Tikanis Gala?

Have we heard why still no Oliver? Is it just fitness based or is it something else? The lack of news is really frustrating

This is such a fantastic achievement. I have a colleague that helps out with the Big Freeze organisation and I was quite sad to learn that this awful disease gets very little attention on the global scale.

You are such a party pooper.

Fun fact. Difference between Port and Melbourne is 10 goals , which is more than the accumulated margin of the games we have lost this year - 49 pts. But noooooo…. Umpires don’t impact games.

TRAINING: Saturday 17th June 2023
Gawndy the Great replied to kev martin's topic in Melbourne Demons
Any details emerging from the training session today? Presumably it was a closed session? Ive seen a few pictures on Facebook but nothing more. -
And their other mids (Daicos bro's, Pendles) were clearly not 100%. If we meet in Sept and both lists are at full health and are in form, it will be hard to split them. Ultimately we have a harder game style to play against and relies on turnover to score (good for finals) and fewer components that must go right. Pies style is high risk, but also relies on high skill. Something that tends to fall apart when nervy and subject to high pressure.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Gawndy the Great replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Pick 40 was the ultimate ruling matching academy players, but it was a gradual transition from no rule, to Pick 20+ to then Pick 40+. I thought it was a league wide ruling - which is shocking if it is not. -

If GWS finish higher than Freo, we have full control as we can use it to snare Curtain and hence get WCE to deal with us exclusively. GWS are in a position to push for finals, and Freo have a much tougher draw so it is likely the outcome. -

I thought academy players were only from Pick 20? Didnt we miss out Mac Andrew as a result of this? -
It’s Norf. Do it against a top 8 side and I’ll take note. I’m also of the view that Kosi is in some horrible form. If he has another stinker he has to be dropped.

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
Gawndy the Great replied to adonski's topic in Melbourne Demons
Need some cover for May. If we can’t get Reid, we go all in for Curtain and force Eagles hand and take another midfielder and Brown. Win- Win in my book. -

They have two picks for the entire draft. that and pick eighty something and they have Danger and possibly Hawkins retiring and maybe even Isaac Smith. They need to bring in new blood. -
Dylan Grimes deadset David Neitz voice over.

It’s premature - I know. So if teams finished as-is. We’d have pick 6, 18, 24, 36 and 90. I’d take 18 and 24 to Cats (as Suns unlikely to trade ) for Pick 9. Take 6,9 to WC for Reid. If they take it, good otherwise we use it on Curtain and Duursma. -
Tigers get robbed by the umps so many times.

I was thinking this has to be better for us from a loading perspective. -

I disagree.. Pies can get a 12 day break - in fact they do almost every year. We are the ones that screwed. -

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition

That’s what we can only hope for. they don’t have an easy draw: Collingwood, Doggies and Cats all away. You can almost put down 3 losses there. Lions, Bombers and Power at home - would be hard to win more than one of those. Blues, Swans, Eagles and Hawks round out the rest , which they’ll probably 3-4. So can’t see them winning more than 4-5 games for the rest of the season for 10-11 wins, which is about 9-12 ladder wise. -

Freo finishing 4th or 5th last we be a dream but It ain’t happening. They are better than this and will still finish somewhere in 9-12. Still gives us a top 10. -
Cameron is the key matchup. He is one of the best link up players and can do a lot of damage assisting and on the scoreboard. Hibbo probably has the strength and agility to match, but Scott can easily exploit his fitness by trying to drag him higher up the ground. The other player is Myers. I think Rivers is the right match up for him. We have the ascendancy in the midfield and need to use the ball better going inside 50. When Port ramped up the pressure (which they played full 4 quarters against us), Cats were useless. That is the blueprint.

That’s nasty - knew there was something not right there.

Port will hit a wall in the next month. It happens to all modern teams that will reload for finals. Just depends on the opponents and travel schedule they get.

Where is Dangerfield? Unsighted.
