Assistant Coaches in 2026
We generally train about 11am. Doing that once or twice a week isn’t that burdensome surely? The kids would all be at school!

Nope he’s said the whole way through he thinks we should be able to get both options. Completely and utterly delusional.

Wasn't cut out to be a senior coach, but by all reports he's one of the absolute best ball movement coaches in the game. Would be a great get and this link fills me with much more optimism than the one to Aaron Hamill.

I'll certainly never boo a premiership player. They gave me one of the greatest memories of my life. You'd hope most supporters would be the same.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
This is an absolutely reasonable post mate. Even those of us who believe the time is right for him to move on are gutted at the way it's ending. At his peak he was the best player I've ever seen in red and blue and I wish him well for the rest of his career.

He’s only just turned 21. Petracca’s about to turn 30. You’re not getting both of them at the same age. Gold Coast aren’t getting the best year’s of Petracca’s career like we’d be getting with Humphrey. All posts like these do is exhibit your ignorance. Humphrey is worth more than Petracca. Wanting 7&8 PLUS Humphrey for Petracca is genuine pie in the sky stuff. You’re going to be very, very disappointed if this is your genuine expectation.

Why on earth would Gold Coast break the bank to bring in both Curnow and JUH? Jed Walter can't even get a game at the moment behind Ben King and Ethan Read, they're not going to bring in another two KPF's to further block his progress.

Who cares?!- Farewell Christian Petracca
But you’re missing the point. It’s not the 6th best player you’re getting access to, so the pick’s not as valuable. It’s like having pick 11, not 6. If there were 0 academy and FS kids before your pick 6 you’re getting the 6th highest rated player in the year’s draft class. If there were 50 academy and FS kids before your pick 6 you’re getting the 56th highest rated player in the year’s draft class. In a compromised and shallow draft, pick 6 isn’t nearly as valuable as it’d be in a normal year. That’s all people are rightfully pointing out.- Farewell Christian Petracca
Because you're not actually getting access to the 6th best player in the draft class. You're getting access to the 11th best. Of course it's relevant. It's hugely relevant.- Farewell Clayton Oliver
Slowly, to myself: If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. 🧘♂️- Farewell Clayton Oliver
I’m not here to argue semantics!- Farewell Clayton Oliver
Can confirm that our salary contribution for Clarry won’t be nearly as much as has been speculated. We’re not going to get much in the way of picks. But it’s not the “double whammy” that’s been reported.- Farewell Clayton Oliver
Mate Wade Derksen is free to a good home. He’s been on an AFL list for 4 years and hasn’t been good enough to crack the senior team. Whoever wants him can have him. Saying Oliver for Derksen is a fair trade is one of the more extraordinary things I’ve read on the internet, ever.- Training Ground?
Well you would. You’d want a players point of view about things that are important and aren’t, facilities wise.- Bailey Humphrey
This is the best chance we’ll have of landing a big fish for a while with King’s connection to the two Gold Coast boys. With players coming from pretty much any other club we can’t compete. Flanders is a salmon but Humphrey’s a marlin. If they both opt for elsewhere it’s going to be a bleak little few year period.- Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Stronger draft? Their offer was this year’s draft, which is a shocker. Will end up being around pick 25. They used their first rounder last year on Bailey Smith.- Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
People wanting Bailey Humphrey AND Flanders for Trac have rocks in their head. Humphrey would be worth more on the open market than Trac by himself. He’s 8 years younger and ready to explode. Trac’s been a wonderful player but his best days are behind him. Flanders is a nice player but Humphrey has top 5 player in the competition potential. If we can somehow prise him out of Gold Coast this all becomes a lot more palatable.- Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
No arguments from me!- Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
If we could somehow turn Trac and Clarry into Humphrey and Flanders this will all be worth it. Pipe dream I’m sure, sadly.- Imploding
- Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Petracca has currency. He wants to leave, his teammates are sick of him and if he leaves we’re duly compensated with draft picks and with his wage going off our books. Oliver has no currency. He’s still popular with teammates and wants to stay at the club. Despite not earning his huge wage the last couple of years, he’s now in a great place off-field and was showing signs towards the end of last season that he’s getting back to his best. And even at 85% capacity, he’s still our best midfielder. If he leaves we won’t be duly compensated, in fact we’ll have to pay for him to play elsewhere. That’s bonkers.- Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
The Petracca situation I completely understand, from his point of view and the club’s. The Oliver situation has me absolutely baffled. - Bailey Humphrey
