GAMEDAY : Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
We are seeing a different game tonight. Faster ball movement creates scoring opportunities but we are being exposed a lot on the turnover.

GAMEDAY : Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
The main reason is that our form is not anywhere it needs to be. Our pressure has been down all season not just the last 7 weeks. Pressure the Dogs and we can beat them. if not they’ll get their handball game going and carve is up. Our forward 50 connection hasn’t been existent for the the whole year and now we are missing our two KPF and have to rely on Weid that has failed to meet any expectation in the AFL repeatedly over the last number of years. So the slow ball movement will allow Dogs to flood and Weid will have no chance. Our game plan has also been found out and the coaches have no real plan B that we have seen. They will exploit our zoning probably by tagging one of May or Lever this will lead to the predictable rebound. Both of our big men have been pretty poor since the bye and we are fumbly in the back half. English is getting better and I think will outrun Maxy. LJ is not impacting the game either. I can keep going but you get the point. yes there are positives and I do see that but am highlighting the reasons why I don’t think we can get up tonight.

GAMEDAY : Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
We are going to get a bit of reality check tonight I think. Not sure where everyone is getting their confidence from but we have played 1 great game in 7 weeks against the Lions and patches of ok against the Crows and Power. Pressure and clearance has been our vulnerability, and these are the two things you need to beat the Doggies. I hope the boys watched the Tigers last night, because that was an epic display of effort and pressure.

Everyone knows it. If he was to speak to independent experts, 9/10 would advise him to stay another 2 years at least.

I hope we have a offer from WC on the table. I’m surprised that there is no discussion of it in the media tbh.

Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
The other lens to this i think we cannot look past is the pressure it then puts on MFC to let LJ go in order to keep Brayshaw. Others have mentioned a conflict of interest here given it’s the same player manager and perhaps a ploy by Freo and the management company to give them some advantage in negotiations. If that was ever the case, and I wouldn’t past player managers to sink this low, I’d be absolutely filthy.

TEAMS: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
I heard that JVR has been playing on May in training and May is blown away at the kids talent and brutality.

Indeed they are, but if they are gone they are not going to say so otherwise we lose all leverage. Gus won’t go to Freo as they don’t have the cap space for both. We can then upgrade his salary by another 100K over 4 years and keep him at the Dees. My guess is that the latest meeting is all just about negotiating tactics. Gus is not going to a bottom feeder club when he can play for premierships for the rest of his career. He just wants to be remunerated fairly. The interesting thing is if Brayshaw is still ‘in play’ it means that the LJ deal with Freo hasn’t been locked in.

Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
Why is he even talking to other clubs. Is he really that interested in mediocrity.

Tommo stiff. Would have loved to swing around another tall forward under the roof. We need to exploit their defense especially when we bomb it in long.

Freo fans will be brutal if he doesn't live up to the hype.

The Run Home
It occurred to me last night. Wouldn't it be great if we played the Cats Alice Springs next year.

I think we need to give Weid an opportunity to develop elsewhere. You cant just flip a switch and expect a player who has been playing all his life as a forward to suddenly become impactful in another position. Give him a pre-season in defense or as ruck relief and see how he goes. As for LJ, If what he is being offered is true, that is mammoth deal and shows how much they value him. They cannot come to us with anything less than two first rounders (one being top 5) plus a solid starting mid 20's player (doubt it will be any of their key stars though).

CHANGES: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
Just watched the Goody presser. Not a great sign for BBB. I'm fearing his career maybe over sooner rather than later. It does add some context to his performances of late and his lack of impact, which has been duly noted. Appears as though he doesn't train much in shorter turnaround games, which will severely impact his movement and fitness. So its no surprise that coming off a 9 day break, he looks much much better and has a greater impact for longer. The other thing I notice is that BBB tends to have his biggest impact early on in the game, but tends to fade out, which again probably is another indication of the severity of his injury.

They need to start to restock their midfield and i suspect they'll try to trade rather than develop. Sidebottom and Pendlebury are very near the ends and De Goey appears on the way out, which leaves some gaping holes. Far too much will fall on Adams and Crisp who are not elite midfielders - Daicos looks great, but he is just a kid playing off HB atm. So to me, they are probably Melbourne circa 2018 - lot of similarities: new coach, exceeding expectations etc and will need to free cap space to chase their key deficiencies in order to be a genuine premiership threat.

And did Liam and Brad care to elaborate on how the pick gets done? This is just headline chasing to get my clicks and listens. It happens every year. Now the signs are not great that LJ hasnt signed yet . The same goes for Brayshaw too but its premature to announce anything, but then again the radio prey on speculation. If they go by facts, it would make for very boring listening.

Contrast with the talk around Cerra last year, you couldnt say Cerra to Melbourne without hearing the media saying 'not sure how it gets done because of picks required and cap space'. But crickets on LJ... annoying AF

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
It’s a BS antiquated rule. Norf should get first access but he’ll goto an already stacked midfield.
