  1. Yeah, I like to keep things simple George. If only for my own sake. We have no idea where we will finish next year or who is available in the draft so why worry about it. As Donald Rumsfeld might say it's a known unknown.
  2. If nothing else he can now tell his grandkids how close he was to a premiership in 2021.
  3. I'm not the best at working out the pros and cons of pick swaps but we're effectively receiving pick 17 this year and giving up pick 18 next year yeah?
  4. Got out on the bike yesterday morning. All those people that painted their picket fences red, white & blue before the GF must be regretting that decision now they're looking at another three coats to get rid of it so soon afterwards. Lucky for them the block sizes in Footscray and Seddon are quite small.
  5. We should probably merge this thread with the other one that someone started. Then delete it. Nothing personal.
  6. I think I'd much prefer to walk into my favourite cafes with one of those mean fellas than a keep cup Dr G.
  7. What's the actual protocol with a match worn guernsey anyway Chook? Do they get framed with mud & sweat (or grippo) on them or are they washed first and is one more valuable or sought after than the other?
  8. Geez. I must have missed that when I scrolled the MFC subset. It went as far back as round 7 then started with our finals games again. I'll give it a go again later tonight DJ. Thanks!
  9. If like this year we're still flogging three game memberships deep into the season then we could top 80k I think.
  10. The same 'dictator' to be democratically elected in a landslide.
  11. Tom McDonald's signed match worn guernsey would be covered in grippo surely?
  12. Hi BAMF. Interesting that you’d pass up the chance to watch play us on your own doorstep but I get what you’re saying. I guess I just like the variety it adds to the season and I’d rather play away in an authentic environment than a soulless high rise wasteland in the tropics.
  13. We certainly won't be playing a home game in Darwin next season if only because it's now a Gold Coast zone. If we do play a second game in the NT then my guess would be an away game against GC in the top end and we split the NT funding for the game down the middle. I might be one of the few people that enjoys going down to Hobart to watch a game and making a long weekend out of it. I just wish there was more open on a Sunday in the town as it can get a bit boring. A second visit to MONA was one too many. I agree with some of the other posters in that double up games against the bigger clubs are likely to make up for any financial shortfall in being the away side in both of our marquee games next year. Assuming the likes of Collingwood, Richmond & Essendon haven't dropped off the cliff come the back end of the season (mixed feelings there as I'd probably rather see them down the bottom). The key might be getting 50k Dees supporters to attend our games regardless of who we're playing. More marquee time slots will definitely help with that.
  14. Where are you getting the replays from DJ? I had a look on Kayo and the AFL website the other week, primarily looking for the Anzac Eve game but couldn't find anything before the North game in Hobart online.
  15. Haha. Hi Cards. I was referring to his vegan diet.
  16. Ben is one of my favourites at the club. When there was talk about him joining us I thought he'd fit right in and that has shown to be the case thankfully. He might also be our first carbon neutral signing.
  17. Haha. Yeah I know. Irons too almost.
  18. Good to hear Mickey. I have The Enforcer (Maysie), Clarry and Wingers Club ones. I'll throw them in with the next 'whites only' wash I do before wearing them for the first time. Won't go near them with a hot iron though.
  19. I'd like to see a daily merchandise $$$ tally on the MFC website, much like the membership tally updates.
  20. Hi Mickey. I've just received the three t-shirts I ordered from them and the players and writing on the front have that plastic iron on look and feel and aren't screen printed on. I'll be interested to see how many washes on the cold water delicate cycle they survive before starting to degrade.
  21. Soulless, feckless, gormless, absolutely. Selfless? Give me a break!
  22. Mark Maclure is the biggest of the media dinosaurs I think and his screen time on 360 has been whittled down to just a five minute moanfest each week. At a time when just a year out of the game can see a coach playing catch up what does it say about someone that's been out of it for the best part of forty years. As for his his own club. All fur coat and no knickers, as the saying goes.
  23. My three t-shirts from the Deebrief website arrived today so I'll be strutting them on the west side of town as soon as the weather comes good again.
  24. Rab D Nesbitt replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Safe to say he's Welsh on his father's side then.
  25. I've ordered 3 x t-shirts from the Deebrief website (Clarry, Wingers Club & The Enforcer) as well as the Weg poster. I'd really like one of the New Era bucket hats some of the players train in too but they are sold out everywhere. The club should release a special premiership video with unseen footage. 57 years worth! I still can't believe this is all real.
