  1. Yep that’s a good point 👍 Along with the huge $ Jackson and Darcy are on…
  2. Would be heartbroken to lose him, as would my nearly 4 year old. And the worst part is Freo are so stacked and going to be good for so long that they’ve got nothing of value to give us, if the reports from @Dannyzare correct that all Freo’s Victorian boys are happy there are correct, which I’m sure they are as he usually has great mail. After academy and father/son picks a pair or even three pick 20’s doesn’t really move the needle or give us anything close to what he’s worth to us.
  3. Dee Boys replied to Farmer's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
He said on numerous occasions in interviews last year that the state of his ankle and foot means he no longer has the agility/mobility required to play forward anymore. Won’t happen.
  4. It’s always perplexed me how Steven May was able to play in the GF. Hammy has always seemed the one injury you can’t “play through”.
  5. No dramas mate. Let’s move on! 🤪
  6. Righto enough is enough. The information she provided was wrong. She said McVee didn’t need any assistance from trainers being taken off the field, all I did was point out this was actually not the case. Would it be preferable if we just exist in some kind of fairyland where nobody disagrees with anyone and nobody is allowed to point out that somebody might actually be mistaken? If binman had made this mistake I’d have pointed it out, if dazzle had made this mistake I’d have pointed it out, if picket had made this mistake I’d have pointed it out. In no way was it a personal attack on GW. I didn’t insult her, I actually said I appreciate and enjoy her training reports. Not once did I insult anyone, so I’ve got absolutely no idea how that has led to you saying “if you need help leaving this forum I reckon there’ll be many volunteering to help you”. And I do try to provide training reports whenever I can attend on Wednesdays. Not to the detailed level that GW does, which, I’ll say once again, I appreciate!
  7. But…the information was made up. Surely they’re just words to live by, for everyone? Anyway, let’s move on FFS.
  8. Was pretty forthright. But yes let’s move on!
  9. What are you talking about? Nobody hates insights, nobody has said they don’t appreciate the insights. Nobody has insulted anybody else! People are just a bit thrown when those “insights” provided are proven to be patently false, that’s all 🤷‍♂️
  10. Genuinely bizarre stuff 🤨
  11. What on earth?! Nobody has insulted you! I said earlier your training reports are really appreciated. But you railed against misinformation from reporters and were then proven to have been guilty of the exact same thing yourself. I’d have pointed this out to any poster that had done the same thing, nobody is out to get you @Ghostwriter!
  12. I was responding to your direct quote: He didn’t even have his arms around the doc and the physio Your insights from training are really appreciated, but please don’t flat out make stuff up otherwise people will start to doubt other things you say.
  13. [censored] off Brayshaw. God this kind of stuff is unseemly. It’s January and he’s contracted for 3 more seasons.
  14. Keep in mind he was an absolute mess off-field at the time and couldn’t get his body right, so you can see the club’s point of view. Easy in hindsight, but he’s exactly the player we lack at the moment.
  15. When did anyone argue otherwise? I just responded to a post asking which players have left while under contract.
  16. Grundy, Harmes and Weideman in the last couple of years just off the top of my head…
  17. Not a walk up start by the end of it! 😜
  18. Sure - but I’m not saying we should’ve thrown the farm at big name players. As @DeeZonepointed out I’m not sure we’ve had the salary cap room. But Ed Langdon’s needed a mate on the other wing for a while now while we mixed and matched with Brayshaw, Hunter, Billings, Woewodin, Windsor etc. While Hawthorn gave up pick 60 for D’ambrosio who was in the AA squad and Carlton gave up pick 50 for Blake Acres who’s been more than serviceable. Both of whom would’ve been cheap as chips salary wise too. Of course recruiting and list management is easy in hindsight but there’s no doubt ours hasn’t been good enough in the last few years. We’ve been saved by Jason Taylor largely nailing the picks he’s been left with.
  19. Quite right - he was a year later. Still, nobody since the end of 2019…
  20. The fact that it’s been 7 years now (Steven May) since we’ve recruited anyone from another club who’s been consistently fit and a walk up start for the senior side is an indictment on the list management team. Since then it’s been bargain basement NQR’s like Schache, Billings, Hunter, McAdam, Fullarton and Dunstan. Ben Brown gets a pass as he contributed to us winning a flag but could never get himself fit enough and played only 45 games in his 4 years with us. Of course the priority has been re-signing our best players, which largely we’ve been able to do well, but you still need to be bringing in solid best 22 players in areas you’re weak in to augment the list.
  21. Jon Ralph is a buffoon.
  22. Based on what? Both were drafted as skinny, raw KPF prospects but Weid was picked to play a few games in his first season, and in his third had 24 touches, 7 marks and kicked 3 goals in front of 95,000 in a final at the G. We’re all hoping desperately that Jeffo has a (much) better career than Weid but as he enters his third season, saying he’s looked more promising so far in his career than Weid did at the same time just isn’t right.
  23. I think this is fair. Nobody’s doubting the talent he has, but if he can’t get his body right he’s not much use to us. And this “oh it’s only a minor hammy” stuff isn’t actually insignificant. It’s these sort of incidents over and over and over again which means he can’t build up any base fitness levels or learn patterns and jell with his fellow forwards. No he’s not doing ACL’s or breaking legs but he’s not getting any sort of consistency in his training to give him the platform he needs to perform. And approaching 30 it’s not going to improve.
