Rd 19 vs Gold Coast in Darwin
I emailed membership asking if we had a hand in it (eg cut of the NT Govt payment). Answer was this was a deal between GC$ and the AFL and twas out of the club's hands. Boooo!

Anyone else freaked out about the 2021 MCC grand final ticketing arrangements?
They'd be better off moving it to the Gabba or Optus.

Anyone else freaked out about the 2021 MCC grand final ticketing arrangements?
I'm terribly concerned the NSW lockdown (I am in NNSW) will extend for 8 weeks and I won't be able to get down for the GF. I floated with wife the idea of isolating in QLD for 2 weeks then heading down. Frosty response ensued.

COVID & AFL 2021
Sure, but at present there is a 12 week gap between shot 1 and 2. Notwithstanding the fact under 40s are ** RECOMMENDED ** to wait for Pfizer ++ ++ Pfizer availability/appointment availability problematic
-
COVID & AFL 2021
The first shot coverage currently ~25%, but that is not broken down by vaccine type and age group, so I'm guessing the coverage of <40s is low enough so to affect this 56%* *not an immunologist or viralogist.

COVID & AFL 2021
IIRC one shot of AZ and Pfizer does not confer meaningful protection against Delta.

Are the Demons pretenders?
Good. Hopefully we are like Cadel in 2011. Ultimately chopped Schleck to bits when it counted.

I read posts like this and often try and picture someone taking the time to compose this and it always puzzles me. I usually find your posts interesting, but this is infantile dross. I'm puzzled about why you feel compelled to maintain a record of people you need to call out in this fashion. More specifically, to your point: I'm not clear what you told me. I've been very nervous for some time about our consistency and hardness, even during the 11-0 run. I do not have blind faith - you can use what appears to be an excess of spare time to trawl through my posts to confirm this yourself. As to expecting personal apologies - don't hold your breath. Deary me.

CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
Someone here said it a while ago - good kicking is good footy. For the love of all that is good, can we please straighten up? None of these silly bananas.

Is sitting on top a bad thing?
Interesting. A bit like the responsibility of the maillot jaune in Le Tour. I mean, when you're as good as Pogacar, you can cover this, assuming a good team (I expected him to let O'Connor have it until the Ventoux stage but what do I know), but there's a lot of pressure. You have to cover everyone else, control everyone else. Everyone's agin' you. Having said that, I'd much prefer to be 1-2 wins better and sitting up there.

Are the Demons pretenders?
Squiggle now has us 3rd, playing Bulldogs in Qualifying Final, if losing that, playing the Swans at the G, if winning that, Lions at the Gabba in a PF. Top 2 is just so important. From Fox Footy - lots of media now saying "where is Ben Brown?!" MELBOURNE After a red-hot start to the season, cracks are starting to appear for the Demons, who were knocked off from first place on the ladder. Their loss to GWS on Saturday marked their second defeat from their last three games, while last week’s win over Essendon was far from convincing. There is a bit for coach Simon Goodwin to work on as the AFL world will now ponder if they peaked too early this season. Alas, they remain second on the ladder, although their spot in the top four is far from locked away. In the votes Christian Petracca tried his heart out, finishing with 30 disposals, 10 marks and six tackles. Christian Salem was also his usual busy self across halfback, tallying 31 disposals at 83 per cent efficiency plus 10 marks and one goal. The defensive pairing of Steven May and Jake Lever also continues to be a juggernaut and near impenetrable wall for opposition to get past. Bayley Fritsch finished with a team-high three goals and nearly single-handedly got Melbourne back in the game in the fourth quarter. Room for improvement The Demons’ inability to produce big scores or put teams away is now potentially becoming an issue. It marked Melbourne’s third-straight game where they haven’t scored over 70 points, while they haven’t reached the triple-figure mark since Round 7. It is surely time to inject Ben Brown into the side, who was recruited to give them more firepower up forward, or recall Sam Weideman and stick with. Either way, Fritsch was their only damaging forward against GWS as Tom McDonald was held goalless, showing they need more support in attack. Grade C
