Hungover. Oh by the way, that was TIC

Thanks wayne, good stuff. Wonder why the jumper # changes.
-
Nah Lyon will just abandon them for another team that's on it's way up, back to the Saints? lol

I cannot wait until we have some success, my neck is starting to hurt looking back all the time.

Well said nutty.

I also mentioned that WE should have a say in the design. I understand the need for a white clash jumper and it would be ideal if EVERY team had to wear one but if we have to have one I want a say in what it looks like.

Could Jesse's back problem be the reason for not following through with his kicking?

Yeah i will be getting one of these for sure.

Got another response: I understand what you are saying and the club does see the feedback from the Melbourne supporters pages. For the past two season we have kept a similar design. The 2017 design has allowed us to include more red and blue whilst remaining predominantly white. The trim around the top half of the guernsey is red, to replicate our home guernsey, with the panelling along the side of the body, blue, also similar to the home guernsey. Unfortunately the clash guernsey have to be approved by the AFL and it is their decision. I will pass your feedback into the AFL and MFC managers. I just sent back expect more emails from like minded supporters, and thanks for her time.

Got a response from Stephanie Breheny – Customer Relations Officer Thanks for contacting the Melbourne Football Club. Unfortunately the 2017 clash guernseys cannot be changed. The broader debate around the use of clash guernseys is an industry wide issue. For reasons of history and tradition, all Club’s would choose to wear their home guernsey at all times but the AFL, as the governing body, has determined for reasons such as clarity for television viewers and player confusion during play etc that clash guernseys are a required part of the game. We have tried a number of designs that don’t include white but none of those designs reduce the clash issues with all the teams the AFL determine us to clash with. The bottom line is, some Club’s uniforms, like ours, Fremantle, Western Bulldogs, St Kilda, West Coast etc are perceived to clash with more Clubs than others. Clubs like Collingwood and the Swans hardly have any issues with clash. When we are the home Club we will always wear our home Guernsey but as the away Club there are occasions when the AFL will require us to wear the clash guernsey. We would love to wear a red and blue jumper every week but the current rules and guidelines from the AFL don't allow for that. The clash Guernsey is an ongoing discussion between not only our club but all clubs and the AFL. Thank you for your feedback and ongoing support it is greatly appreciated. sent back: Hi Steph I am aware that we have to have a clash jumper, but white is not the answer. Tell me who we will clash with if we wore the jumper that I proposed? Any team that has predominant white we will wear our home strip, anyone wearing dark is not going to clash with our red it just doesn’t make sense. If we must have a white one, why not get us members to vote on designs or provide designs for you. It is our club at the end of the day and a jumper change is a big decision. I guess if we had a say there wouldn’t be so many against it. I just sent it to [email protected]

My email to the club. I know i sound like a fool but i do not care. Hello Mighty Demons Isn’t it time to see logic and tell the AFL what to do with their ruling that we must wear a while clash jumper? What is wrong with the below? How does this clash with the clubs that we have to wear the strip for? All you need to do is look at our #1 fan forum, Demonland, and see what the fans are saying. Why can’t we the members have a say in decisions about what our team looks like when it runs out onto the field? That abomination that has been created by New Balance is about the worst piece of merchandise I have ever seen, please tell me that it is not in production yet and it can be changed. I do realise that sometimes teams request to wear a clash strip as some players have difficulty with the opposition colours. Clearly the below design would clash with no other team in the AFL, put it to them and ask them which one they would rather wear! I just find it ridiculous that the club would not ask us what we think before wasting money on something that very fell will like and purchase.
-
Anyone else notice that New Balance is the ones that designed it?
-
I do not understand why we dont just have an inverted clash strip, predominantly red with the blue V? I do not hate the new one but I do not love it either, was the same feeling with all out clash jumpers.

My fears when it was decided that Goody was going to be the next coach was that they rushed into it as they were running out of time. I do not believe he was their first choice but he was the best of the rest. I felt this was because of what most of us have read, Roos was pretty blase about the meeting with him, but afterwards was convinced he would be the successor. Didn't instil me with confidence, still doesn't. We hear the guys love him and he gets a long with everyone so well with such a great support group, all sounds too familiar to me. I even remember hearing a certain ex-collingwood coach being loved by the players. The cynic in me will never let me enjoy our future success without a fight.

Fair dinkum nonsense. Should be called Vanillaland. Great info guys, keep it coming, it is appreciated, as it will be the only thing entertaining on this site from now on. I would think Trenners would have been hanging to get back early.

Spencilcase?

What do you have, broadband? Not NBN, but the fibre infrastructure will be. It is already starting to be advertised for a replacement for land lines.
-
Yeah we looked into this also, the issue is whether they have enough pairs at the exchange to "double up" creating the extra speed. Very expensive too, going for $40p/m to $199 is a little out of our range, we are only a small business.
-
I do not know who you are talking to but anyone that has the NBN, myself included, doesn't rate it in the slightest. We used to have cable broadband in our old house and that was much better, even during peak times. There are plenty of areas that the NBN has yet to hit in or around Melbourne metro, places that have a hefty price tag attached to them. The most disapointing thing about the NBN is that businesses do not have access to it. Our work has ADSL2+, while the download speed is barely adequate, 3mbsp/s, the upload speed @ 0.20mbp/s nulifies any sort of gain we may get. Think of how difficult it is to send an email that is 5mb when you are using a cloud based email service.
