GAMEDAY - Preliminary Final vs Eagles
How can you not be nervous this is unchartered territory for most Dees supporters. However removing the blinkers the Dees can win this for three main reason. 1. Gawn v Lycett what more need to be said; 2. Midfield depth Viney; Brayshaw; Harmes; Petracca; Jones; et al versus Yeo Redden Sheed Shuey 3. Team Depth on bench Petracca; Tyson; Spargo; Smith v Ryan, Dugan, Venables; Vardy. As Pies showed last night the Dees are finals hardened if they believe they have the talent to win. Weagles played a bottom four side a month ago in the Lions and have played one game since. I think this give the Dees a massive intensity advantage. We need to hit them hard early and take the noise factor out. Everyone talk about the benefit of the crowd but it can have the reverse impact if your losing as tension and stress build. I am confident that we have the team to win this and their forward advantage is not as big as our midfield advantage. In finals campaign past we have exhausted ourselves getting there or have been an inferior team. This is not the case this time and why I am hugely confident that if we give our best we WILL win.

Meanwhile . . . down at Glenferrie Road . . . .
When Packer sold channel 9 to Bondy he called it the deal of the century. The Frawley deal was Melbourne Packer moment.

GAMEDAY - Semi Final
Just for the record in 1961 Hawthorn had zero flags and the Dees coming to the end of a golden era eleven. Fast forward 67 years they have now won 13 one more than the Dees. No team in over half a century has heaped more misery on Melbourne than bloody Hawthorn. Winning today will partially erase a lifetime of bad memories. With Stratton and Omeara out we will never have a better chance to repay the Hawks with a footy lesson. History show that team that finish 5th_8th have a poor record winning two finals in a row. There is a tendency to overrate the victors from the bottom of the eight and underrate the losers who over a season have been better. The Dogs showed it not impossible though but this will be a tough game. Dees by 7 points.

Picking through the bones of 12 years of Misery
Putting aside the numerous disasters and the non football side of the business (PJ what an Appointment) is how good our recruiting has been since the Toump disaster. Josh Mahoney has run a great football department and our recruiting has beenalmost100% spot on. The contrast to our earlier disasters is truly amazing. I think we can beat the cats but irrespective in the longer term we are going in two different directions.

Chris Judd thinks we celebrated too hard.
Whilst he stuffed up re his celebration comment let hope his judgement that the Dees will make the granny and are a threat to the Tigers is more accurate

Not the first time Kent has done his shoulder. Big blow as Kent has X factor. If there was a player called luck he wouldn't play for the Dees.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 22
For what it worth I was at the Port v Eagles game. Whilst Eagles won my view is Port were very poor. The out for Eagles are massive whilst our are severe but coverable if players have belief and utilize Gawn domination around the ground. The key to me is can the Dees improve their forward entry play. If they bomb the ball like last week Barass and McGovern will have a field day and we will lose. If they play smart and to their capability they can definitely win. Eagles are very beatable without Nic Nat, Gaff and Kennedy.

I normally read these post but had to sign up to totally endorse these comment. One player does not lose you games but this guy is indicative about everything that is wrong with this club.
