Sammy has all the tools to be a gun full forward that kicks a lot of goals. The problem is his mentality. It’s a combination of lack of confidence mixed with being scared of contact. There was multiple times tonight he could’ve at least impacted the contest but chose to either stand by the side or hide behind the contest. I vividly remember one incident where the ball was bombed to half forward, he was running backwards & although he didn’t have much of a chance of marking it, there was a chance he could’ve at least put some pressure on the dogs defender but he saw another player in the corner of his eye heading towards him & he immediately gave up so he couldn’t get hurt. I hope the coaches show him some of this footage & he changes his ways otherwise he’s going to be a consistent fringe player for this side.

If he didn’t have such a rubbish haircut & that unnecessarily ridiculous kicking action then I’d completely forget who he was.

Dwayne Russell is unbearable to listen to in close games. North have been horrible for some time & he calls Zurhaar the “King of Marvel” because he’s had his first significant game.

Even when Gawn returns I hope they keep Bedford stays in the side.

The fitness levels of the players this year is pathetic. Burgess would be disgusted by this. Put in all the work last year & as soon as he leaves they take their foot off the gas because of the now inflated ego they posses after winning a premiership. Hopefully this humbles them all & they wake up.

The premiership got to the players head. The hunger & desire to do whatever it takes is gone & our fitness is levels below it was last year.

Our efforts at contested footy, our decision making & our delivery inside 50 have all been appalling for a while now. Better to have these issues now then at the end of the season though.

This has been a trend for about a month now. We’ve become extremely weak at contested footy & our decision making has been very poor. Absolute abysmal effort by our fans the last couple of weeks. Defending premiers against two genuine top 8 contenders & we can’t even hit the 40k mark lol

Fingers crossed 🤞 no setbacks & we’ll have our best 22 back next week against the Pies. May to replace Tommo. Salem to start on the halfback flank with Harmes going to the bench. Kozzy back up forward & Trac into the middle. Neal-Bullen to start on the forward flank with Jackson going back to the bench. I think instead of having the same emergency player each week you rotate them so players stay match fit but my hope is that Bedford’s our medical sub every week in the finals.
