  1. Hore will not be replacing any one Daniel Turner our new 194 cm rookie will do that maybe even next year.
  2. Loyal and reliable five year player with Dees with fine record. Enjoy your retirement Meg.
  3. Is the fittest he has been even before 2018 I reckon. Had good year last year also and his disposal has even a great bonus. Absolutely wants to keep playing as long as he can and would be highly motivated about the chance of success looking a big chance in the future.
  4. Well done Long S Hope your family are feeling the hope and expectation in a measured way. There is no certainty in life let alone footy but our boys have been nothing but committed and absolutely single minded about their input and methods this season. it's looking very promising and above all sustainable with I believe our potential to score regularly over the 100 pts each round. So much happening in improvement and growth. Maybe we could be a sleeping giant again at Finals like 2018. L we Rd get a Top2 spot and don't leave the G !!
  5. Yes I have since 2018
  6. All of our midfielders have changed their style somewhat tweaking or majorly like Clarry. But the most important result is that ALL are impacting the result and coordinating as a major engine room with plenty of outside breakers who move the ball quicker and cleaner than we have ever before. Reality is when you look at our personnel is it any great surprise that once we have got the mechanics right our on ballers are all able to damage the opposition in their own way. An absolute nightmare for other teams. I also believe we punish and execute in a speedier fashion than the more handball dominated Bulldogs fashion.
  7. The AFL are going to try as much as possible to get Vic back to crowds after this lockdown. Remember they were 85% !! They Will carefully return with the Finals in mind at the G . What's with the "WE" OD you haven't even gone outside your door to go to a game according to your posts!!
  8. Bet you weren't saying that at half time on Friday night!!!
  9. This is an example of the role that the role that AFL can make the community a much better place for all. Congrstuelstions MFC this is another example of why we love our Club getting involved in the community. And the AFL just took Darwin off us and no replacement.! Just as an aside The Pies ( under Eddie) have supported and run a homeless meal centre for a long time in the community. So hats off to Eddie etc Also for their community contribution..
  10. Good suggestion and share whatever happens !!
  11. Ant what is your beef about Daisy's real career being mentioned? It was not disparaging. compare that to say an AFL when Bailey Fritsch joined us he was a tradie Jay Lockhart similar but no one would accuse like you have. Fact is Daisy is NOT a journalist She is a commentator ( You are demeaning the careers of Journslists with Daisy) Yes Mick McGuane writes fir the HuN but really is he a journalist technically YES but not trained. You are calling all the ex players who commentate journalists and that is incorrect Detmie a journalist ! Give us a break!! Discussions don't qualify as journalism in any capacity It's a writing skill that good journalists like Caro are trained for. For years.sometimes. Sorry but there is a tangible difference and you should be made aware of it.
  12. I agree BB thought agsin last night watching the replay for the second time Abdolutely Hipwood only tried to prevent Jake from contesting. That's a free in any situation!!
  13. Agree the cost must have had a lot to do with the reluctance of 17 CLUBS not even responding or a phone call. Just look at the Taylor Harris scenario bit the same but her alleged non team attitude this season would also be kicking in. BTW I have complete faith that she wil not disrupt our AFLW culture and the pay issue is more controlled in the W comp and if Daisy says OK then it's OK. !!
  14. It's still in our hands on game day The best laid plans are always going to be ( OR should be) flexible.
  15. That no argument for playing players for 60% and not picking your best team. Players are used on a day to day basis depending upon Circs so this should have no bearing unless a player is deliberately being managed.
  16. I agree sort of with Locky We need a smaller defender and Locky is the go at this stage not Bowery I reckon. Bowey is a player no doubt but just not yet .
  17. Yes 31July Cassiew.
  18. I have not suggested in my post recently that Dam go back PERMANENTLY. I said give him some game time at Casey at CHB to enable Sam to get his game together ( mainly for his marking to go from two grabs to ONE grab and get confidence in his football. Seriously it's a no brainer Sam May be better than Petty snd Tommo as a KP Defender and Harry could still be a better forward if this happened. Wn i win as they say but to dismiss Sam as not good enough is foolish and careless. Tmac would not be the forward he is without Roos/Goodwin giving him the opportunity to go forward. He was a great mark but his disposal horrid a lot of the time. Look at him now!!! Wr have to be creative and Sam somehow must overcome his FEAR of not succeeding ie his low self esteem on game day out on the field. It's mostly that fear that restricts his belief in himself and his role and acceptance that he is AFL quality. Let him talk to any one about his confidence ( after giving him permission) if he believes it's gong to be good for himself. Choco may be the man also but It's really SAM that holds the key with the Clubs help.
  19. Not necessarily as GMHBA Stadium is much narrower in shape than the G and you can be locked in by the Cats defence whereas at the G there is a lot more room to use your pace and skill.
  20. Maybe If BBB isn't up to it ( I think he will come through then Petty ( if msybe Wrid could try defence) Mitch Brown or Kye Declase be given a chance or even Majak. Surely one of those could average 2 goals a game and take a first defender. With regards to the Lions defence name or rate the players as individuals in ability. I think they come up short on star power except Andrews say compared to us. They may be slow also. I always look at a team and clearly we now realise you need at least half of A and B + graders. Then role players and a couple of X factor types. That said you then have to jell as in a team and don't we know how elusive that's been over the years. Lions aggression and scoring potential not unlike the Bulldogs is their greatest weapon. On the last two blockbusters they both still have a bit of a gap matching our defensive system and on ball brigade which both give our much improved forward line enough chances to win.
  21. Shirt padding = short passing
  22. No Gawny is playing a much more rounded game in as team orientsted plus handball shirt padding and defending and attacking. At the moment he is down a little on marks but more up on the 1% ers and his field kicking has improved. He is a more rounded player and as such useful ( valuable) to the team. Brayshaw is having his most consistent year since 2018 in a reprised defensive wing role so valuable to the team. And our selfless ethos and team unity are the glue sticking all of it together.
  23. In all my posts pre season I emphasised that tangible improvement would not come in the team sadly if we continued to play Nev Jonesy Melky and that Hibbo might be a watch this space although his 2020 was good. I still think on occasions we need a small defender Lockhart or maybe in the future Bowey. But that may be nit picking but Locky might have had a chance vs the speed of Bailey last night. So this post is so correct with the under 26 gamers.Youth brings speed daring no boundaries and new skills to a side and that's what we get from our youth. it's almost as if the Full Forward spot is jinxing us Weid underperforming and IMO clearly lacks confidence. He now should play in the Casey side at CHB to get his marking and body positioning more positive to or hopefully a big attempt to bridge the gap to AFL standard. Good and all that Petty has been in defence I still think he could go forward if needed and make a fist if it if Weid or BBb do not. In saying this yhecCoaches I am sure are more concerned about the Ff position having acrole player first who ms blossom into a 40/50 goal kicker a season. Prrhsps dome patience is needed in view of our results but a high marking player st at FF helps Tommy Jacko and Fritta in marking duels and the first to fourth defender minding them. BBB needs a solid 3 games footy to get right into it agsin.
  24. And don't forget Hibbo and Melk were traded for second rounders. Tmac pick 53 Harmesy a late pick ( Rookie?) plus Hunty a middle rounder I think. Extraordinary success rate plus our first rounders and Gawny a 40/50's pick if I think correctly!! Combo of Taylor and List manager prior whose name escapes me. But rhecreal story is the at long last player development program that had improved since Roosy came. Added also is Burgos fitness programs which have proven elite on most occasions.
  25. Probably needs to star in the Ginals and grab a flag to be in that conversation. But boy he is evolving in his running snd seems determined to not let Jacko be the only Rick who follows up his tap work. Also his hand balling is getting so much better and short passing. My Hod we could almost have 1,2 and 3 in the Brownlow snd Bluey with Max Trac and Clarry Also some time in the future there will be the question about how great are our great first ruck trio in Club history as well as the AFL/VFL.
