  1. Why? Literally nothing that's been said in the media or by Tim Lamb has even remotely indicated this. I'm happy to bet you $100 to a charity of the winner's choice that Petracca is a GC player by the end of the trade period if you're keen.
  2. Sure - all I’m saying is that I’m pretty sure no club has ever given up two top 10 picks for a player before, no matter what the rest of the trade looks like.
  3. Yep and GWS gave picks back to Geelong too. Cameron went for 13, 15 & 20 with Geelong getting two second round picks back from GWS. So all in all not nearly as much as GC would be giving up for Petracca.
  4. He’s just turned 21 mate.
  5. Probably because he’s one of the best young players in the competition. Flanders has Adam Cerra type potential. Humphrey has Trac level potential. There’s a reason just about every Victorian club dropped everything to try to accumulate enough draft ammo to throw at the Suns to get him when it became clear he wanted out.
  6. Yep that’s all fair mate.
  7. I was hopeful of Humphrey too. But probably time to accept it’s likely not going to happen. But people saying 7&8 aren’t enough, and that we should keep Trac if that’s the offer, are wide of the mark too. No player in AFL history, as far as I can remember, has gone for two top 10 picks in a trade. Yes it’s a compromised and weak draft, but it’s still an excellent haul for a bloke who’s about to turn 30. No point jumping off the West Gate if that’s what it ends up being. Just have to back JT in to do his thing.
  8. Ah well. Was fun while it lasted 😞
  9. We generally train about 11am. Doing that once or twice a week isn’t that burdensome surely? The kids would all be at school!
  10. Nope he’s said the whole way through he thinks we should be able to get both options. Completely and utterly delusional.
  11. If we got pick 50, possibly
  12. Wasn't cut out to be a senior coach, but by all reports he's one of the absolute best ball movement coaches in the game. Would be a great get and this link fills me with much more optimism than the one to Aaron Hamill.
  13. I'll certainly never boo a premiership player. They gave me one of the greatest memories of my life. You'd hope most supporters would be the same.
  14. This is an absolutely reasonable post mate. Even those of us who believe the time is right for him to move on are gutted at the way it's ending. At his peak he was the best player I've ever seen in red and blue and I wish him well for the rest of his career.
  15. He’s only just turned 21. Petracca’s about to turn 30. You’re not getting both of them at the same age. Gold Coast aren’t getting the best year’s of Petracca’s career like we’d be getting with Humphrey. All posts like these do is exhibit your ignorance. Humphrey is worth more than Petracca. Wanting 7&8 PLUS Humphrey for Petracca is genuine pie in the sky stuff. You’re going to be very, very disappointed if this is your genuine expectation.
  16. Why on earth would Gold Coast break the bank to bring in both Curnow and JUH? Jed Walter can't even get a game at the moment behind Ben King and Ethan Read, they're not going to bring in another two KPF's to further block his progress.
  17. Who cares?!
  18. But you’re missing the point. It’s not the 6th best player you’re getting access to, so the pick’s not as valuable. It’s like having pick 11, not 6. If there were 0 academy and FS kids before your pick 6 you’re getting the 6th highest rated player in the year’s draft class. If there were 50 academy and FS kids before your pick 6 you’re getting the 56th highest rated player in the year’s draft class. In a compromised and shallow draft, pick 6 isn’t nearly as valuable as it’d be in a normal year. That’s all people are rightfully pointing out.
  19. Because you're not actually getting access to the 6th best player in the draft class. You're getting access to the 11th best. Of course it's relevant. It's hugely relevant.
  20. Slowly, to myself: If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. 🧘‍♂️
  21. I’m not here to argue semantics!
  22. Can confirm that our salary contribution for Clarry won’t be nearly as much as has been speculated. We’re not going to get much in the way of picks. But it’s not the “double whammy” that’s been reported.
  23. Mate Wade Derksen is free to a good home. He’s been on an AFL list for 4 years and hasn’t been good enough to crack the senior team. Whoever wants him can have him. Saying Oliver for Derksen is a fair trade is one of the more extraordinary things I’ve read on the internet, ever.
  24. Well you would. You’d want a players point of view about things that are important and aren’t, facilities wise.
