  1. We’re already sending Harry P forward. He will with the new recruits plus the trade of McAdam and Billing’s seems to me to offer much more class and options plus our forwards being fit would also be a great filip. Have no doubts our forward line will be a major reason we improve our team.
  2. To say it’s the 11th or 12 th reason and to say didn’t matter as much as any other is completely underestimating that decision. You May say that but you a have either got half a dozen other minute reasons any which could be from 6 th onwards. The non use of a Sub is a crucial and dumb decision in most games ie soccer nrl and obviously AFL. Then you double up and say because the Senior Coach made the decision it’s almost irrelevant. He was the crucial decision maker and failed miserably in leadership and daring/positive action. Refer back to the 2023 last quarter and Harry Petty was switched forward with about 10 mins to go. If that move had been Made at 3/4 time by Simon I have a feeling we wouldn’t have lost that game. Similar situations and in sport some have the knack and others can’t find the fortitude to press buttons at the right time. Schache was let down by the Coach and if as is alleged ( you are ignoring the reason conveniently). This has been a common thread regarding this game and yes it sounds very hard to believe but I feel there is a very strong element of truth regrettably about this “ non decision” to use the Sub. I can think of about 5 other reasons we lost that game but to say this Sub decision was not a crucial one is ignoring the games natural flow and sports amazing ability to thrill us any time we close our eyes or use our given faculties.
  3. TN you have found 5 other reasons for us losing both Finals and tried to underwhelming ignore the Schache sub fiasco in the middle of your post. Of course there are more reasons than ONE but to say the Subs non use was not a reason we lost is not even sensible. You have made some very good posts recently but this one is a part miss due to the lack of admission of the Coaches decision on the Sub.
  4. Kossie is suspended for 0 and 1 Rounds in 2024 coming up.
  5. Well why use that reason to negate the other poster’s opinion. In fact Goody is alleged to have deliberately not used Schache in the Semi because he was outvoted by the other MC members in naming him as Sub. . Not great work by our Coach and Footy Department together.
  6. Is that why The AFL have to pour millions into the GC/GWS coffers? Crowds do matter when you talking about 10,000 each week at home and away venues involving these 2 Clubs. Their bottom lines would be reasonable and AFL not have to prop them up after a decade.
  7. Seriously that was a giant error and we will never know the result. I am surprised you are defending Goody when clearly one of the biggest errors in his coaching in the Fibsls was made in not using Schache from halfway into the third quarter. It’s like playing Green or Marsh and not bowling them.
  8. Salem has trained well enough and while I like Disco in you can’t deny Tommo hasn’t been one of our top 5/10 trainers. Reckon both them in 23 and Salo as well with Woe and Chandler out of 23. They don’t deserve not to play but it’s very competitive. Really Sparrow has had a poor but managed pre season and he won’t be left out as a mid vs other half forwards. We are in a transitional phase and our youth is getting ready for the big stage along with our recruits. Hard work by all. Clarry and Petty to add the class at later dates.

14 out of 18/19 games is a Bazball winning total. We got out of jail in Fourth Test and cheated another Lords result 2 series in row. I was at both.

The 2023 figures are helpful. What they tell us is that Maxie only had a so so year in 2023. He was not in the top 5 of most of the figures. He didn’t make the AA team and it caused some dysfunction with Brodie playing at the same time. In 2024 he is set up with backing from JVR Schache and Fullarton when he is fit. Oh and any other trainee ruck that surprises in form.
  11. Yes 2019 draft were but Bowser debut was Round 20 vs GC and played the last 7 games inc. 3 Finals in 2021 in that magical run we will never forget.
  12. That’s why he stood out in the film highlights weeks in advance as to his style of game and our needs. Our Guru JT didn’t muck around with Curtin ( who I still would have loved) but Caleb (The Duke) Windsor looks just fine from the recent reports. So pleased with the overall reports from yesterday by all the track representatives on his form. He is coming along fine. Which wing Warne Stand or MCC Members ? And Lingers he will make a comeback to his best. He is too good and proud not to.

And his goals his hand passes his kicks his shepherds his captaincy his care for the Club and all players Dont think we’ll miss his 5 hit outs!!!!
  14. That may only be 2025 actually I apologise.
  15. He is contracted till end of 2026 I believe. Would be Adelaide/ Petty all over again so I think we will look at JVR late in the year and extend again hopefully if all going well.
  16. That’s why I am considering staying at the Airport as after game the light rail will go the other way.
  17. Via SCG not DCH sorry.
  18. Yes it goes from Circular Quay to Mascot Airport via DCH.

Yes certainly over 40 in 2024 Jez. I stopped short of nominating who will be the best in my post as I really don’t know. Both have a very high ceiling on their ability and if both can solve their dodgy goal kicking 125/150 seems a realistic total between them with perhaps 100 plus in 2024.

If you didn’t see the talent of JUH when he kicked 5 match winners against us at Marvel in 2022 then you are not a good judge of footballers. Not yet 22 he had 70 plus shots at goal in 2024 (35.35) and is a very hard match up due to his pace and skill at ground level. Then he takes flight and is a very good grab with an X factor marking ability. Another 2 pre seasons and his size will have him totally ready for AFL stardom and supremacy in 2026. Just the same as JVR would have only really impressed about half a dozen opponents teams this last season having some quieter days as well.
  21. Sorry Stinga totally confused list with JJ and Grundy still listed but Harmes not and Hibbard retired but listed still. To be frank all we are focused on are the 44 that have received jumper no’s for 2024. Of course we wish some old favourites well at their new clubs and hope Hibbo enjoys his new club at the lower level.
  22. The us vs them ( every one else) suits every now and again. Creates an edge on occasions. Think you are overreacting a little about us being a whipping boy but again can play a role in the trenches. I think we should be as aggressive as we believe we need to be and be active in our actions and not be scaredy cats at all. Get on the front foot I say.
  23. There is no indication that only Petty is competitive. You say about if both getting up and running and no indication who is. Suggest you re read your post. You may be clear but no one else is. You are wrong in any case as JVR for his youth and skill competes as hard as any player in the team in marking duels and in the throw ins in the ruck. Only part of your post I agree with is about Schache who needs to raise his standards. Thank you greatly though for your training reports for us out of the state. We are very lucky you keep us up to date prior to the real games.
  24. Who is the ONE competitive forward because if it’s JVR then you are labelling Petty uncompetitive. And if it’s Petty then JVR is in your opinion not competitive. Very harsh judgement in fact incorrect based on the situation as of now. We also have Fritta who is competitive and I believe McAdam will be a boost to our goal kicking, and give Kossie more support to grow his game. Others who are IMO set for a better season are Trac as well as ANB Spargo Chandler. Rotation of these riches should address some problems and add extra dimensions to enable goals a strength rather than a weakness or hindrance.
