Here's a leftfield idea. Trade fringe players into necessary picks to acquire Cerra, not core 22 players.
-
I think people might be underselling what we could offer trade wise. We have a couple of 2nd rounders, if we trade Weid, that could become 3x second rounders. We'd be able to use some of those picks to package up to a side that needs points like the dogs, in exchange for their 1st rounder. As well as our 2022 1st round pick. It'd be convoluted but we'd figure something out without trading a player of significance out imo.

No chance he enters the 22 imo. However given he has chosen to stay, I would suspect the club have told him the med sub is on the cards.

Nysiah Wanganeen-Milera The Kozzie & Nozzie show. It was meant to be.

Fair. But not even Port expected Aliir to be as good as he has been this year.
-
He's only getting a game since Hunt was injured in fairness
-
I get we've got 2 week til gametime but seems Hunt is more unlikely than likely judging by this...
-
Smiths versatility to my eyes appears that he’s bad at several things opposed to just one or two
-
Doubt Bowey gets dropped - believe he was matched up on Zac Bailey for most of the game who didn't do a ton Hunt for Smith ideally the only change
-
A direct flight to Epstein island and then swim the rest of the way was my initial plan but yours has merit
-
6. Oliver 5. ANB 4. Fritsch 3. Langdon 2. Viney 1. Sparrow
-
T Mac has to stay in, did little but we can't have BBB marking up the ground kicking to Fritsch or Jackson alone Would keep Bowey in. He actually improved after his errors - could have easily dropped his head but improved from it. Like his upside better than Smith's that's for sure
-
Can't have Smith in the side if Hunt is ready to go

You don't 'upgrade' clear best 22 players, it's poor list management. i.e You don't trade out Gus (and picks) for Cerra, even if Cerra may be a 10 or 20% upgrade on a wing. Exchanging one decent best 22 player for one good one presents a negligible difference unless you're talking about a generational type of talent you're getting back in return who will be in your top few players. You trade out picks which are unknown quantities which you never truly 'owned' in the first place ideally - which we won't have. FWIW, I'd rather find the next untapped Langdon, or Amon for a 2nd rounder than pay an absurd amount for a player whose reputation largely lies on being taken at pick 5 a few years ago.

Why tf would we do it? I'd back in JT to pick up a Cerra calibre mid even with a late 1st.
-
Nah don't buy it. Brisbane & Geelong have been consistent chokers the last couple years in finals. None of our competitors have a Richmond-esque upside.
-
Why? Mills is probably cooked for the year, Kennedy has half a leg too.
-
Comparing Elliott with Bedford & Chandler? Right...
-
Should have another crack at Jamie Elliott, 29 years of age. Wouldn't cost a lot in terms of picks due to his age & durability concerns. Obviously risk involved, but imagine him & Kozzie running amuck?
-
Fair points. Just feel there's greater upside with what Maynard would allow us to do.
-
I've said it 50 times in other threads but I'll say it again. But wouldn't bringing in Maynard to then release a Rivers or Salem into the midfield mix strengthen two positions with one move? Cheaper than bringing in a Cerra type too.
