What a ridiculous comment. Please list the number of staff who were up there, their roles, their position descriptions, KPIs and salary. (You may want to note that all the content produced by MFC from the camp was credited under one name). Honestly, having a sook about training camp videos not being funny enough is one thing, but claiming people you don't know, let alone what their jobs are, are being "payed under false pretenses" is next level stuff.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Lord Nev replied to Tinks's topic in Melbourne Demons
Mahoney: “In terms of Harley, he’s done everything we’ve asked him to do, on and off the field." -
Admittedly I'm a big fan already given his uncle is my all time favourite footballer, but I wouldn't be too worried about this. Egan on the MFC website today: “We’re pulling them in and out of training a bit just with their loads – obviously they’re only a couple of months into their programs,” he said. Trio of draftees impressing on the Sunshine Coast

You are quite likely right, but in my opinion those issues you mention can potentially still fall under the banner of mental health.
-
Right, so you think they're all making it up do you? https://www.beyondblue.org.au/media/statistics What a rubbish comment.

Max is apparently getting around at the open training meeting the fans, albeit with a sizeable knee brace. Aside from being our best player, he's such an amazing asset for us from a fans/media perspective as well. MFC just posted this.

I thought it was pretty clear tbh. To me, it was a great insight into the repeat effort/workrate of a premiership forward who is known for those attributes. A gun forward who is known for being great at leading patterns and workrate is a pretty good example to our young forwards. You disagree and think we have no problems in that area because 2 years ago we scored well. We see it differently I guess. Cheers. Back to the training.

Have a good Sunday mate.
-
Cherry picking from one of the best forwards in the league, especially when it comes to repeat efforts and leading, who plays in a team that won a flag a little over a year ago? Yeah I think you might be the one only looking at the 20 seconds. You can try and defend it however you wish, but the facts are we finished 17th last year, had one of the most impotent forward halves in the league and were known for lack of effort.
-
I do. I also go to our games. But you're right, we have the most dysfunctional forward half in the league because everything is going just swell.
-
Rarely seen repeat efforts, especially at that level, from our forwards.
-
Not worth a new thread so just thought I'd chuck it here. But I'd love for this clip to get shown to our boys while on the camp. This is the work rate required to turn our fortunes around this year.

Bad news is we may get roasted if opposition fans read this article... ?
-
Might be. But I don't think that either the 'contact' or The Age have had access to the scans, so I'm waiting until then.
-
A more positive-leaning take... "Melbourne sent All-Australian ruckman Max Gawn for scans after he left the track on the Sunshine Coast with a sore left knee on Friday. The Demons said the scans were precautionary as it was not obvious what was causing the soreness and they remain optimistic at this stage." Scans for Demons ruckman Max Gawn

Tom Browne 'reporting' there's no structural damage and likely a few weeks. He does get a bit wrong though and he did clarify by saying the Dees haven't said anything yet.

"People accused of defamation may be able to defend themselves in court by proving that what they said is true or showing that they were expressing an honest opinion." https://www.legalaid.vic.gov.au/find-legal-answers/defamation

Would be only be defamation if it wasn't true though.

What results, specifically?

Could this be an omen... Dees back AO competitor
Lord Nev replied to hardtack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Guess we'll wait and see how it effects our membership numbers and sponsorship then hey. I'm predicting it won't even 1%. But you guys keep pushing your barrow if you wish. Bring on the footy. -

No, nowhere have I said that. I'm saying that in this specific case, MFC giving a jumper to a tennis player who 2 years ago made a few dumb tweets is not a big deal. And to say he's now "immensely disliked by a large section of society" is a completely baseless statement given the poster wasn't even aware of the issues himself until he googled him whilst trying to find something to complain about. -

So what you're saying is you didn't know this about his past, went and googled this 2 year old 'news' story, posted it on the internet again and now apparently he's "immensely disliked by a large section of society"? Weirdly, none of our sponsors have immediately pulled the plug. -

"Troubled"? Give it a rest. Dragging up 'news' from 2 years ago to have another crack at the media department only illustrates how desperate you are to be negative. Next you'll be saying TMac's form drop was due to him going to the Jordan Peterson talk (and somehow the MFC media departments fault also). Talk about reaching. -
You can speak for your own comments, but many others were in different contexts.

Nowhere did I say anything about non-competitive players. Nowhere did I say the coach likes "purely outside players". In fact, I said the complete opposite and that was the reason the balance was being addressed now. Please try to be accurate when rephrasing what I've said. (Unless of course you were doing it on purpose to suit your argument). Langdon and Tomlinson have been penciled in for the wings. Pretty clearly that's an outside role. Pickett (finisher), Jackson (finisher) and Rivers (skill) were added. Elliot was chased. Martin was chased. Calls were made re: Papley. Weightman was very much in the mix. We didn't take Green. I find it staggering anyone can look at that big picture and not think we were chasing more skill, finishing and outside players.
