  1. I cannot see him being godfather to Max’s son from WA, that’s for sure.
  2. While I expect to be howled down for this, I really don’t understand the “hate” for Danger on here. As a player, he has been, and possibly still is a champion, earning a Brownlow on the way. As a person, he obviously has the respect of all players to be elected as their Player Rep. And now, to top it off, he helps rescue a few struggling swimmers. Yep, he is known to take the occasional dive, and sometimes a bit careless with his shoulders and elbows. I think a little less of him for those quirks, but I can’t and don’t hate him. And to be honest, apart from these quirks, I enjoy seeing his great skills on display. If Danger had left the Crows and come to the Dees, instead of the Cats, it would be a very different attitude towards him, I’m sure.
  3. Daz, I have questions about your 3 statements above that I have plucked from your post. 1. who says he’d need to take a significant pay cut to fit in Oli and Jacko? Is this a fact? Or have you just assumed / made this up? 2. who says we are overpaying him, or would overpay him? Has the club or anyone else said or hinted at that? 3. who says we need to make tough decisions about him? We don’t know why contract talks were put off. It could be for a number of reasons, including that the club may have delayed them till Jacko’s contract is settled, for example. Your whole post is based on pure speculation - which may turn out to be right, or wrong. The thing is we do not know what is going on, and posts on this subject imo should reflect that, not speak as though basing their statements on fact. I have every confidence that the Club do what’s best for the team. And IMO Gus plays a very important part in the bonding and performance of this team. I don’t think he will be going anywhere.
  4. I'd much prefer Gus as a mid than Harmes. I hope he gets mid time this year to (again) show what he is capable of. My comment is prompted after watching some highlights of the Adelaide game this year where Gus went into the mid mix and brilliantly combined with Gawn. Now that his concussion issues are (hopefully) behind him, and he has had his best season since 2018, get Gus into the guts Goody!!!!
  5. I'm amazed (and somewhat angered) at the number of negative social media comments I've read about Daisy as a commentator (both male and female). I didn't think anyone would / could object to a highly intelligent and extremely footy-smart commentator on our screens - but there you go. I guess there are still a few Neanderthal boys-club types about. I also amazed that Channel 7 don't listen to their audience and replace B and BT once and for all.
  6. This pic now explains the round marks you see on Trac’s legs every time he plays. I used to think they were cupping bruises. Thanks for solving the mystery.
  7. OD, the last time you had such a negative attitude you were threatened with deportation back to Qld - where, back in '21, while holidaying, you amazed us by submitting extremely positive posts. Who'd have thought it? After these last comments about our facilities I think its time for another holiday mate.
  8. I know its only Wednesday, but I am so longing for Friday's dose of the Picket report! Luv the intros. And while we've had the "Lost in Space" and "Star Trek" themes to date, I have this mental image of Picket as being more our "Resident Alien" - he is definitely from another planet, but we luv him anyway!
  9. Who TF cares what CD say. We have the only elite team in the competition, as measured by the new shiny cup that sits proudly in our cupboard. And I’m sure each member of that team could care less about perceived individual ratings devised by some almost irrelevant click bait factory.
  10. Year of the Tiger? Nah - more like the Decade of the Demon!
  11. I read somewhere that Jacko is now sporting a few extra ink pics following the GF. One way to check if he is going or staying is to check the tats. If he has a demon tat, he’s staying. If not, there will be no contract extension. Simple.
  12. Fantastic effort D, and much appreciated by all of us. Must have taken you months to prepare this thesis! I have absolutely no criticism of your work but I do have a question about the Viney's. You rate Todd at 11 and Jack at 19. Can I ask why you then had Jack as "rover" and Todd on the bench?
  13. just the other day I watched the Kayo mini of this game. They showed the lightning break - which was mid way through the last quarter
  14. I was hoping that a premiership would have stopped this type of “sky falling” conjecture.
  15. Lockett didn’t even play - he was out injured.
  16. Why would we move the all Australian full back away from that position?
  17. I'm a bit like demonstone, WCW. I've bathed in the afterglow for long enough. But it was so sweet that I want more. I'm now in that early expectation / excitement phase for that next one. Bit like sex really.
  18. If the works won't be finished till May, then the turf won't be doing much growing / establishing over the winter period. It will therefore likely to be at least the end of Spring before it will be ready IMO.
  19. I’d like to think that by round 6 Weid’s form at Casey will be such that he forces his way into the CHF role in the ones at TMac’s expense - and will stay there for the rest of the year.
  20. Haha still waiting Tim. Perhaps I should have asked Red if speaking B$ on this thread was a ban(ana)ble offence.
  21. I’ve always disliked Bradshaw the commentator. But his bang. Bang bang bang! comment I thought was a great bit of spontaneous commentary., until ... i was watching the Melb vs Geelong replay of their final round clash. Geelong has just kicked 4 goals in a row of which Hawkins kicked the last 3. Hamish McLachlan states that Hawkins had gone “bang, bang, bang” after Hawkins third. I’ve gone back to seriously disliking Bradshaw the commentator all over again.
  22. Hey Red, is speaking B$ on this thread also a banable offence? with absolute due respect, there has got to be more B$ per page in this thread than any other.
  23. I would have thought that with a name like that he’d be more a lover than a fighter BBO.
  24. I found it’s all relative Grr-owl. Expat salaries, from my experience in the ME, more than compensated for the high cost of communication services. Although the internet quality was rather poor from memory. I spent time in Bahrain, Qatar and UAE (Dubai) - about 7 years in total - but found the air conditioning supply costs in Qatar ( district cooling supply - where cold air is supplied to your building in a similar manor to water or power) to be the biggest rip off - far more so than internet charges. But you cannot live without aircon in the ME, so what can you do? While there certainly isn’t any real choice in service provider, and costs are high, expats generally get paid far more than they would back home - why else would you be there? So I really couldn’t complain.
