both groups of players against other, saying any thought of AFL players subsidising female footballers was nothing more than speculation. “To talk about the men subsidising the women has not even been part of the conversation,” he said.
