  1. Yeah, definitely a need. I assume it's something we're looking at in the trade/draft period, but haven't heard anything specific. Jordon is another intriguing one for mine. Pretty sure he's still out of contract and I know a fair few here thought he could play off HB. I would guess the backline would be fairly settled on May, Lever, Tomlinson, Hibberd, Salem & Rivers, with Jetta, Lockhart, Smith, Hore and maybe Jordon and even Chandler (if they're still around) as options for that last role, pending form and matchups. I like the idea of moving Rivers or Salem further up the ground if we can find a good replacement in the backline, not sold on Baker as a wing option just yet.
  2. No mate, Harmes didn't go in and tell him he had to play in the midfield. He's not that type of personality. Goodwin was the one who instigated the role change for next year, Harmes didn't push for it. Sorry if I didn't make that clear enough. As far as I heard, Harmes didn't complain once about being asked to play backline.
  3. Ok, so getting back to footy... This is second hand info, passed onto me by someone who has spoken to family of players. Harmes has been chased by North this trade period. Roosy has been making a few calls to him trying to entice him over with his preferred role of being a run with/inside mid. Don't know how much he considered it, wasn't told, but Harmes had been pretty disappointed with Goodwin during the year for not communicating. He had a meeting with Goodwin yesterday and apparently put it all on the table a bit. Made it clear he wasn't happy with where the culture was at and that there was different rules for different players. Goody didn't agree with all of it but at least heard him out and it was apparently a pretty productive meeting. What's come out of that is Goody has told him he won't be traded and that next year he will go back to a run with role where he drifts forward. The feeling from the family member was that it was an improvement from what they've seen with Goody's listening and they put it down to mostly Richo's influence and possibly a bit of Yze's. Not exactly earth shattering news, but thought I'd pass on to try and get us back on track a bit.
  4. Mainly because I'm more interested in talking the footy stuff than the players personal lives.
  5. Yeah the bruise was visible in one of the games...
  6. Fair enough 'Landers. I just reckon we need to load up on our forward line more, but get what you're all saying.
  7. Kicked 3 goals in the prelim this year. Besides, if he's playing for Melbourne what does it matter if he doesn't always play well in finals...
  8. You could play both IMO. And I think we maybe get too obsessed with defensive aspects in the forward line sometimes (myself included). I wouldn't call Lynch or Martin defensive, but the Tiges make it work because they have great pressure everywhere. We need to score. That's currently our biggest weakness for mine. Rohan would be ahead of Hannan (who's gone anyway), Melksham, ANB, Hunt & Spargo atm.
  9. Won't go into too much detail, but there was a rumour about Rohan and a very popular Cats teammate getting into a heated argument, possibly even coming to blows, following some inappropriate behaviour by Rohan while in the hub. Some info has come out today that gives a bit of cred to those rumours. I'm just wondering out loud if that could mean he might be gettable.
  10. Wonder if Gary Rohan is seen as gettable now given the rumours seem to be true... Worth having a crack IMO.
  11. We still have to use picks in the draft though.
  12. Offered you a truce once before, you continued with your trolling. Not interested in sending you a PM thanks. Have a good one.
  13. So, that's a no then? Makes sense.
  14. I've said here multiple times where my information comes from, how about you tell us about your source? Brodie Smith signed yet btw?
  15. He's signed for 3 years as senior coach of Norwood in the SANFL. I don't think he'd want to come back to us anyway.
  16. Yep. Don't know the job or club though at this stage.
  17. Mate, if you read through that thread you'll see the majority of Demonland talking about how bad TMac's disposal is. The main himself has opined about it: "Sometimes as a defender I was so worried about making mistakes. The pressure that comes with being a full back or centre-half back can be overwhelming at times, and I tend to get overly frustrated with myself and it costs me." Stress-free Dee relishing his shot up forward Absolutely he will fight for a spot, as will everyone else. If he earns a shot he should 100% be picked. But IMO, given the reasons I've outlined about the backline philosophy, it will be as a forward.
  18. TBF it could be that the AFLPA are making it difficult for them. They're in negotiations with them.
  19. I know mate. I wasn't arguing your point, I was bringing up something else.
  20. Yep, that's why I didn't say his disposal issues were the only reason he was moved forward. The point about the back half turnovers is we've actively changed the backline, moved and removed players, to make it more reliable from a ball use perspective. Think we all agree TMac's disposal out of the backline was poor yeah? Hence, I doubt we would move him back there as it goes against what they've worked so hard on changing over the last few years. Our backline is stronger because of who we've moved out and who we've replaced them with. We're going backwards if we start inserting those poor users back in there again. IMO he'll play forward or he won't play. In saying that, I still think he won't be with us next year anyway. If you want to go back to see how his disposal in the backline was perceived have a read here:
  21. A big part of the reason we moved him forward was his horrendous disposal. The last few years there's been a big focus on making our backline more 'safe'. In 2018 and 2019 our points conceded from back half turnovers was a massive issue. I very much doubt that we would move TMac to the backline again given that.
  22. Hypothetical: Clubs may have more of an idea of what's happening than what has been reported in the media. Mahoney, for all his faults, is quite often ahead of the curve with trading/drafting changes. What if we're finding a way to get ourselves 2 higher picks because the AFL will reduce the 3 draftees minimum rule?
  23. Bizarre, isn't it?
  24. Maybe. But let's remember we've got reduced staff on reduced hours, probably working from home, and there's a fair bit going on at the moment for them to deal with. I'm not too worried about the coaching info on the website not being instantly updated.
  25. Just guessing, but I think maybe they just haven't updated that part yet.
